"alleged intentions to make a bid".........."none of us are aware of any official bid that has been made". If he intends to make a bid then he'll probably do so, when and only when, he's got all his ducks in a row and covered every aspect of his business plan.As a result of recent speculation together with press, radio and television comments by Marwan Koukash , Director Barry Owen has issued the following statement on behalf of the Chairman and Board of Directors of Oldham Athletic Football Club.
I am aware of comments and media interest centred on Marwan Koukash and his alleged intentions to make a bid to buy the Oldham club. I have spoken to the Chairman Simon Corney, who is currently in New York, and my colleague Ian Hill and none of us are aware of any official bid that has been made to acquire the football club.
At any such stage that a bid is received it will be carefully scrutinised and considered. The Chairman has indicated in the past that the sale of the club must have its best interests as a priority and that has not changed. The Chairman has asked me to tell all fans that they will be fully informed of all events.
Didn't Mike Keegan and co resurrect the undertones from the previous story....MK merely answered his questions this time around! MK obviously appears to very interested and I'm in no doubt that something will happen but he's still working on the bigger picture, when he's ready then we'll get a bid.
The club statement tells us nothing because as we all knew, there's nothing to tell just yet....I'm sure as soon as some sort of bid is lodged, we'll all be the first to know, thanks to the club. .

We'll fill our end and in usual Latics style, get dicked and play :censored:e!!
The optimist in me has just had a word with the pessimist, we both agree it'll be a cracking turn out, we'll play beautiful football and bag a hat full!

Decides to go to University and plot out a proffession that will give him stability in life; seems he's a level headed kid with his feet firmly on the ground.Quits Latics and, seemingly, retires from the game...
Guess he'll study and play part time.......good luck to the kid.

think you're bang on, plenty of interest in The Moston Beckenbauer but no firm offers yetI think more to partner Tarkowski, Groujds back at LB and Mills only has a couple games left on his loan.

sums it it perfectly, ohhhhh Jonson Clarke-Harris!While I'm sad to see Jose go and it won't be the same raising a glass of the old pink to the human league, I count myslef blessed to have had the pleasure of seeing the talent that is Jose Baxter perform at mecca for the last 12 months.
I think it's fair to say that he is arguably the most talented player we have had on our books in the last 10 years. It really has been a bonus to have had him here and for us as a club it was massive that we got him to sign a 2 and a 1/2 year contract in January. Not huge in terms of the sell on clause, but huge because it gave us enough to ensure survival last season and huge because he played such a big part in our cup run.
We were losing money hand over fist last season until that cup run and have probably ended up breaking even on the back of it. Staying up was huge to us as a club and Jose played a big part in that despite the stats saying otherwise. It's not all about what happens on the pitch, Thats only 90 minutes of the week. What happens in the dressing room and on the training pitch is equally as important and Jose's "spirit" lifted the place. The scouse humour brought the Royle feeling back and it is so important that the dressing room has spirit.
We will miss Jose, how much I'm not sure because we have a cute (no girls not that sort of cute) manager who plans meticulously and who clearly knew what was coming. He's known for sometime that Jose would be off. He's planned for it. Rooney, Mc Donald, Dayton Smeltz Philliskirk and now todays addition. The firepower has been replaced.
It's gutting, but not as gutting as it would have been if we'd lost him to Taggart junior in last January. I'm also gutted that he's not gone up a league. Yes Sheffield United are a bigger club than us, have bigger support, a bigger history bigger wage bill, bigger dickheads, but let me leave you with this thought for the weekend.
That bigger club who have taken our best player are still 7 places below us in league 1.
Lets take 3 points tomorrow and move on. Thanks Jose and all the best.
