One player of those offered contracts seemingly not staying with Junior Luamba off to Barnsley as per @Lee Sinnott - stops the 'he's got potential' brigade and presume we get some money/sell on for offering him a contract

If he’s going to Barnsley he has the best agent in the history of the game

he can prove me wrong as much as Cameron Burgess and Ben Garrity but bar goal at (Gillingham? ) he’s be woeful in the first team and that miss against Salford on Relegation day was release worthy on its own

All these stupid knighthoods, surely Frank deserves one far more?

Not as much as another son of Oldham.

Frank is probably only at OBE level currently, maybe CBE if the right people put in a good word for him.

If I was Frank I wouldn’t want to

antiquated load of guff especially as you can get one just for being a sycophantic, Victorian reject, Johnson arse licker aka Reese Mogg

  3. It’s not just social media but the lack of actual context with most things in the written world

how many times have you opened an email at work and thought

    ”fuck off you prick”

then speak to them on the phone or in person and the tone and intent of their message was absolutely nothing like what you assumed

I do it all the time

Such a simple way of making money. More forward thinking from the club. Such a refreshing change from previous owners

Completely agree, I saw it and thought “who the hell would pay for that” purely because I wouldn’t

however, it’s clear that if something is for sale, people will buy it, it won’t bring in millions but simple things like

“hey we’ve got a new pitch let’s let people sponsor it” being put forward on board meetings instead of

”let’s not pay the electric this month”

    is brilliant

I would be very surprised if Fondop and or Hope are still here come August?

Either of them could probably make the bench at best and then you have to factor in Tollitt too.

Hopefully there will be one or two of them leaving next month and their contract extensions could possibly have been sanctioned with the idea of receiving a small fee?

Fondop only signed a new contract a few months ago and I doubt it was a Jose Baxter style “someone wants you give us 6 months and we can at least get some money for you”

I do see him as a squad player/impact sub player only though.

id like to see Reid, Nuttall up top with Willoughby slightly behind

i say this having never seen Willoughby kick a ball though

Tbf if you pulled together a 5 minute montage on youtube of Danny Whittakers Oldham career he would have looked like a world beater, as he fairly regularly scored some screamers.

We don't know if we will even sign him yet let alone if he will fit in. That said we've been crying out for a proper number 8 all season, and he looks like the type of player I'd want us to sign, so I will be cautiously optimistic.

I still remember the “is he better than Wellens” thread 🤣

Some more pics, although not very exciting.

reminds me of that pre season about 10 years ago when we seemed to spend all summer with just a picture of a tractor whilst everyone else was signing players 🤣🤣

few deals have been done according to the bastion of truth Twitter

    Kilcline, Pointon, Currie, Sharp......

Its an unpopular view but I think Big Joe lost the plot somewhat when he had cash to spend rather than collecting players who wanted to succeed but weren't rated by their clubs.

Perhaps there was other stuff going on but we were relegated with a poorer team than the one we were promoted with.

I thought Pointon was quite good

I think that's right but you cant include Sharp in that. Our highest top flight goalscorer.

this is not an unpopular view in the slightest, it was basically an accepted fact between Latics fans at the time. he then repeated it at subsequent clubs and made it a gilt edged Football fact.

Yes we can, always swanned around like he was Billy Big Bollocks.

Aside from the miss Monty refers to I will never forget the worst penalty I have ever seen at home to Leeds

”Not so” Sharpe scores that to give us a point and we stay up

oh and he then went on to be a toss manager in a beige coat

Suzanne seems to be doing a decent job herself !  👍

Best Latics reporter since Matt Chambers,

actually, I’d say Suzanne is better as although Matts match reports will never be beaten, all the extra stuff Suzanne does including the Q and A’s are fantastic

My dislike of the playoffs is just my personal opinion. They’re here to stay so they are the option if all else fails. It just seems to me that some are happy to settle for them before a ball has been kicked or the squad put together for next season, which baffles me.

You’re right though, as long as those that matter within the club are aiming high, which I’m sure they are, then that’s all that matters.

I think me and Monty might be on the same wavelength!

Im sure he will agree that you should probably be worried

So what's the odds of Torquay beating Wrexham 6 - 0 with a Stobbs first half hat-trick followed by a Stobbs second half hat-trick and Gateshead beating Maidenhead 6 - 0 to save Torquay's season and Stobbs being awarded the freedom of Torquay.

Bout the same odds of me shagging Holly Willoughby after the match

Just been watching the news and the really sad coverage of poor Rochdale. First relegation out of the FL.

WHAT A LOAD OF BOLLOCKS!!!! Rochdale finished bottom of tier four on a number of occasions but were voted back in by their mates (owners of the other clubs) in their division. Yes, technically, they weren't relegated, but only because Division Four chairmen had their own branch of the masons.

Last year, they took the piss out of us, big time. Well, now who's laughing? And if they think they will be a big club in this league, it matters not (and they won't be a big club until they go down to the NW Counties) because these clubs do not, as a rule, simply roll over, no matter how small they may be.

Welcome to hell, our six fingered neighbours. I'm going to enjoy taking all six points against you, while listening to your banjo playing and seeing you getting wrecked on moonshine. Let's hope you follow Scunny, all the way down.

Yeah but what do you really think?

But a lot of what they've bought into is the prospect of going through the divisions which just isn't part of US sport

US sport is like the rest of the place - bizarre

drafts in the NFL for players and leagues, a World Series in baseball where they’re the only country in it, ice hockey which is just an excuse to smash seven bells out of each other and men’s netball

    strange place

If you bothered to look, you'd have seen I posted it soon after the result.

Trying to be clever though, which I don't need after losing my brother this week.

I think he was poking fun at the fact that Hollywood FC where on every news channel bar some obscure local channel in Tahiti rather than you.

    condolences on your loss

That conjurs up horrible thoughts that require mind bleach but i've got to ask the question. If you've had that much to drink, would you be able to lift Susan Boyle up and pin her against the wall while you completed the deed. Apologies if i've made anyone feel queesy.

The point is Abdallah told Wellens what players to play which, in my opinion, absolves him from blame..

I agree, I think that’s how we got treated to the worst 45 minutes from a footballer I have ever seen in Omrani - which was under Wellens
