BalticLatic Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Altrincham’s win today means they’ll be in FA Trophy action on 1st Feb, leaving us with yet another Saturday without a game. I looked which other clubs in our division are in the same boat that day, and checked which of them we’re currently scheduled to play midweek. Flylde is one, but that game is due to take place before the 1st of Feb anyway, so I doubt anyone would want to push it further back. Rochdale’s FA Trophy tie in the current round was postponed till Wednesday. If they were to lose, in theory our league game at Spotland could be brought forward 3 days. But given the size of the police/stewarding presence that one requires, and the fact that this close to the time their shift schedules are probably already in place to cater for it, I doubt they’d allow it to be moved again at this notice. So that just leaves Maidenhead, who we are currently supposed to host on Tuesday 18th Feb. That fixture has been scheduled since the start of the season, it’s not a rearranged game, so whether the league would allow us to bring it forward or not, I don’t know. I recall us being allowed to do this at least once in the past, but that was in the EFL, and anyway rules can change over time, so whether it’s allowed in the present day National League I don’t know, and even if it is, it would obviously need the agreement of Maidenhead. But it’s got to be worth at least enquiring hasn’t it? Nothing to lose by asking the question. On the plus side, Barnet’s loss at Altrincham means our league game with them will go ahead on FA Trophy Quarter Final day. Woking is the other one that could suffer interference, but they’d have to get to the semi final. Their tie today was postponed, so they still need 3 more wins to get that far. Quote

Drawn Gainsborough away in the next round if they beat Radcliffe. Not the most difficult of draws compared to what they could have had but guess no game is easy in this. Quote
yarddog73 Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Now playing Fylde away on the 1st. Altrincham moved to 11th Feb at home. Quote

JumpingJoshLundstram Posted January 7 Posted January 7 Also means after tonight, we have three home games in a row, chance to build momentum? Quote
oafcmetty Posted January 7 Posted January 7 After tonight 3 homes in a row followed by 4 aways, then 3 more homes. Quote

Yeah, I was able to go either way but it suits me better with the new dates. Appreciate it won’t suit all, but it never would anyway. Latics have to look after themselves first here, and losing a midweek fixture and replacing to a Saturday is a no brainer. Quote
