  1. I'll  be there. New ground for me and hope the atomosphere will produce better results than at Spotland. Should I aim for the King Tuts for about eleven? You'll be there?

  2. Been a while since i done this by train five of us coming down need a reminder of decent pubs near the ground cheaper deal anyone from Oldham if you book set singles from Manchester to Cheltenham then Cheltenhma to Swindon.

Tom - The Merlin near the roundabout is the usual meeting place of choice, and it's a decent boozer. I think the last time I was there a certain Mr Leach was in full gingerbread man get-up.

Doubt I'll be making this one.

  3.

When he had the ball in the second half he gave you that feeling players like Ricky,Eyrsie,Ritchie, Stainrod,Groves gave you,a feeling that something special is going to happen, brillaint.Worrall also very impresive1

Yup. It wasn't going to be another Walsall - there was no way he was going to miss that penalty. Worrall was exceptional as well.

  4. That 45 minutes in the second half from Harkins was the greatest performance i have ever witnessed a professional player give...

Certainly not far off. More than a shade of Ricky Holden about him today. And like Ricky he looks like he just got out of bed ten minutes before the match. He also has the ability to be everywhere at once despite looking like the slowest man on the pitch ( including the ref) . Superb performance.

  5.

If the manager of a professional football league club, logged onto the fans message board and took even the slightest bit of a notice of what was being said then i'd want him strung up on the town hall steps.

    What a load of bollocks.

So basically we all have to be positive all the time about manager, club and players in case anyone of them happens to log on here and gets upset or offended by it. Ok then. zzzz

Just as I mentioned last week, a few people were getting on the manager's back, I said it wouldn't be long before the brews and biscuits were out in play again, he's a brilliant salesman.

I hope you're all still so positive after Oldham 0-1 Stevenage tomorrow.

He's a good salesman, which is no bad thing in terms of what he is trying to do with the club. I attended yesterday and one of the things he said that stood out was that he's trying to create ' a premier league club on a conference budget' ( Barry did point out it would have been a top end Conference club! ) Yep, he was on a charm offensive and it was a nice soundbite but it's clear that there has been big changes for the better since LJs appointment off the pitch. It was a very open and frank chat which maybe doesn't sound as positive as it was when written down/reported, but I think it's fair to say everyone left the room very impressed with his passion and vision for the club. He was also quite open about how we're not where we want to be in the League. After yesterday, I've no doubt we will be up there soon enough. Many thanks to the club for organising and for everyone who reported on it.

Barry did say that the club uses the site to gauge fan's opinions. Which again is no bad thing - but with all the toss posted on here I hope that they will use forums such as yesterday's q and a more. Doubt very much LJ would bother with the site and I really hope none of the players do!

  6. "oafctom - and I claim my five dollars!"

Oafctom is probably the least likely out of everyone there to have been causing any bother.

I saw a lot of stupidity and aggression yesterday. Had to cover the six- year old nephew's ears whilst the fans in front of me swore blind

at everyone behind them for asking them to sit down, before offering all and sundry to 'step outside'. The combination of a lot of drink and

big matches does bring out the bell end in a lot of folk. But that's football for you really. I didn't let it spoil the day.

  7. I've never been to Gillingham. Shame on me.

3 or 4 youngish lads in front of us in block 123 being absolute tools when asked to sit down. And an older guy with them who genuinely wanted to fight anyone asking them to sit down. These games do tend to bring out the berks .

Top day though, and with a bit more luck we could have nicked that. Tarky starting out his potential Liverpool career by scoring goals for them :laught30:
