Was sat behind a scout today who was mightily impressed with him today and wrote nearly half a book on him
-
He has more champions league experience than man utds 2 signings
-
Unfortunately he was that good. I have never seen any player with the same poise on the ball that he had and the sheer presence of him on the field won many games.
Why Leeds sold him to the scum I will never know but he was as instrumental in turning the scum around as Ferguson, in my opinion.
Incidentally he made his debut in English football at Boundary Park for the Yorkshire Anti Christs and got a good spanking of the Latics - 2-0 but it could have been many more............
wasnt that game 2 2 with cantona scoring twice, then ian olney scoring twice at the death to rescue a point.?
-
that scott veron trainning with us new face.
has he got a new face?
what was wrong with his old one?
or has he had face off john woo style?
-
penney gone imo !!
tta need to do the right thing, show some balls and show penny the door
anyone would be better at the moment, may give the boost that is needed to stay up
-
Joe Royle had a long list of bad signings before he got lucky, give a Manager at least 18 months to sort it out. TTA have shown no more ability to "get it right" than Dave Penney, so I have no more confidence in the next manager through the revolving doors.
The whole economics of football is stacked against us. Its not good , the whole structure of clubs with our resources is bust, its not just Dave Penney's or TTA's fault there sre bigger issues and we need to see beyond the end of our noses.
Name me one team in the top 10 of this division with a budget or crowds lower than ours.
big joe didnt get lucky, he signed players from higher divisions who werent fullfilling their potential, and yes he took some gambles
dave penny has signed cast offs from league 1 and 2 and a keeper from non league
he payed good money for colbeck, brill is allegedley the highest paid player at the club, parker, need i say any more
revolving door of crap on loan strikers
endless full back signings
swindon
colchester
bristol rovers
yeovil are 12
wallsall are 13
they are all streets ahead of us this season, we have gone backwards tenfold
tta will not go it is inevitable that the manager will go sooner rather than later
-
What a good thread
ok we are stuggling, changing managers won't solve the prolem and Rome wasn't built in a day, or the pinch me seasons. We need to stick with Dave for a good part of next season. Interesting that the less eloquent responses on this thread are anti Penney, at least they have a new song to sing with not many words in it.
bang wrong my friend
managers live or die by their signings
name me more than 1 that hasbeen successful
tta have already admitted mistakes in the past ie talbot
penny will be another one
however i do believe they will get it right
penny is one of the major factors that is wrong with this club along with some of the :censored:e that he has signed
he needs to go in the summer regardless
-
he is a :censored:e manager
his signings have been poor (except abbot)
we are battling relegation
hundreds have stopped going to bp every week
he doesnt motivate, his post/pre match interviews are poor
basically he is :censored:e
need we say anymore?

We're doing a bit of research on Boundary Blues and what supporters are aware of.
How many people here know what you get for being a member, what the benefits are etc?
Do you know how much membership is?
Are you aware that you can buy a membership without a season ticket and still receive all the benefits of being a member?
How can we publicise events more? We use OWTB, official web site, Chronicle, posters in the shop and around the ground but what else can we do?
Thanks
Lisa
wheres the info on here?
how much is membership?
what is minimum age?

The faith may have been lost here but who knows? Times are hard and I cant condone spending money on that product!
Maybe my second post will be more positive, could even be me coming back on eating my words!!!
Sorry Guys

Big and daft centre-forward, been crying out for that all season. Either that or give Lewi the run-in to resume his understanding with slap head.
im available
im big
and daft
-
This persons veiws are completely valid , I feel the same , £20 quids a lot to some people , but obviously not you. I'm a FAN Hes a FAN , and frankly you sound like a TIT!
im not actually a tit
20 quid is 20 quid its about the whole saturday thing, meeting the lads in the pub, going to the game, seeing people that have shared youe experiences for years
like i said before my first child is due in may and boy or girl it will be a latics fan and go to the games when old enough
people are entitled to thier opinions right or wrong
i feel passionate about my LOCAL team
like i said if you dont like it go away and go shopping on your own
whatever you do go and moan on your own, stop bringing everyone down with you
-
Dont we say that every season...you keep believing mate im off!
Even Joe Royle cant sort that bag of :censored: out!
It litterally brought a tear to my eye watching us today, i love latics but i really cant carry on paying to watch people who dont care as much as me!
give your head a wobble, have a beer and see how you feel in the morning
latics are your team and always will be if you are a true supporter
i was first taken to latics 25 years ago against my will by my brother and the rest is history
its in my blood
it will be in my kids blood
like i said through thick and thin, i used to hate the dross football in the mid 80s, saw the good times, and now some good some bad.
reality check time we are a small club keeping our heads above water
what we dont need is people deserting the club after 17 years
id still support them if the played on clayton playing fields
-
Having supported Latics all my life, i have really become so frustrated and after today have decided never to walk into Boundary Park again, until I see a team that is gonna fight for the club.
Quite simply why do I pay my money every home game to see dross like that? It was an embarrasment.
Obviously, some fans will just say "bye then!" to this statement.
I dont get my money back for watching a team with a lack of passion and commitment do I? So why should they pick up their over-inflated wage packet week in week out? So I will no longer give them my 20 quid a game.
These are classed as professional people, was that a professional display today? 8 year old kids heads' drop when they're losing, not professional footballers!!
Eardley you are a joke!
R.I.P Latics!
how old are you? 10
being a FAN means through thick and thin
sod off and go and support utd like the other glory hunters then
-
I'm not convinced that these super players Stephens and Lee are the answer.
They can't be pulling up many trees in training or in reserve games to not even be getting on the bench.
I think Joe will be desperate to try and bring in another couple of loanees this week after seeing what he has to work with today.
what reserve games
throw them in, why not, what have we to lose
-
i wish he would stop banging on about the financial situation at latics, for gods sake we are top of the league and all he can go on about is what crowds he is expecting. Dont buy a club like oldham if you are expecting massive crowds. A lot of people in this town simply cant afford to go for example a lad i work with has 2 kids and it costs him a fortune on a saturday if he goes, so he goes when he can afford it if he gets the overtime at work, its a fact of life, he lives by his means and unfortunately latics to him is a luxury. I just think the wo is me tale about being skint is wareing thin, either put up or shut up cos its taking the gloss off a superb start to the season. in the pub before the game all the talk was about corney on blw1 instead of the game ahead
one word of note, one of the lads had his coat nicked last year with his wallet, phone and season ticket in it. he rang the club to ask for a replacement and was told that they couldnt do it (spoke to a guy called neil joy) bearing in mind this lad had a season ticket for 20 years and all the club could do was stick 2 fingers up at him, needless to say he hasnt been back since and instead sits in the pub watching soccer saturday
anyway top of the league really think we can do well this year good signings and good youth, just lets concentrate on the team and not the bleedin finances for once
-
we always look out for the results of kieth in the highland scottish league
one of the lads from the pub e mailed the club and the chairman has invited us up next season to see a game as well as sending us a scarf, sounds like he has about 20 jobs round the football club.
proper grass root footy, get on the clubs website and have a look, it actually pretty decent
up the kieth
