just seen the 3rd goal on ssn and it looked very soft

 

9 times out of 10 it will be given as a foul on the goal keeper

 

the problem is keepers expect it to be given in their favour nowadays evertime

 

if cisak is a little stronger in the challenge ans shows more authorityby making the contact with the striker himself he would probably have got the decision

 

possible contact but poor keeping imo...oh well

Last night a meeting was held of the playershare committee to take stock of where the fans scheme was currently at and how we could move the scheme forwards to aid PD in the future. It was my very first time in attendance since I was asked would I join the committee to over look it and I want this scheme to be as inclusive to all as is possible.

 

Why did I get involved? Because I've seen how the Trust some how to so many became disenfranchised from one another and didn't want to see this fans scheme go the same way. I heard PD talk so well of the scheme and how he truely appreciated every single penny that went into it and after it aided the signing of Cedric, I wanted to know more. The major thing that sold this scheme to me was the very fact every single penny that goes into the pot is there for PD to use as amd when the money is available and he's tried every other avenue. Which in turn means a crucial loan signing or perm deal that plugs the missing jigsaw peice is a real possibility. It is something we the fans can truely say that it's help from us and directly. Anyway enough of me and the committee we ain't the deal here.

 

On to some stuff that was discussed and decided. Bare in mind this is my take and a news letter will be out in due course. Some of you maybe aware that a fan named Jan has started a pin badge sale, in the collection of this special playershare pin badge range there will be 5 possibly 6 backing colours for fans to purchase and collect. It was decided that the gold backing pin badge would be given free to all fans who contribute monthly in to the scheme. Included all back members to memebr number one (so we need to identify all these currently contributing and some go back years!!) Just as a thank you and something to wear with pride I guess. This will not cost the scheme a penny has a member of the scheme is footing this bill, it's not a lot but it's there.

 

It was also decided the scheme indeed is so inclusive to all, any fan in any shape or form the scheme is theirs. So to this end we are actively seeking monthly contributions from ex players and new players alike just like the fans. Lets see who joins, watch this space! so it's not going to be all us for them again, it's everyone pulling together for the greater good of club (OAFC)

 

Member get together's doubled up as recruitment drives are to be organised within willing pubs in different parts of Oldham. Giving everyone the chance to get to their nearest. Senior management and possibly players are to be asked to give up there time to help in these ventures again, in an effort to make it inclusive that we are all pulling together like we should be because that is what this fund of money is for. End product out on the pitch. Something tangible we all can see.

 

The usual posters and leaflets are to be look into but we all know that's an old numbers game and not very productive. What is though is everyone getting on board and telling Latics fans far and wide.

 

That's enough cos some of you won't have got this far. So lastly this fund is used for nothing else. It's there for PD and no other ventures, black holes or lightbulbs. If this sounds like something you'd back............... back it. Cheers Lags.

Excellent post Lags , lets hope Playershare really kicks on now that new people are involved and many more feel the urge to get involved in either donations or even just giving time.

Agree totally Prozac and as you say it only has to be a quid and of course some people cant contribute cos of different circumstances , but i,m not having it that only 50 to 60 Tics fans can afford a quid or more , its more likely that there are underlying reasons it hasnt kicked on and been much more successful , but thats by the by, whats important now is that people need to be convinced its a seperately run scheme with a seperate committee of dynamic people willing to give there time up for free to try and make a difference cos it goes straight to P.D. to use as he sees fit and really can mean the difference between us signing someone and not doing.

Good idea but think it should be run through the Trust, they're the ones running this scheme.

It IS run through the trust macca but a very seperate part of it solely for Player Share ,and now there are new people with new ideas involved combined with some present members like opinions4u who come up with cracking ideas , the time is right to kick on and make it the success it should be !!

Any 'marketing' campaign for Playershare should solely be based on 'if you can afford it and want to contribute, feel free to do so.'

 

Guilt tripping/'forcing' people into it just won't work.

Your right Mike, even from our own poor attendances of 3,000 that's bad.

 

Any ideas of how we can push this/promote this further guys? Is it too late for the last game of the season to have the application forms at the turnstyles, the bookies, the pie counter, the beer counter?

 

Hell, I will even stand outside the club shop if I need to and hand these out but with clothes on before anyone decides to edit my post.....

 

What about the player/fans match too?

 

Can we not organise something over summer worlds biggest BBQ on clayton etc.

 

we really need some promoting but I am not the greatest on ideas.

 

Dare we sit down in a beer garden and come up with some suggestions?

Every idea and every bit of effort is more than welcome Tracy and close season is just as important so lets get a few ideas kicking around ( although can we leave the cream sodas till AFTER we have discussed the ideas or we might get a few "blurred" ones

Its only fair that the bloke responsible for the fantastic idea of pin badges sold for player share should get all the accolades and having just spoke to him now hes happy to be identified as owtb username "anotherfan " , so fair play to the fella for coming up with the idea and lets hope its a real money spinner for the playershare.
