Pass. It's worth noting though, that it seemed like it was just the opinion of his family and not necessarily anything that has come from Conlon himself...

Ironic considering we brought him to the club to try and change the style of how we played.  He was meant to be creative and bring positively to the team.

Won't do our fanbase any harm to have expectations dampened a little bit. Boo the players on, off at half time, back on for the 2nd half, and wonder why they don't perform in a (for us) meaningless game? Maybe realising that a bit of patience is needed will make our support a bit less toxic.

Fuck that, I'll just start attending matches again once they stop being so shit.

I think the toxicity of our fanbase in the desperation for success is the reason why we've probably had the worst home record of any football league team over the past 30 years myself. Even when we had good teams.

Is it ever that bad at home besides a few shouts from the main stand? I remember far more toxic away games over the years.  When things are bad at home people just tend to stay away and BP becomes a morgue.

You have to be taking the piss!! Fans have followed them in numbers all over the fucking place this season and got practically nothing in return.

Even the Athleticos have been very subdued over the last few weeks and the disconnection between fan & player is as bad as I’ve ever witnessed.

Total responsibility has to be taken by the management and this absolutely horrendous squad of serial underachievers!

Exactly.  What was their excuse for Frank's homecoming? It was a celebratory atmosphere until the game started...

    Come on Guy.

The bottom line is, the players it would seem have no interest in playing for him at the minute. The players will ultimately be the ones who get us promoted, Mellon nor the fans can start a war with them. Otherwise we really are in big trouble.

Mellon says- if you can’t change the player change the player.

Then says - it’s really difficult because of the contracts.

    Which illustrates the point perfectly.

He might as well say- I’ve tried, but they’re all shit, but I can’t move them on so god knows what will happen.

So are we meant to accept that 10th is a true indication of how good our squad is?

Being told you aren't performing well enough should be good motivation, yes. Would you argue against that assessment?

What should he be doing, rubbing their heads and tell them they're doing a great job?

And let's not pretend Oldham fans need an excuse to get on a managers back

Yeah I would argue if I didn't agree with what he was saying.  Who's to say he's being fair and not just blaming his scapegoats whilst his favourites get left alone?

He's a manager, it's his job to 'manage' people and get the best out of them.  This is what he's struggling to do.

Surely any professional would want to prove that they are good enough,  because certainly haven’t this season. The ones who aren't prepared to do that can fuck off for the easy life somewhere like Kings Lynn.

In any job, do you think being told your shit is the best way to motivate people?

Maybe the fans should be on Mellon's back more and it might motivate him to be a better manger?

Insipid. We have stolen a draw against a team of already relegated part timers.

NLTV Oxford based commentator (82nd minute): “These Oldham players just don’t look very interested…. Not much effort”. That is damming!

We have collapsed in slow motion this season. Abysmal form in the first and fourth 1/4’s of the season have killed us.

2 wins from the last 13. Only the two teams that will be relegated have won fewer games in that time.

Does Mellon deserve another year? Not for me. Looks clueless and spent.

The decision makers (DR) need to look in the mirror too and do we trust them to make a decent move with the next appointment?

You forgot to add that they said "especially Norwood" after that. Hence BP1960s post.

I'm surprised. I knew we had a lot of midweek games including both Sheffield clubs. Didn't realise that they were as clustered together.

Oh yeah, the FA Cup had such a big demoralising effect. I remember us playing West Ham at home the Saturday after. We lost 1-2, against a pretty poor team. It was light and day the difference in form from Feb-March to April-May either side of those matches.

I don't blame them for what happened after that. We needed instant promotion and the cloth wasn't just cut, it was hacked to ribbons by the board.

I remember Sheffield United scoring on the Tuesday night and them singing 'you're going down with the Swindon Town' and then they ended up coming down with us!

Looking at the table that season. Can't believe how tight it was at the bottom, 7 clubs within 5 points if you exclude Swindon.

Very possible that we'll be watching either Braintree or Chelmsford next season.  Both places I've been to (although Braintree have a new ground now) for what were local derbies in Conference South.  Chelmsford would be a whole new level of Southern Leisure Centre, it having a single stand and being in the middle of an athletics track

Did we play Chelmsford at BP in the FA Cup in the late 90's?

If you're so adamant we won't win the next 4, then give us 40's...

What, so you put 50p on it you cheap git.

Wish we pinned all the ridiculous nonsense you have spouted over the season to the top of this message board.

Since your source left, your messages have gone to shit.

Hope has actually spoilt us this season and scored 3 (Rochdale, Barnet, Mickleover). 12 points is very achievable over next 4 games. Whether we make the playoffs will probably depend on Halifax and their games in hand, but we're still right in the mix...

I'd have more confidence of achieving 4 wins if we had a stronger bench

1 win in 10 not ideal.

Only lost 1 in last 4 at home.

    We scored on Friday.

They looked fairly confident in the 2nd half yesterday, albeit a bit powder puff in front of goal.

    Rochdale are on the beach.

You've still not pressed the block button...

The problem we had with our starting 11 yesterday is, after Norwood (who has only scored that pen against Chesterfield since returning from injury) our next highest goalscorer was Hallam Hope with 2.

And stop putting yourself down mate, you aren't that irritating that I need to block you, yet...
