  1. Speaking of surreal moments..... I was in Lower Main Stand yesterday, and a Latics fan two rows in front of me was getting, let's say, extremely excited by some of Mr Dowd's refereeing decisions. At one point the fan ran down to the barrier and hurled abuse at Dowd, who told himto sit down and shut up!! In nearly 50 years of watching football I've never seen anything like it!!

Iwas it the same guy that fell through the gate when we scored.so funny.
  2. Been having this conversation a couple of times recently...

as a latics fan (who shouldn't like either) who do you prefer out of the two manchester clubs?

i've been saying united because they tend to play the better football and i dont like how city have suddenly become a 'big club' because of the money but still play really boring italian football.

other fans i know though have been saying city though and by saying united, it's against latics...

    so city or united?

hate city with a passion.

  3. are you having a laugh???

Have you seen the league table????

Dickov has done an amazing job and brought some great players in. you have to remember we have played a hell of alot of games in january and febuary when really the games in hand shoul have been spread across march and april too. I would have taken the league position after last season so you're just talking out of your arse.

well said.who ever wants dickov out are total knobs.

  4. Totally an over-reaction. Of course all Oldham fans think we should have won against the bottom side, but football is a funny owd game.

Look what happened in the prem, bottom side beat top side (not mentioning names ^_^ )

One swallow doesn't make a summer, and 2 dropped points doesn't mean we are not going up......... yet.

it will be forgotten about when we stuff the inbreds from gayfarm on saturday

  5. I like "Naughty" the Stoke one. The fictional Tranny one was really good.

As for films, I.D. was brilliant as was the original Firm. The remake of the Firm though was an insult to the original. Absolutely terrible :-(

If anyone has a copy or if anyone knows Carl any chance you could ask him if he's got any left I can buy as I'd still like to get hold of one, even if a couple on here think its sh1t.

oldham get a good write up in stoke's n40 book.we are mentioned in most of the books i have read.

  6. Did I hear right last year that some clubs include their season tickets bought / but not attended (on the day)which boosts the figures? Because I also seem to remember that Latics count the number of seats taken on the day wheras County report tickets sold (including none attending ST holders)?????

Also to be fair they played Shrewsbury......... 1 hour away who were going against their sacked manager of 2 months ago........... now if Latics were away agianst say... Crewe if Dave badPenney was in charge we would have a following there!

to be honest,i love my club, but i cant get excited about home games.give me away games anyday.better day out and fans who actually get behind the team from start to finish.

  7. Why did supporters boo? Frustration? Disapointment? Boredom? Paying twenty quid to watch a nil-nil bore fest?

As quite rightly pointed out, the boos were very much in the minority to the applause at full time. From the Chaddy, the latics fans got behind the team pretty well with the first audible whinge not until late on in the game.

did'nt hear any boo's myself.we are unbeaten in a playoff spot.i'll take that anyday.these knobs who boo need to get a grip.

  8. Aye, I remember too that rather than keep the Latics fans in the stand after the final whistle the police decided to let them out the stand, but keep them fenced in in the car park allowing us to be targeted by missiles from the locals. Great policing.

My other memory of that day was at half time, when a group of children from Chernobyl were brought onto the pitch, the PA announcer claiming that they were in Mansfield for two weeks on the 'trip of a lifetime'. Really hits you how bad the fall-out was from the disaster when a trip to Mansfield is the best thing that's going to happen to you...

i remember the locals all wearing denim jackets, huge weird looking blokes baying for our blood after the game.
