  1. they've done that at the Cricket for Twenty20 games, £12 in advance, £18 on the day

problem is that players wages in the Premiership are paid by TV money so the Prem clubs can subsidise the ticket prices

Not just football an cricket that do this. Gigs are more on the door than buying prior. However you get the handling and booking fee, but its the risk of it selling out and having to pay the dreaded tout prices.

  2. I fail to see how you can get planning permission and then move the building 50 yards further away. These things are fairly specific.

Look at todays Chron in regards to mosques being built over the planned specs.

do you not think its more a case of the council saying...look we know we dropped you in the :censored: with failsworth,if we give you this cash please dont sue us...

and yes, there are plenty of other places available to build on in oldham...

so if were going down the community route,in reality what could they put in to the build????? as i see it if its going to have a hotel and conferencing facilities, there wont be any room for community things...we cant put a cinema into it,there building one in hollinwood, and possible a bowling alley....so i really dont see this new stand being a community project, money will be made from hotel group and conferencing, which makes a mint...

Possible we could take a % of the income like a mafia boss offering protection but in our case as a way to stop us sueing the council?

I've had an energy saving/supplying idea for ages that I want to look into properly. alas I'm short on time and qualifications, the blueprints are drawn on beer mats B)

  3. Not done in the spoons kitchen that I know about. If there were any unsold at the end of the night the manager would be up the creek. Every morsal of food is counted in and counted out, that's how they make a profit. Well that and paying their staff peanuts.

them peanuts on the menu? Sound safer to eat than the food

  4. I think £13 is the expensive end of the scale. Your only likely to pay anywhere near that for something like an imax 3d showing on opening day. Pretty safe to assume that any new cinema in Oldham won't have an imax screen. For a normal, non 3D showing in an evening you would be looking at 9-10 quid going off Odeon prices, or 11-12 quid for a 3D film.

Can't really see which chain would feel the need to open a cinema in Oldham. Vue have cinemas in Bury, Bolton, Salford Quays. Cineworld have branches in Ashton, South Manchester, Stockport,Odeon are in Manchester City Centre, Trafford Centre, Rochdale, and Showcase have a fairly big one in North Manchester.

So maybe one of the smaller one's like AMC or Empire cinemas?

Maybe we could go from none...to THREE!

I'd like a cinema that also took pride in none hollywood blockbuster films too

  5. or wait until you pick your season ticket up, and use your £10 voucher and your teamcard points when you buy a shirt and a new beach towel…I want one but I have to say since the Umbro years the kits have not been worth the money, even though I buy them 2 or 3 at a time if the kids want one…the last kit I didn't buy new was the green and navy pony effort…15 years ago!

The shorts for that kit were my faves when I was playing for my school

  6. He has now demanded, (on oafc site)this thread get closed because it insults him, he really does need help im afraid, and no one can have any sympathy for the guy who is a pathological liar, who posts on numerous clubs forums in differant guises. The sooner he gets banned from ALL forums the world will be a much better place.

    Not until he's granted a super-injunction.

  7. They have no money. They werent going to invest a penny from their own pockets. They were planning to buy us with high interest loans and charge hundreds of thousands of pounds to the club for their services. They wanted to make a profit for themselves in a couple of years time, and the only way to do this would be to sell our ground, and training ground.

Sheff Wed turned them down, we turned them down, something tells me they're not up to much.

We've already got owners doing that with us thanks very much!

  8. :censored: it, i carnt be arsed with you dickheads. the player is clayton donaldson. there you go. played non league with york city and played at hull city too.

    Was that so hard really?

We may be in for him but this cannot be the player the website is refering too.

The OS states the mystery Striker is from a Top English Club and has scored 90 goals in 165 games. Neither of these stats match up with Clayton Donaldson.

So congrats on knowing the name of a transfer coup that has nothing to do with the article

    http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsUpdate/0,,10337~2371155,00.html

Key words in the article being 'over'.

"The striker who has held talks with the club has found the net over 90 times in just over 165 appearances at both non-league and Football League level."

SOOO it could be anything from 150 goals in 200 appearances, 160 in 201....

  9. Agreed LL.

Do you remember the AFC Wimbledon fan who came into the Chaddy End When we had to beat MK Dons to relegate them. I think under Ronniesaurus (could be wrong).

There he was, as large as life with his AFCW shirt on and just gave us all a big smile. He got a great reception from the Latics fans.

It was areal football fan moment. Good luck to them. I wonder what happened to that AFCW fan?

Weren't there a few of them who had come up to watch it? was talking about it with my mate the other day.

Not had any help since the horrible events to happen to the club and put my name on the list of people hoping they meet in the near future and turn them over in the franchise' stadium!

  10. I was just buying the day's fags, skins and special brew and noticed a "Taylor - why I stayed" headline on the chron? Anybody read it?

I read it. Wasn't much of an interview tbh. got the feeling he stayed cause of the good position we were in and that the club are expecting more offers over the summer.

"I wasn't really close at all to leaving. The manager pulled me into his office and told me there was a decent offer. At the time I was flying and playing well - I had just scored at Carlisle - and I just said that with us in th play offs I am not ready to go anywhere"

  11. and also their willingness/ability to give up their full time jobs for a short term contract

    student = no job!

He says he's always wanted to be a pro footballer so will prob take a chance if offered it rather than a job.

Jobs pay real money but following dreams an reaching them has a better satisfaction.

    Definately worth having a look.

  12. Poor player probably isn't the word, but he wasn't exactly technically gifted, was he? Had a great knack of being in the right place at the right time.

A trait that so many forwards don't have. Especially at our level.

OT. Wouldnt have him back. I'm sure his mum will make the right choice for him....

  13. I heard from a few people that he is on his way back. Probably nonsense really. I think Dickinson could do a job here

 that has to be a joke!

    le fondre: apps goals

    stockport 63 18

    rochdale 98 38

    rotherham 91 50

    252 106

    dickinson

    stockport 93 33

    derby 0 0

    hudd 36 6

    b-pool 7 4

    leeds 8 0

    brighton 27 4

    p'borough 9 3

    barnsley 3 0

    wallsall 4 0

    r'dale 14 0

    201 50

Le fondre is looking at scoring about 50% of games, Dickinson at just under 25%.

I'd take a player from lower league as they wanna prove themselves rather than someone whos from higher league and has that "I've done it all already" mentality I.E. Feeney/Reid an what appears to be, Dickinson.
