  1. You've got to be on the wind-up but, just in case: his experience has only served show his ability is limited (as in too limited) and he has no knowledge of the club in its current form. He hasn't been involved with Latics for well over a decade.

I disagree, of all the candidates, he is the best. He has experience, enthusiasm, great contacts, and a love for the club.

  2. Ok then I will rephrase this, despite the fact I think you are blatantly on the windup. I knew why he was sacked I was trying to get you to justify your opinion in light of his poor record, which you are clearly struggling to do.

Lee richardson was sacked after over two seasons in charge at Chesterfield after two failed playoff attempts. They lost to Bradford City 2-0 on the last day of the 2008-2009 season, and there was fans protests outside the ground after the game in which fans were calling for his head. his managerial CV consists of a relegation, two failed playoff attempts and a parting of ways which was not his choice, based on his failures at Chesterfield.

He is up against candidates for the Oldham job who

    - Know alot more about the club and the existing players than he does

    - Who are held in much higher regards by the fans than he is

    - Who have more coaching experience than him

    - Who have learned their trade at a higher level than him

    - Who have managed at a higher level than him

    - Who have more promotions on their CV than him

In light of this, how can you justify your argument that you think Lee Richardson is the best candidate for the Oldham job?

He is up against candidates for the Oldham job who

    - Know alot more about the club and the existing players than he does. Mark Crossley? Nicky Butt? Frankie Bunn? Jim Gannon? Yeah they all know the club inside out.

    - Who are held in much higher regards by the fans than he is Mark Crossleuy, Nicky Butt, Jim Gannon, Andy Richie? Ha ha ha.

    - Who have more coaching experience than him Mark Crossley, Nicky Butt?

    - Who have learned their trade at a higher level than him As Above

    - Who have managed at a higher level than him AS Above

    - Who have more promotions on their CV than him AS Above plus Frankie Bunn.

    Great Argument pal.

    Talk about deluded

  3. No your the one on here trying to defend richardson and tell us what a good manager he is, you tell us, if he is such a great manager, why did chesterfield opt for hiring John Sheridan as opposed to renewing Lee Richardsons contract?

Like i say, ask the people that made the decision. And Sheridan has done loads better too.

  4. Yeah into the Unibond Premier League- WOW. Well done him he gets to play against that glorified pub team FC United of Manchester. If he/you gets Halifax promoted from there then maybe you can crow about his/your managerial skills- but hopefully you won't be coming back on here because the person we've appointed has actually done some good.

Oh, done your research have we. Lets just get Capello-he's got a proven track record.

  5. I run off a list of people who have come out and declared their interest in the job, hence we can assume these people definitely want it.

I then went on to say I would personally rather have any of these candidates, on the basis of the qualities which they offer (which are outlined in a thread at the top of the forum called the candidates), than Richardson. As apart from maybe Crossley, all have much stronger CV's than Richardson does, and at the end of the day

    1) You still have not answered why Rico has been out of work for a year if he is such a good manager, or

    2) Why having a CV which consists of a relegation, failed playoff push and a sacking warrants him a crack at the Oldham job, given the strengths of the other candidates.

But hell, its no skin of my nose. At the end of the day he was 25/1 for a reason, cos he aint getting the job, which is good enough for many on here.

Loads of good managers have been out of work for ages-Greame Souness, Mark Hughes

Alan Curbishley there are just more managers than jobs. Also he did'nt get sacked, his contract expired.

  6. Because that guy has been on this board a good while and is generally well respected because of his conduct on the boards

You have been on here for less than a week and you already have a bee in your bonnet about something.

Oh OK, i see, so if your new on here, you have to fall into line and agree with everything the experienced members say. OK.

  7. No, but I was making the point that based on the individual qualities they have (see the candidates thread), all of these would have more of a shout than Richardson.

Why on earth do you think that a manager who has been out of work for over 12 months with nothing to his CV but a relegation and a sacking deserves the job over someone like

Paul Simpson: Two promotions on his CV and managed at all three levels of the football league

Martin Gray: More coaching experience than Richardson and also knows more about the existing squad than any other candidate

Frankie Bunn: 12 years experience at top clubs such as Wigan, City and Coventry

If Rico is such a fantastic manager, why has he been out of work for over a season

You said they are ideal candidates because they have publicy declared their interest.

  8. I bet Dean Saunders (who it was pointed out to me isn't doing all that good a job at Wrexham, when i posted this 18 days ago) or Dean Holdsworth have actually got some quite good contacts.

Considering you have quoted the same post from me again, despite the fact I posted it 18 days ago makes me wonder what your problem is? Are you Lee Richardson's agent, do you have a whole bunch of money on him, are you Lee Richardson himself- in which case thanks for your goals against Charlton on debut, but I hope you don't get near the job- you failed at Chesterfield FFS (getting a team near the playoffs with their budget is certainly not a success). What has Neil Aspin done in non-league? Or does the above apply to Neil Aspin instead of Lee Richardson?

I'm neither of those things, were all allowed our favourites, i see that one guy seems to LOVE Ronnie Moore, he's not getting the abuse I am.

Neil Aspin has got FC Halifax promoted with NO money whatsoever. And he has a great eye for young talent.
