  1. Off the top of my head the season ticket for both disabled and carer were £180 each on the early bird deal and £225 each after the cut off.

I think carers can still gain free entry when accompanying disabled fans to home games with prepaid tickets proving disability at purchase.

I've just had a response from Ron confirming that this is all correct. Ta

  2. I've always liked Rory Fallon as a target man.

    Pro's:

    Should be cheap

Holds the ball up very well

Always gives our defence problems when he plays against us (scored a belter last season at our place)

Bags of experience i.e. good guy to have in the dressing room, not necessarily as a 1st team starter

Played a full season with Crofty at St Johnstone

    Cons:

    He's getting on a bit (33)

Not sure what his injury situation is at present

That is my suggestion, for what it's worth.

  3. Did anyone else see Fabrice Muamba on 'Gareth Malone's Celebrity Choir' the other night? He was filmed on the touchline at Chapel Road watching Tommy putting our lads through their paces in training. Check it out on I-Player.

    Why was he there? Either:

A: The whole thing was just a set-up by the BBC as they needed any old training ground for him to be filmed at and ours was the nearest/most available

    or

B: He was genuinely watching us train for some reason.

I'm 99.99999999999% the answer is 'A' but, what an awesome appointment he would be (although I'm not sure the stress levels of matchdays at SDP would be great for his health).

P.S. Just to make it clear, I wasn't watching it, the wife was and she called me in when Latics came on. Honest.

  4. A few seasons ago, my retired father took himself off to an away game down South (Yeovil I think) on his own. He checked himself into a travel lodge somewhere, for the friday night, and popped into the pub for some grub. There was Mr Dickov and his entire coaching staff (before they got taken off him) talking tactics over a drink before bedtime. The players were already tucked up in bed.

My dad said hello and introduced himself as a Latics fan. Paul bought him a pint and invited him to sit with them.

Not wanting to get in the way, my Dad had a quick drink with them then sat at a different table to order food. When he eventually left the pub he found that his food bill had been paid.

    Top bloke.

  5. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I'm not great at maths but if we carry on with our current form we will end up with... (hold on)... 45.99999999 points at the end of the season.

We need to convert some more of these many chances we are creating into goals or we will be involved in yet another relegation fight come squeaky bum time next year.

Plenty of time yet though. Anything could happen.

  6. Lots of other club manager's faces shown in the crowd last night including Doncaster's manager (quelle surprise) and Sheffield United's 'current' manager (he's just been given the "vote of confidence" by the new investors). They must have been impressed by our young centre half.

Man United's new sour faced whinging ginger manager was there also.

  7. Don't use his yahoo e-mail address, it got proper hacked recently so he's abandoned it!

    His new one is roncassidy60@gmail.com

He tries to chat to all the disabled supporters on a matchday, including the visiting ones. He's the slightly dishevelled looking guy who hobbles around the pitch perimeter at half time with his walking stick. He's very approachable. Say hello if you see him.

He has been getting into the club about the new stand. He'll let you know the score if you speak to him.

I'll ask him about the carer thing when I see him. I know he has been mithering the club about that himself.

He doesn't work for the club, he is simply a volunteer who is there purely to represent the supporters. Please feel free to send him any questions you may have and he will do his best to get answers.

  8. You can contact Ron, the Disabled Fan's Rep, through me if you want (he's my old man!).

I know he's been over there looking at the temporary disabled facilities that are currently being assembled. Yesterday he told me a statement has been drafted by the club. Neil Joy asked him to check it before it goes out.

He's gone over to the club to sort it out today.

I can send you his e-mail address / phone number if anyone wants it?

  9. Are we not the same fans that supported mr Hughes after he had killed somebody?!?!!

Oh no a player moaned about another player he definitely cannot play for us

IF he were to sign then it would be a massive improvement on last season FACT

I'd happily have in the squad just for his experience and physical presence.
