It wont be exact , but i am sure we went practically 3 months without a win culminating in a home defeat to Orient in the FA CUP 3rd round. This was the low point. Shortly after Paul Jones from Bolton , Andy Linighan from Leeds and the other Leeds signings soon after and the good times began.
That was mid season . This shower needed to win 1 game in March or April to hit the playoffs. I would get rid of every single one of them if it was possible.

There was still some diplomacy in the interview , I don't think he can truly speak his thoughts , but he looked to me ashamed of the players performance and was as despairing as the fans.

Frank and the long suffering fans deserve so much more. No wins since Feb , very few goals , even fewer at the end of matches. Will they have the cheek to try an end of season lap of honour next week ?

Am I correct in thinking the only day now available is Thursday 18th April , if teams are not to play on consecutive days ?
'Veterans' may recall we were given an extension in 89/90 to the following Monday . Even with this, we had to play Sat Tue Thu Sat Mon.

'Pub team' , they may be . that only sheds a negative light on our players and management and their pathetic , abysmal efforts in the last 2 months.

The Chaddy End was a wonderful place to be ......but only in the standing era. The atmosphere and noise that was created in those times was the best, all seater stadiums ended this. As a experience in the seated world , the Rochdale Road end is a a great stand .

Eight (8) games without a win , February 27th the last win. This manager and the majority of these players still here in August .....what a depressing thought.

Until the goal it was like an end of season dead rubber. They have not a clue how to move as a formation playing a high defensive line. Anybody still think this manager is the solution ?

The post match interviews are a cure for insomnia , previous successes have no bearing on the pitiful month the club has just completed.

Not a single win in March , efforts on goal and goals scored as rare as rocking horse.......... Over to you Mr Manager......

I am quite confident of a win tomorrow , but I also feel there will be a defeat on Monday and that will be game over. How the club has gone from working hard into the playoffs , with more points than Halifax who had played 2 games more to being behind them now is abysmal. This cannot be blamed on the previous manager.

A strong finish with back to back wins is required , zero chance of this latest set of professionals at BP producing this . Another year without a promotion , 33 and counting , the fans who are now over 40 and have no such memories deserve a medal .

A truly bizarre division , an excellent performance on the back of a woeful one. In addition Barnet , Solihull , Altrincham and Gateshead ,the other 4 playoff hopefuls who played last night lost.
A beats B , B beats C , C beats A

How the bookies have them playing at home , 2 wins on the trot under a new manager , at a bigger price I have no idea. It can only be the good away record. A lot of pressure on the manager if there is yet another limp performance tonight.

Lots of criticism of football in the past .....they played on mudbaths , could be hacked to bits by centre halfs and did not treat every tackle as an opportunity for Oscar winning play acting. If they played today , they would have the same fitness ,diet and cosseting of todays players .

Still incorrect ,missed the FaCup semis , 13 games in 36 days.
-
Correction ....11 games in 36 days....

'Leggy'..... in 1989/90 as part of a 65 season long fixture list , Oldham played 10 games in 36 days , finishing the season with 4 games in 7 days .........

Remember how good both teams were when the rugby played games here in the 80's .....and there was the short lived American football as well. I imagine the price of the new surface incorporates the technology that will help it withstand the toil put on it by the 2 codes. Mind, the amount of 'Wimbledon' style hoofball played against Woking wont trouble the surface.
Yet another 'easy' looking home game tonight , time to win one and win it well.

I don't think TNT will be in any rush to show us again after that snoozefest. No goals from open play in 3 games , 2 at home and 2 against teams in the bottom 4 , is little short of pathetic. It looks to me the problem is the very defensive formation and the failure of midfield to create chances or dominate possession . Abandon the 5 at the back , and go to 4-4-2 . The division is terrible , Boreham Wood in 2nd haven't won in 5 ! I think the defence is ok , they appear to me to get caught a bit flat footed when trying to play offside. I think he should have brought Hammond on yesterday . The previous manager would have been tore to shreds for the last 2 inept displays , time to go the attack ,and try to win 4-2 , 3-2 . My daughter looked absolutely gutted after yesterdays display , and is normally very upbeat about the team. Let's succeed or fail going for it , not this drivel.

Yesterday was my first visit to BP in many years , having seen every home game between 1982 and 1992 and many games afterward, a first look at non league Oldham was interesting....to say the least. I do not understand why with the terrific crowds at home , the manager does not set up a very attacking formation from the start. It was 85 minutes before you could hear the roar of the crowd , as up to that point ,there had been little to stir the fans. The first half was terrible , I exempt Norwood and Fondop as they never saw the ball , the 8 outfield players behind them were shocking. Lundstram , Sheron and Conlon , what can you say , these 3 playing in front of a banner with 'yard dogs on it , the irony of it. I thought Hammond brought some hard work to the team and he and the full back made some ground late on down the flank. I do hope Mr Mellon can sort this inconsistency out . We have fans over the age of 40 who have never seen a promotion. I do hope for them , the wait wont be much longer.

Banger scored the winner against City ......this alone exempts him from this list.

Do we recall the surreal time Glenn Keeley was played as a striker ?
McNiven was dreadful ....how Cooper had a contract at Old Trafford is a mystery Agatha Christie could not solve......and that bloke who plays for Salford did not get many for us did he?

The recent games against teams at the top , attempted perception that draws were a positive as they could not beat us either ......They did not have to , as they had won games in March and were in a position were a draw was a satisfactory result .....we weren't ......get shut, don't care what past glories exist , irrelevant to what is happening here . He is not the solution.
