  1. You couldn't have picked a worse pub than the clayton green mate. get in the queens or the grey mare or the white hart next time.

I allready thought that. We had not the intention to go to the clayton but as I said it was allready late. Next time better. The queens looked a bit rough to me. Om my way back I saw police outside the queens en I saw a lot of youngmen with caps who looked not so happy.

  2. Hey lads,

My apoligies for the late reply. Of course I was at the game! Me and my brother had a great weekend in Manchester. We had the plan to go to the Rifle Range pub. But we thought kick off time was at 16.00. (dutch time of course). So we arrived at BP at about 1400. On our way to RR we realised kick off time was at 1500. So we had a quick drink in the pub near the chaddy stand. cant remember the name. But that pubs was full of posh fans. A bit dissapointing. After that we went to our seats in the chaddy stand. And we had a very good time despite the defeat. In the first half we sat on top of the stand right behind the goal. In the second half we sat between the goal and the main stand very close to the pitch. There was a lad waving a flag near us. Perhaps you ve seen him. I think the game was quite okay. You could have won from the number two. The ref was an idiot. Referee you w####r.. you w####r.. Good song! Sorry CJ youre not right again. I can show you photos too!

  3. What's your problem? Most people have welcomed the (cough) dutchman with open arms. Or opn rms as he might put it.

Apologies to the man if he turns out to be genuine, but as time goes on you might find yourself becoming more sceptical about many things, LL. In the meantime concentrate on what you're going to do when you have to start shaving.

Well Corporal just look at my conversation with Lags in this thread....

    Says it all.......

To the rest: Thank you for the warm welcome! Looking forward to my journey to Oldham!

  4. I've worked abroad on and off for years, in countries as diverse as Spain, Germany and Russia. No foreigner I've ever met who hasn't lived in Britain would use the term 'fav pub.' It's actually too colloquial and 'teenager' for most of those who've been settled here for years.

I've explained in the Sheridan thread why I wasn't on here last week: I was on holiday. Glad you missed me; I never even thought about you.

When there's some success to celebrate at this club then I'll be as positive as anybody.

Well in my best english I would have said "favourite" pubs. But considering the fact Im a bit lazy I said "fav". What point are you trying to make?

  5. 'So Im (sic) not the first dutch visitor? Is the Rifle on (sic) of your fav pubs?' does indeed sound like the authentic expression of an English speaking Dutchman.

    Or should that be dutchman?

Well sorry for my english. Unfortunately this is my best english....

    Are you the forum teacher?

I should say dutchman. Small country...
