    There would probably only have been Barry there who knew Duxbury from his time at Latics and regardless of what we some may think of Bazza, I’m sure he was a fan of Dux when he played for and led by example, one of the better teams in our recent history.

     

    He got a great reaction from Latics fans at half time so it can’t be that.  Perhaps he was just playing to the home crowd in hospitality when he said that after the game and I imagine his comments drew some applause and cheers?

     

    Genuinely interested to know if he shared the real reason behind the dig if you can.  Cheers

    He didn't say much more besides that, but it sounded like he meant it.

     

    I wish I asked him about it now, rather than spending 20 minutes talking about Wigan away 😊

    If Corney was still here Sheridan would never of left when we did and the team wouldn't be made up of substandard footballers brought to the club due to alterier motives.

     

    This is ignoring his supposed team tampering.

    But this is about positives so during his reign, compare to the previous owners reign in his last few years. The club seems to:

     

    Not Had any transfer embargos

    Have Paid the parent club for loan players

    Have paid away gate ticket sales to relevant clubs

    Have Paid outstanding debts from previous owner (think it was the groundskeeping company)

    Only been taken to court once (Was in May this yr on a HMRC bill that was settled).

     

    Getting BP its name back rather than....Sportsdirect.com park

     

    Was that the case, or did Sports Direct not just ditch us?

    I don't think hes a liar, just don't think we have to accept as gospel something that was said on the radio.

    Many people know him personally and he never held back what his feelings were.

     

    Obviously at the time, to people he didn't know or the media, he had a different opinion.

    No I expected exactly this tbh.

     

    They pulled the same stunt last season when announcing we had signed Baxter in May.
