Missing giving the leeds lot abuse  have you got anyway of keeping in touch with the likes of 75 and crewe 59 etc etc ? Yeah add me as a friend and i will do likewise

Fraid not will miss banter with them

  2. Stadium Maintenance costs the club a lot of money, with a brand-new stadium there is less maintenance costs because everything would be new and shouldn't need repairing.

Better facilities for me and you wouldn't mean too much, it's the more lucrative corporate stuff we need to build on which would give us a big boost in terms of finances.

The stadium costs are funded by the sale of the surrounding land for housing. The extra revenue streams will only add to the money coming in and it's money we're not getting now.

So by doing all this we get a new stadium, better facilities, more money coming in, less money going out.

The stadium is needed now, not if we ever get to the Championship, the stadium will help us to get into the Championship by being able to compete better financially.

If we stay as we are we are going nowhere but down!

I could'nt agre more, imo any ground share idea is a step back

  3. our friends at sky decided it wasn't successful enough so they've pulled the plug on it. can't quite believe it meself  it won't be the same without rivals. and the big thread we had going is no more! good to here from you again though, willie

Aye agree will miss it, by the way added you to friends list hope it's ok

  4. The Football Supporters' Federation has produced its first National Supporters' Survey this summer. We're looking to get a snapshot on fans' views on all facets of the game. Launched on 1st July we've already had well over 2,000 respondents - we'll be running this through the summer to the beginning of the season, which should make it one of the largest fans' surveys ever conducted.

It doesn't matter if you attend 50 games a season, 5, or none, we want to know what you think.

The survey touches on TV scheduling, ticket pricing, policing, and other matchday experiences.

Get along to http://tinyurl.com/l9v2vw and give us 10 minutes of your time to let us know what you think about the state of the game today.

    Thanks,

    The FSF.

    FSF

    Done,

Though i wish they had put a section in the survey regarding agents/lawyers who suck huge amounts of money out the game.

  5. I would like the squad to have 2 players in every position from the start of the season. With manager having enough faith to play the back up player if needed or to switch them around and give them both a chance. Therefore removing the need to use the short term loan system unless its an emergency. Even if the team isnt pushing for promotion, I would like to see the manager stick by the players he has assembled during the summer.

Whether these players are made up of experienced pros, lower league gambles, our youngsters or even a couple of long term loanies doesnt really bothered me, I would just like a settled squad, with competition for each starting place (oh and a reserve team to keep those out of the side match fit).

I'll go along with wozz's squad suggestion, Shez's use of the loan players option was imo embarrassing and have no wish to see what equated to a full team of mercenaries comming and going at our club again.

  6. Actualy Exile i do, O'Grady has'nt had much of a chance so how do we actualy know if he can play alongside Hughes, or indeed fashion a working partnership with one of the others. I'm not the biggest Davis fan i think he's to greedy a lot of the time and thinks of personal glory before team, that said he's young and that can be worked on, top scorer last season says he's got something and worth keeping.

    imo of coarse

  7. "Oldham boss John Sheridan is set to seal a deal for striker Darren Byfield this week after sorting out the move with Doncaster. The loan spell may become permanent for Byfield, 32, who earned six caps for Jamaica."

    This was in The People.

Come across this one as bad as the other imo  we have enough striking options (if we did'nt loan them all out) so why are we intertaining bringing in has beens?

  8. sam allerdyce used to sit in the directors box for the first half,or until things get rough.

first and foremost everybody on this site barring the odd away fan are big oldham athletic fans..we all want to see the team do well...we all want to see the club in general do well.....the majority of us would like to see the manager do well....but there are some who quite rightly dont want to blow smoke up someones backside who they consider inadequate to get us out of this division.

shez as the player was and always will be a latics legend.....shez the manager is quite different.

pleasing things from today was he actually changed things for the start, then recognised it wasnt working and changed again at half time...that is a good move and what good managers do...my only gripe is the same as what shez'z is...consistency.

its not only down to the players to be consistent, but the manager as well...at the start of the season the way we came back against millwall and the way shez changed things around was like a breath of fresh air....sadly he hasnt done it often enough in recent games, stubbornly sticking to his game plan when its obvious to everybody it isnt working....and that is what will be his down falll.

yeovil was my first game....i will be back again as i know how oldham perform, but if there was a fair few floaters at that game they wont come back...

the basics were not in place, and it was like a pre season friendly pace for most of them..not a losing our unbeaten home run tempo game....

i only hope that we manage to scrape a few wins up and over christmas and it all comes good after that and we get what each and every one of us wants, promotion.

if come may and we havent and we are still miss firing and one good then 3 bad displays time to call it quits im afraid, and change managers...he will have had 3 years of the best financial backing any manager since big joe has had....and apart from a skirmish with the playoffs has done little to improve or move us forward.

Totaly agree from the best start to a season in 18yrs to the mess we are in now is a bit more than just lose of form, imo we are in a bit of a crises and it needs sorting fast before it costs us dear.

  9. My early football was watching Celtic standing ing the famous jungle watching Jimmy (Jinky) Johnston weave his majic. Moved to London to work 86 then moved to Oldham 89, frst Latics game was at BP agenst West Ham 4-3 1st half in Lookers stand got down into Chaddy for 2nd half and was hooked, and took my son from age of 5.

Move back to Scotland 2001 after my mum died to be near old fella. But don't get down to very many games now mainly due to cost, think falling crowds are'nt down to one specific thing but a combination of things, cost, lack of succes, poor marketing of the club etc.

  10. Think some of the folks need to have a long hard look at themselves at how they conduct themselves at the game.

Ask yourselves the question of why you deem yourselves to be in the firing line of the Stewards and Police.

Total rubbish the stewards at BP (least most of them) have for years been nothing other a bunch of over zealous power mad upstarts, with no idea of reasoning or commonsence it's no wonder the atmosphere is so dire at BP

  11. hughes already has a second striker in lewi, simple as.

you cant knock davies goals from last season, but this season is a very big one for him as far as im concerned to show us he has the fight hunger and desire to take this club forward to promotion.....so far this season he has let everyone down....and i think shez would be totally justified in just giving him a place on the bench, and make him sweat for a while.......

as the old addage says..if it aint broke dont fix it.......

if and when he does come in he is going to have to justify his place with some pretty good performances, make the most of his oppertunity or if he doesnt and continues his sulky kid routine i would seriously look to offload.....we cant afford to carry passengers this season.....if players want a league one winners medal they have to bloody well earn it.

Spot on totaly agree thers no room for big egos
