  1. If it gets the seal of approval from the Council and the green light is given, I personally feel we should build a new family stand where the Lookers used to be. If that happens it could be built in a reasonable timescale.

For example, Hibernian knocked down their East Stand in January 2010 and rebuilt a completely new stand that held a capacity of 6'400 prior to the new season starting in August 2010. I believe it cost close to £4 million to build and that was including cost to knock down the old East Stand. 7 months to build, impressive.

This means that if Latics get the ball rolling, realistically it shouldn't take any longer than 6-9 months to build a brand spanking new main stand with all the fancy bits inside including offices, changing rooms and a club shop. If the cost isn't ridiculous there should be money left over, so I say with that get rid of the current main stand and rebuild a small, all-standing stand in its place that holds a few thousand of us there. I know if it was all-standing it would make all the hardcores (do we have any?!) happy as they cannot bare to sit down for any longer than 10 seconds or so.

Here is a clip of Hibernian's East Stand being built from start to finish if any of you are interested...

  2. Oh no, the badge has changed. I better get my GP to prescribe me some anti-depressants before I jump off the top of the Chaddy End headfirst. I'm never going to be able to handle this.

GET A GRIP. Its a badge people.

Then again, thinking about it, its not like us to whinge and whine about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING.

  3. Some people on here need to stop getting personal with others.

Anyhow, I have only been to 6 games this season and it doesn't matter whether you have only been to one game or every game this season, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

So what if someone isn't going to come to BP anymore? They still have the right to say what they think about the club, not come on here and get another getting venomous about their personal life. Grow up.

  4. I was incredibly brassed off last night. Refused entry when there was clearly seats available after contacting mates inside who said there was plenty available. The stewards attitude towards me was unacceptable. I decided I would go home as I hadn't a chance of getting inside and I was walking outside the main entrance and saw two season ticket, yes elderly season ticket holders refused entry after a steward said to one of them "we cannot let another person in as we would breach safety regulations" only to let in 4 youth team players in moments later. Disgusting.

Clearly didn't plan it through last night. Clearly more interested in making a quick buck than keeping the real fans happy.

  5. sorry didnt reply sooner mate but yes we have some spaces still left if you fancy it.Let me know on here or text or call me on 07754849746 and i,ll pop your name down.regards..mike

I was going to go to the match but I have family plans instead but I would love to pop in the Rifle for a pint of San Mig and a butty after I've pumped some iron at the gym.

Are you putting on some turkey and stuffing buttys on?

  6. If I could have it the way I want it;

8000-10000 seater stadium with a conference/function room within the stadium along with 5/6 executive boxes inside that is located in the Oldham borough with 3G pitches dotted around the place, with a view to expand and fill in the corners of the stadium. A gymnasium on-site for the players and open to the public would be a good way to generate even more income too.

    It'll never happen though!

  7. My loyalties are with the town the club is from. If the club moves to Tameside permanently then it ceases to be my club.

I don't agree with that statement and other similar statements made on here. Its your view so I respect it, but my response is that if it means that Oldham Athletic is alive and kicking at a brand spanking new stadium a stones throw outside of the borough of Oldham it will be an incredibly good thing for the club and the fans. I believe the club would have new fans if a move outside of Oldham occurred. Please note, I do not want it to happen but if it is the best for the club then I'm all for it.

I know its a different matter but if a family member or your partner you love moved to a different town to you, you wouldn't cease your feelings and love for them just because of that reason would you? A bit far-fetched but hey...

  8. no he was sat behind me in one of the boxes at the back of the main stand with lewis alessandra in the second half wasnt escorted out.

Don't lie. My trustworthy and honest source at the Rifle told me he was escorted out after confronting Dickov in an aggressive manner after Jaffa-gate occurred.
