  1. When we played Everton in 2008 I wagered my then girlfriend (now wife) that if we won I'd buy her a cat (which I’d refused to do for Christmas) but in return I’d have the naming rights and would name it after the winning goal scorer. I have to admit I thought I was on fairly safe ground here and wouldn't end up having to make good this wager.

We now have a ginger, slightly obese cat called Gary MacDonald.

So we’re entered the same wager this time round. Perhaps we’ll soon have another cat named Matt Smith?! I'm just glad these cup runs don't come round ever year!

  2. I thought the atmosphere on Saturday in the RRE was one the best at BP for ages! Don't condone excessive swearing, etc but the Club have got this all wrong.

I wonder what Sheridan thinks after his comments about the great atmoshpere!

Just caught a glimpse of the Liege v Liverpool match. I couldn't believe my eyes all the Liege fans are standing and bouncing around! I sincerely hope their club issues a stern warning about their behavoir on their offical site tomorrow. Very unlikely!

  3. Excellent. I'm based near Brighton, so this is the shortest distance I have to travel all season.

There are plenty of decent pubs around the station, my personal favourite being the Caxton. If not the Battle (of Trafalgar), the Eddy and the Nelson are all good choices.

Hopefully see a few of you on Saturday

  4. I know absence is meant to make the heart grow fonder, but wanting to sign Vernon again is taking it too far (at least we waited 7 years before signing Allott back)! There must be other strikers available that have a better track record in this divison and wouldn't invovle giving up one of our better players.

Is the team stronger with Taylor or Vernon. I'd say Taylor everytime.

  5. this is all complete bull! hes just bought a house in diggle with his wife and kids, hes happy and his kids love it at their new school. Family will matter most to him so i cant see him moving his family for the sake of football at his age now unless a really big club comes in, even then i think he'd remain loyal to latics for what we've done for him.

    NEXT...

I agree it's all none sense but I doubt he'd move if he went to Burnely, it not that far to travel from where he lives.
