  1. The Midlands' pickle would be from Branston, Burton-on-Trent (birthplace of Craig Davies), where there is a nice golf course if you're thinking of visiting, although it's a fair way from Oldham.

    I'd like to join in this joke-a-thon, but having been out on the p1ss i'm feeling a bit in the rough so i'm bunkered.......

    Anyway - you started going well before '71 - I remember you coming home telling me about beating Scarborough 9-nil in the Third Div North!

    no you're dreaming-we were firmly anchored at the bottom end of the 4th division when i went with jez wellock and his dad-i can remember a night game against grimsby in the p*ssing rain as one of my first games at ice station zebra.

    up to going to watch latics i used to go and watch celtic at bower fold, the main atraction there being the free pies halfway through the second half when the canteen staff decided they'd brought too many to sell!
