Whats going wrong ?

Recommended Posts

No balance in the side, we have a left back who's obviously uncomfortable there and can't defend, but has pace and likes to burst forward so could do a job on the left wing and play Lomax/Giddings(if he comes back) at left back. Switch Taylor over to the right- his favoured flank and would probably see an upturn in form, and as OldhamSheridan (I think) said, Liddells legs have gone.

Sure Sheridan will sort it.

One plus point from today and Burnley, McDonald is gradually coming back to the form he showed at the start of last season which is encouraging, but goes awol during games-then again if could perform for 90 minutes he wouldn't be at Oldham Athletic.

Kalala did alrite today, and Allott did well when he came on- hardly ever gives the ball away cheaply, and was about the only one to put a decent tackle in during the second half.

September 2nd 2006 league position 22 Finished in play-offs

September 1st 2007 league position 21 ...... ??????

We moved into top spot after the new year but unfortunately wasn't strong enough to stay in that postion. The squad put together this year looks a stronger (both physically and mentally) than last years and hopefully finish stronger.

Just because we had a bad start last year and went on to do well doesnt mean it will happen this year. And what makes this years squad is mentally stronger?

i'm more worried about leeds having more points than us when we play them next month!!!

please, please, please dont let that happen!!!

i have every confidence in shez getting it right eventually.

our problems have been a revolving door at the entrance since dowie, too many players in and out as has been mentioned and not given chance to gel as team.

it isnt an excuse its fact.think shez may bring in a loanee or two shortly.and if crossleys confidence has gone, bring pogs in and take him out of the firing line so to speak, but then again he needs help from the four in front of him doesnt he.

Difference between the :censored: start last year and this year is that last year we was battering teams and losing, this year we are deservedly beaten.

Last Year

Tranmere (A) - Deserved 1 Got 0

Port Vale (H) - Deserved 1 Got 0

Swansea (H) - Deserved 3 Got 3

Millwall (A) - Deserved 1/3 Got 0

Carlisle (H) - Deserved 1 Got 1

So we deserved either 7/9 points and ended up with 4.

This year

Swansea (H) - Deserved 0 Got 3

Carlisle (A) - Deserved 1 Got 0

Bristol Rovers (H) - Deserved 1 Got 0

Hartlepool (A) - Deserved 0 Got 0

Deserved 2 earnt 3, look on the bright side

The thing is when you put this season's results together with last season's, from after we went top of the league, it's been a long run without many victories.

For the avoidance of doubt I'm not a doom and gloom merchant and I'm not writing us off. I'm just pointing out that the need for improvement has not started simply in the last few games.

As you say, look on the bright side! :curtains:

There is no need to push the panic button JUST yet. At least Shezza has got plenty of options this season to change fings around. When Hughesy and Ricketts get fully fit potentially a lethal strike force, Davies is a class act, plenty of midfielder to chose from (and Macca is back to his best) - just the defence a bit of a worry but Shezza will sort it!
