  1. Too late at night for a detailed analysis, but we certainly deserved a draw. Worked hard, ran the second half completely. Lively match, I enjoyed it and the longer things went on, the more I felt that we would score. But, as at Orient, we found it hard to create clear cut chances. Scoreline does not reflect things - second goal was a well-taken breakaway as Latics pressed at the other end. We have some decent players there, and Smalley’s pace on the wing could well give us the extra edge we need. Nothing to despair about yet, much as people enjoy doing so. Talking of which, who writes the drivel on the official site? Come back Stu Vose. I have just read the report on there which gives far too much weight to a few incidents and makes it sound as if Millwall should have had half a dozen. Rubbish. A 1-1 draw would have been fine IMO.

How was Brill? Fishal report sounds like he didn't know if he was coming or going at times?!

  2.

Anyway. Everyone knows for as long as Franny's around, that our anthem will and forever be "The Bongo Song"

"Clap yer 'ands and stamp 'yer feet........." :sign0003:

AND WHY DOES HE ALWAYS HAVE TO SAY <YOU'RE NOT LOUD ENOUGH> AFTER ANNOUNCING THE GOALKEEPER WHEN READING OUT THE TEAM?! YOU CAN'T EMBARASS FANS INTO CHEERING!!

  3. A few years ago, both knees gone, looking like John Wayne, but still bossing each game he played.

Then why doesn't he change things when it's obvious to everyone else at BP that central midfield is being over-run.

Maher 5th midfielder?; Liddel (or Smalley) can play behind front two; COG on left & Taylor inside; Gregan CB / Hazell RB / Eardley midfield; even Gregan in midfield! For f***s sake there are options.

"Some players perform better at home/away". If they can't do it week in week out then they're not good enough. Either show some balls and make changes early enough to make a difference or get your boots back on Shez!

  4. Surely having voted for it, you have a moral obligation to buy at least 10 shirts, even if only to give to people you don't like! :)

  5. Do we have any say on the pre 2nd half music? The 'bongo music' that Franny seems so obsessed with has surely run its course. I know its been mentioned before, but how about Keep The Faith by Bon Jovi - could be the lift the players need if we're trailing at half time.

  6. The intro to Saturn 5 by Inspirals may be a good idea if your gonna go down the local interest route. But i voted for Guns as as far as i know it would be unique to us and it could catch on really well at away games, as Diego suggested.

I agree, although wasn't initially impressed, I think Guns Of Navarone could catch on, if not, why not Eat My Goal by Collapsed Lung next year? As for entrance music, I've always thought we should have something with a local connection. Either Saturn 5 or Generations by Inspiral Carpets would be good (guitarist Graham Lambert is a Latics fan) or howabout Set You Free by N-Trance, their 2 main guys were from Shaw and Failsworth and formed the band whilst at Oldham College!

  7. >Name?

    >How Long Supporting the Tics?

    23 yrs.

    >Best away match you've been to?

Everton / Leeds away last season. Too close to call.

    >All Time Greatest Player?

    Oooooh Roger Palmer

    >Biggest Rivals (in your eyes)?

Probably Leeds for the next couple of seasons at least, as I think both of us will go up this time round.
