How many players have been signed by rival clubs?

There have been about 28 signings made by League 2 clubs other than us so far since the window has opened from what i can see. Just answering the question by the way i don't know if that's a lot or not for this stage of the window.

#businesslads Do we think this is historic or new debt?

Historic, this tax year only ended just over 2 months ago. You would think if it was related to that HMRC would allow more than 2 months for you to sort it before starting a winding up petition where they are likely to end up being paid a pittence of a percentage of what they are actually owed. HMRC are however known to use the system quite aggressively to get payment faster.

It is somewhat telling that the first player to be signed under Bunn is a French lad from an obscure club in France and it is obvious Bunn is allowing Lesmagam to control what happens on the pitch.

To ask that supporters give this lad a chance is fine by me, but I ask those supporters to use their own imagination and answer the following question:

    1. How many of the foreign-born players that have been signed in the last 12 months can speak English?

    2. Is it not likely that these players will inevitably form a clique, one which will fester and ultimately drain the notion of a team? In my view, this is partly what caused last season to descend into a disaster.

    3. How many League Two champions in recent years have possessed as many foreign-born, non-English speaking players as are employed by our club?

I am afraid that models like this have been tried and invariably fail.

    1) From what i witnessed today they all speak English and were mixing well with all the players, laughing and joking.

    2) As above everyone was mixing well as a group didn't appear to be any cliques among any of the players forming at present.

    3) I don't know, do you class Irish, Welsh and Scottish as foreign born or are you taliking British? The non English speaking bit is irrelevant as they all appeared to be communicating well in English.

So nothing for you to worry about really.

It really was disastrous Placide Nepo Menig Maouche Omrani Benteke and moimbe. Their is probably £1million worth of wages there. Placide was an ok goalkeeper no better no worse. Nepos reputation appeared to grow massively when he wasnt playing and we were losing. But he was ok nothing more nothing less. Moimbe was good enough technically but undisciplined we could have found a better player.

The others were just a waste.

So 2 ok players out of 7 we could easily have spent that money better. Id call that a disaster. Its also obvious this isnt Bunns signing.

We could possibly have spent the money better elsewhere but i am not sure the manager would have done. Placide - o.k, moimbe is a decent player but lacks discipline, Nepo decent when played as a winger and we did better with him in the side than we did without. Omrani looked decent in his subs appearences but looked shocking in the game he started although Wellens subbed him and admitted it was his formation and tactics were at fault that day. Menig - pretty much waste of money. Manouche and Benteke - no idea as haven't seen enough of them to make a decision. What i do know is Ruddy, Ben Wilson, Benyu, Pringle, Mceleney never looked good enough at any point. Byrne and Davies were shite from December onwards. Byrne clearly has the abbility though. All in all there were signings made by both manager and chairman that were nowhere near good enough.

Well who'd have thought this in January,  the guy hasn't a pot to pixx in, in fact it's looking like he couldn't sustain us in the conference.  So much for all the checks by the football league

It's funny how about only 2 people share this guys views and the rest to put it politely think he is in the lower half of the population when it comes to inteligence. Funnily enough the 2 who agree with him on twitter are two of his other accounts?

What I meant was if they was laid off for no apparent reason surely they'd be due compensation, i.e redundancy type pay

If there was no reason the employee could go to tribunaral and look to win compensation. If however the employee is giving out confidential company information, which the name of a new manager or even who is helping appoint him could be classed as they can legaly be fired. Also if you bad mouth your employer or your employer bad mouths you your contract can legaly be ended by the party on the receiving end. I think it's called assumption of loyalty or something like that. And as we are talking about a source (somebody giving out clubs information) not worrying about being caught because they want out, all i was saying is it's easier just to resign than get caught and be fired.

Not even breaking a million quid spread over the season doesn’t go far!

We get much more from EFL solidarity payments than season ticket sales and always have. If A.L puts that money into the club instead of keeping most of it for himself as the previous owner did we will be in a much better position financially than we have been in previous years. Lets hope A.L uses the clubs money to run the club. If he does we should be fine.

Maybe your right but I'm not going to be the one that does name the player.  I'm not prepared to piss off all who have worked on the deal or steal the thunder on any promotional work either done by those involved.

Would you take the chance? So I'd best not say anything else now

Fair enough, i wasn't having a pop at you by the way.

It is confusing as the club have not announced he has "signed" either.

Baxter and club have an agreement in principle.

Once the club have announced Baxter or any other player as "signed". The playershare part will be announced shortly after.

The club have said he has agreed a 1 year deal with a 1 year option. There is also an interview on Player with Wellens were he is asked about the Baxter "signing". Wellens goes on to talk about "the signing" and how he spent all weekend working on it. If that deal is not done and it falls through, how on earth could anyone at the club blame playershare because they named him?

  10. Seriously if you hear a rumour that we can't afford petrol for the mowers and believe it there is no hope. Here's something we do know as a fact. A.L told sports direct (apparently the biggest Sponsership deal we have ever had) to shove their money so we could call Boundary Park Boundary Park again. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be doing that if we didn't have 60 quid for some diesel.

Byrne is way too good for L1 let alone L2, he’s potentially a top end championship player. Very similar mould to a Wes Hoolahan in his style of play.Pleasure to watch even if Wellens seemed to lose the plot with him towards the end of the season. Clever investment by AL to sign him in Jan. As he wants away I personally think £250k plus with sell on clause is good business as at the moment he is still just potential

I honestly don't understand how you have come to this conclusion. He has some talent yes but he's completely unproven and rumoured to be a bad egg in the dressing room..

What is the conclusion? He's way to good for league 1 let alone league 2, potentially a top end championship player but only worth 250k plus add on's because it's still just potential at the moment? From what i can work out you must think he's a mid table championship team central midfielder at present if he's way to good for league 1 but not yet a top end championship player, in which case he must be worth more than 250k plus add on's you would think.

....He (Lemsagam) or they (Lemsagam & Wellens) - however you look at it - failed to get decent L1 players in when we were in L1, what makes you think they will now?

I for one hope they will have more of a chance without being under one embargo or another as they were for last season for huge chunks of both transfer windows. Also i am hoping they won't have to spend massive amounts of funds and time sorting out the mess Corney left behind this time round. Here's hoping.

    He was shit

Not to worried about that if he only got 15 minutes and hardly got the ball to be honest. The whole team sounded shit for the first 25 minutes of the game so hopefully he will look better once he gets a bit of game time. Thanks for your constructive analysis though.?

So what's Ruddy done wrong exactly?

yes Wilson was shit, we replaced him. The elephant in the room remains, the fact that Clarke's legs have gone. He was awesome last season but Ripley was digging him out of the shit every week. This year he looks every bit the old man. He was awful for that second goal yestday but people focus on a kid in goal that looks decent and whether Gerrard is overweight or not. The problem in defence is our captain. Edmundson hasn't great either but he gets some slack he's a kid. I'd bring Stott in once he's fit.

Im away but managed to watch the highlights. It looked to me he should have easily gathered the ball at his near post that he fumbled and pushed onto their strikers foot 4 yards out. May have just looked that way on TV as i wasn't there.
