Having read the transfer rumour post for the last 24 hours and the rather wide ranging views on the impact of the current squad disruption (Norwood/Conlon injured / Stones departure / Clucas uncertainty etc) I thought a poll that looks at what people think it means for the rest of the season would be entertaining,,,,,

Before York game was cancelled I'd have had us top three for sure and a fair chance of going straight up or being favourites for the playoffs, currently I'd say 4-7th and missing out.

Last month we looked some team, football for the level was excellent and I honestly felt we could turn anyone over, now I'm hoping we do enough to scrape the play offs.

4-7th and missing out. Can’t see the quality coming in to replace those gone and the negative impact this will have on the players, fans and back room staff.

But we did have a very soft run of games - maybe we were all fooled a bit?

That's where I've gone. Still hoping there are enough deals done this month for that opinion to change. I'd have gone for Champions at 10 pints deep at 4pm Boxing Day.

We really need to stay in touch over the next few weeks (even if it's a slog).

It's a fair point but we were winning comprehensively, Tamworth who we rolled quite easily held both York and FG not long after and as we know there are no easy games in this division. I suppose the reason I'm so gutted at what's gone on is because it was so close and I now think we'll struggle to get that back.

I'd love to be proven wrong but that where I'm at.

I think we’ll get top 3. After that who knows? (But I put promotion just to be positive)

Precisely my own thoughts.

Here to shutdown the debate as always

I've said 5th at the start of the season I still think we will finish 5th even if we bring in the quality. Law of averages says we will probably just miss out on promotion but still we are in with a fighting chance and it wouldn't take much of a shift for us to actually go up.

No chance

This is healthy debate and a proper chance to pick the bones out of the situation we currently find ourselves in.

As we are right now, 4th-7th and missing out

As we were before 'Stonesgate' easily 3rd with a wonderful sniff of promotion

Said many times, there's always next season, oh well 😏

Right now I'd say 4th-7th but a couple of key signings that bed in quickly and I'd upgrade that to top three. Even with that though, you can't predict injuries for the rest of the season. Losing Conlon has probably derailed us just as much, if not more, than Stones. What would happen if Monthe was out for the season? We probably should enjoy being at the right end of the table and looking forward to being involved in the promotion shakedown.

We're currently 8 points clear of 8th and 9th place with one and two games in hand over those placings respectively. If we don't get into the play-offs, that would be one hell of a collapse from herein onwards. As to where we will finish within the top 7; dependent on any quality signings coming in soonest. I still think a couple of real good players could see us challenge for the title; there's a lot of points to play for.

At this very moment I see it as a "mini-wobble" period i.e. when we were due to play York on Boxing day, I felt we would beat them comfortably. If we played them now, I feel they would beat us comfortably. Once again, fate has not been kind to us with injuries to key players and Stones to York; the past couple of weeks feels like a bit of a shell shock. How long the "mini-wobble" lasts is entirely dependent on our transfer activity (in and out).

Raglan in the official website interview on the Eastleigh pitch didn't feel shell shocked. Disappointed with the last couple of displays (as we all are), yet the group is strong and wanted to come out second half and show a reaction. He felt they did. They group still see it as they are in a strong position in the league. So good spirit there!.

Lets see who MM and the board can bring in and give it a good go.

I've no doubt Lukers is lurking and reading and would welcome his/her input currently. That is a genuine request and not intended to give an hard time about the past ITK titbits. Or we could just wait and see.

Scrape 7th and be swept away by Gateshead in the eliminator.

You do realise they've lost two key players and Booty, their midfield dictator has handed in a transfer request? Of course you don't.

We’ve lost one key player and another is on his way out.

Our spine in the team has effectively been removed as well.

Losing key players and managers hasn't affected them much the past few seasons to be fair.

I've got a pretty good tolerance threshold, but it's becoming tiresome now.
