  1. The least you deserve for how your club treated our fans on the Friday night in 2008...

Lee ... I can tell you are 'sore' about the events of that night, I was in the CE and it was half a dozen at most, some OAFC lads got a little lairy and some County reacted and there was a bit of a do :fighting: ... it wasn't and isn't reflective of what many County fans think of OAFC and vica versa. I once copped a sneaky haymaker walking up to Boundary Park many years back but it was par for the course in those days and had I been stood in the home end trapping off I would have expected more but it hasn't altered my view that Oldham fans are in the main cracking, passionate fans and I always feel that in the Nth West you are more akin to ourselves in being loyal to your home town club and not closet blues/reds like fans of others I could mention. Don't let one instance of dafteness sour your thoughts mate, there is more to unite clubs/fans like ours than divides to be honest :scarf001:

  2. I said I would feedback fellas .... its a positive step and SMBC have finally come good and not a penny of tax payers money is at risk ... a new start for us and the petition played its part so thanks one and all, hopefully be back playing you guys at some point and I honestly wish OAFC all the very best for the coming season :icon_peace::OASISscarf:

The petition reashed 4& half thousand as well ... smashing!

  3. Much too early for any corks popping but the early signs are good ......

If ever we get back to playing you lads on level terms (us going up not you lot down here haha) then I will put a pint on the bar with some straws .... cant say fairer than that!

I promise to update you all :icon_peace: if its great news but you will never hear from me again if its not :surrender:

  4. Fellas ... hope you don't mind but I am a County fan and you may heave seen in the MEN that someone has bid for Edgeley Park from Brian Kennedy ... we suspect they maybe developers and ready to bulldoze the old girl to the ground!

Therefore there is an emergency meeting of SMBC on Weds and they may ... just may be voting on purchasing it as an asset and leasing it back to us ... we would get our home back but a fan has launched a petition to help convince them.

Feel free to sign it and please, please tweet it, facebook it or whatever ....

Best of luck to you chaps this season coming and thanks

  5. I was sat alone in the Cheadle End because I couldn't get a ticket with the Oldham fans. I was sat about 10 rows up from the guy who jumped up and down and celebrated when we scored. Granted, not the wisest thing to do - but to be filled in by 20 plus "boys" was disgraceful. With hundreds of others shouting ":censored:ing kill them - :censored:ing kill the bastards". When City came in the Chaddy, there was nothing like that. Mutual respect and a bit of piss taking, but not much else from where I was.

People who say that the bloke deserved it can :censored: right off - no one deserves the brutality of the beating he got.

Any respect I had for Stockport and their fans has gone. As far as I know, there is no history between Oldham and Stockport, but that has changed last night.

Like I said earlier, I honestly don't think the reaction would have been quite as bad had that 'Firm' ^_^ not paraded down the front of the CE at the start 'calling it on', unfortunately that set the scene for what followed, and lets keep it factual, the bloke clobbered ... well he and a few of the others turned around to goad and not simply cheer, proof of the pudding is that you were in there you say, you kept a low profile and no probs! I think someone say's something on another post along the lines of 'So some Latics were in the home end, so what?", well all things being fluffy that would be great and there would be no need for any segregation of any kind at any ground? but we know that's pie in the sky and footy would be back in the dark ages in 1 season, so its there for a purpose and when its flouted then there is a potential, just a fact of life!

What is a bit of a shame is that there were pretty good relations prior to last night but hey ho ... thats footy :D .... oh .... the guy with the ear 'bittten off' ... it was nibbled a little but still there  and didn't stop him celebrating the win with a few shandy's !

None of my warblings condone stuff but I like things to kept 'real dudes' as the yoof say (or do they?)

    Cheers

  6. As a County fan here's my t'ppenth worth (for what its worth!)

The mither - I dont really think there would have been any if not for the first bunch of 'Green St clones' who gobbed off right at the start, they waited of course until they had walked to the gates where the stewards were, then the usual s*ite ... you know .... arms outstreched, beckoning people on (whilst walking behind the stewards) then once safe they give the big un again, job done and cue "yeah, we were in their end and they didn't wanna know".

All daft stuff but that cranked up the Cheadle End a fair few notches and so when you scored and those left in turned and took the proverbial ...well ... what might have gone off with just some verbals resulted in a ruckas .... yes I know in a perfect marshmellow world we would have all hugged and sang "Cumby Ya" but it's footy and we know the crack don't we?

The Match - I thought you were superb in the first half but lacked the finishing (thank god Hughes was out eh!), great play, fluid and yet physical when needed and at that point it looked what it was, men v boy's.

Second half, we made some changes, you stopped closing down and thats fatal because these young County lads can play a bit, plus as youngsters they are as fit as fook and I thought it showed, we were still running as strong in the last 10 as the first minute.

I reckon you will be there or there abouts if you keep Hughes fit and those two new lads will be great when settled in, people moaning after the start you have had should give their heads a wobble!

Till the return ... best of luck!
