I cannot believe that the LEGEND that was Alan Groves is not top of this list!!!

Although I admire all 9 on the list, several (in my opinion) are not in the same class as Groves.

Philly is also a good shout - excellent servant of the club - been there through good times and bad - legend in the making!

I think £350 k is a snip for a talent/prospect such as he, and I would hope the only bargaining chip we held was with a sell on clause.

Without a shadow of a doubt - the late great Alan Groves.

His ball control was on par (if not better than) Christiano Ronaldo. From the tender age of 8 I was fortunate enough to witness the genius that was Alan Groves.

He made us laugh, he made us cry (with laughter) as he tormented defences week in week out with alarming regularity. He always acknowledged the crowd (whether home or away) as he playfully tied defenders in knots and on one occasion he was one on one with the final defender and beckoned with the crowd to beat him on the left or the right before scoring yet another goal for Oldham.

If he had played for a more high profile club, I have no doubt he would have gone on to represent his country at World Cups/European Championships.

Before his untimely passing, I met the great man whilst receiving an award for winning everything with Heyside Juniors when I was 15, and a more friendly, humble man you couldn't wish to meet. He loved football and his public.

Just heard Mr K on GMR and he did say the club inviolved were once a big club and with a bit of "tweeking" could be again. Does three years in the top division (albeit 20 years ago), and being a founder member of the Premier League constitute a once big club??

After visiting a friend in Germany (in 1991) had the good fortune to visit a German Bundesliga game Karlsruhe have sine played Eintracht Frankfurt and hammered them 4 - 1. The atmosphere was unlike any I had witnessed before (or since) and is one game I will always remember.

Karlsruhe have had lots of financial problems since those heady days of rhe Bundesliga and are now in the third tier of German football and are currently top of 3 Liga.

It takes me literally 5 minutes to walk to Boundary Park from where I live and I live in Longsight!!!

I'm not sure who we played on the day I was born, but unfortunately for me, on the day I got married (17 Aug 1991) we played Liverpool at Anfield - our first game back in the top flight for 67 years!!!!

I carefully planned our wedding to avoid this unique occasion but thanks to the FA - in their infinite wisdom, they brought the 91/92 season forward one week to allow the England team extra time at the end of the season to prepare for the European Championships. My best man and groomsmen didn't speak to me for several weeks after!!!!
