  1. The shareholding position of Oldham Athletic (2004) AFC Ltd, taken from the club's Annual Return submitted to Companies House on 9/12/09, is as follows:-

Simon Blitz 49 Ord £1 A shares (Full voting rights)

Daniel Gazal 48 Ord £1 A shares (Full voting rights)

The Supporters Trust 3 Ord £1 B shares (No voting rights)

The fact that it's Messrs Blitz and Gazal who own the club leads me to believe that Simon Corney hasn't invested anything! He has simply been running the club on a daily basis for them, together with Alan Hardy.

He could have made a loan..strange he's not got any shares though

  2. I'm genuinely gutted it didn't work out for DP, when he started I thought he was the man for the job after doggygate etc. But he just seems to be out of his depth at this level.

I didn't go tonight but have been to most games this season, and came away from brighton after spending £40ish (took my lads) feeling very disconcerted.

I went on the Man U Old Trafford stadium tour this week (munich bastards), and outside the players changing room is all the premiership titles they've won with us listed on there with the top flight. Brought a lump to my throat...how things used to be...gotta be Penney out now.

  3. I spent about £30 last night...thinking twice about saturday, I just come away feeling depressed.

I'd never boo my own team though, thats just wrong. I agree with DP about lack of fitness, pav looked knackered.

They were there for the taking though and if we don't win these we're going down - Its not too soon to talk about relegation cos DP ain't changing his boring tactics.

^Burritobrother welcome to the club, its not often we get new fans lol. Hope you enjoy the game.

  4. (I know he scored yesterday, but even that was lucky, most strikers would have put that away no problem, he had to rely on a lucky deflection off the defender!)

I thought the goal was well taken, he did well to get around those defenders either side of him - I had an excellent view BTW.

  5. QUOTE (Macca @ Dec 7 2009, 23:26 PM)

Does anybody care about Latics anymore or are we here to just laugh and criticise whatever the club does or doesn't do? With the attitudes shown on here, why do we bother anymore? I don't think it helps much.

Should we just not have bothered with this? Let apathy rule?

    Good posts.

    Damned if I do , damned if I don't

It will be interesting to cross reference if anyone has raised a marketing suggestion, then made a comment above...

I think the cheap game on saturday is an excellent idea, as long as DP changes tactics and makes it an exciting attacking game - maybe then we'll retain a few fans.

The potential is definitely here in the town to get a buzz about the club, look at BFJ's return, it was only cos the games that followed were so poor the half hearted supporters got disillusioned. I'm not blaming BFJ btw, he shouldn't have returned unless he was gonna see it through

  6. i was of no opinion before norwich game, but i'm quickly wondering if he is the right choice after watching that toothless crap.

Yep at least score some goals while we're relegated, make it entertaining at least FFS. Agree with most of the post, the potential is there with the crowds, but not playing the most boring, disinterested football ever. I took a girl to a game a few weeks back and she said "they're not bad for part timers", she genuinely thought they were postmen etc lol

  7. As has been said, If we're gonna lose at least lets play entertaining football and lose 4-2. At least the spectators will have seen an exciting match. DP's record is pretty good I'm sure he'll sort it, if he changes tactics. I'm with corporal jones (on a different thread), I'm going to struggle to watch latics in division 4, especially when premier league soccer will be around the corner. (I'd never desert latics really! :)

  8. It isn't because of the recession that people at BP are on a downer. It's the sense of drift created by the abject decline over the past fifteen years, and the recent false dawns. Perhaps you can add a widespread realisation that this is as good as it gets now.

It probably is as good as it gets unless moneys pumped in. BUT there is always the outside chance that it could be better (team gels together, couple of superstar kids come through etc), thats why I go, and probably why most ppl support there local team and not one of the big clubs.

Its going to be very strange driving to failsworth, just won't feel right.

  9. For me it's not gonna take something spectacular to get me back. I just want to enjoy going to a football match again. Win, lose or draw.

I love going to BP on a Saturday, ppl expect too much from the team, we've always been rubbish, thats why its more enjoyable if we win.

All the moaners should support united or city. I've been going since the early seventies (my big brother took me when I was little), and the chaddy end's not changed that much, except for less singing and more negativity, but everyone in Oldham seems to be on a downer at the moment, probably cos of the recession. I go to latics to forget all that and enjoy a couple of hours with my son. PPL should see it for what it is.

  10. I think we'll get beat. Oh well, expect the worst and hope for the best.

Thats what being a latics fans all about :)

If we turn it up and play like we can then we might sneak a win. Rubes played well on sunday except for giving away the free kick, just need the new keeper to come up with the goods and they shouldn't score...hopefully

    Tel: 0161 652 5778

Turn up at the park on Shaw Road, next to Our Lady's school in Royton for 10am on Saturday or Sunday.

£4 for 2 hours. Tends to be an hour or so of skills training and an hour of informal match. The bigger lads and the smaller lads are split up, so he's not going to get knocked over by an over-zealous teenager!

4 is young, but he does have some small ones there. Watch him and see if he enjoys it or not.

If you're referring to his dispute with the council over payment for using the land, then I understand that a mutually agreeable compromise was reached.

I think he's moving it to the soccer factory in rochdale next to Tesco, at the same times, so I'd phone him first. My son whose 7 goes there and Kev's brilliant with him (and all the other kids)
