I’d be happy with Sol.

Has a lot of contacts, like Scholes.

Had a great playing career that should command respect and attract players & sponsors, like Scholes.

Has no chance of curbing the Lemmys, like Scholes.

Has management experience in the league that we’re in, which is a step up on Scholes.

If folks were reasonably happy about Scholes being appointed, they should feel the same about Sol, with the added reassurance that he understands the league and can work with difficult financial constraints.

The Sky televised game is a big opportunity for any protest.

Make it known that a protest is planned and Sky will be compelled to cover it.

Any protest in the ground needs to be light hearted but draw attention to the club so that people ask questions about what is going on.

Charlton fans do this well...no sex toys (No one’s kids need to see that! I took that as a joke idea), just something that can go viral online so that it becomes an issue that people outside of Oldham are interesting in. 

That will get the national media interested and they have a better chance of getting answers.

Sky cameras don’t face the crowd and don’t want to represent the EFL poorly so they won’t make a big deal of people leaving early or being dressed as clowns. They can’t avoid a few thousand tennis balls on a pitch and a stoppage to the game.

Has anyone received a penalty charge notice for parking on the club/hospital car park for the Morecambe game?

I’ve still got my blue ticket and match ticket but I wanted to see if anyone else has been done?

I’ll be appealing it but wanted to see if it’s happened to a few of us.

I didn’t think that night could’ve got much worse, but...

Even without a source, Financial Fair Play means there can’t be much left in the playing budget. We’ve signed three players who weren’t chosen by a new manager and can’t move other players on due to injury (Fane, Gardner, Coke). I’m not saying they’re on megabucks contracts but scant imagine there’s much leeway in the wage bill.

I wouldn’t like to see us play 5 in midfield every week but I respected our professionalism today. Team has been given an excuse to feel sorry for itself & showed far more strength of character than last year.

Senior figures in the dressing room obviously have a positive influence, so I don’t want Clarke to get it- we need him on the pitch.

There’s still a chance for promotion so a steady Eddy manager might be what we need. Not sure who that is though

This is a terrible way to treat someone who has done such a great job for tryclub for so many years.

i can’t imagine that Philliskirk did anything too bad if Burnley felt that  he was the right fit for their club.

I wish him all the best and still feel that he’s a loss to the club.

I agree that he’s not giving us a lot of information but I’m not sure that  the money owed (that he didn’t see in his awful effort at due diligence) would be part of our budget. I think that will be additional as it wasn’t known about.

Agreed BP. I hope he plays Haymer next week. Better to develop him than put Sam Graham in a position that doesn’t suit him. With Haymer, we’ll have a player of real value if he gets more games under his belt 

Purely for the penalty save, Iversen has it for me. We’d all still be there now if they had taken the lead. 

I know some folk don’t rate him but he did the defensive work well even though he wasn’t at his best.

I’ll get slated for saying it, but I’d take that effort over someone who is a 9 out of 10 some weeks but a 3 out of 10 on other weeks. 

Others will see it differently, but Gardner will be important for us this year 

Gardner not at his best today but I respect the lad for him continuously taking responsibility even when he knew he wasn’t having a good day. Not in good form but showed great character. 

If Baxter were fit enough, he’s got to play centre midfield.

I know that I’d have a different view of the FGR performance and result if I’d paid the best part of £100 to sit through a performance that everyone acknowledges was awful...

BUT, having not spent the money or had to watch how bad it was, an away draw against a team who had won 4-1 away on the first day- despite us having seven injuries, no money & (arguably) our best player suspended- is not the sort of result that makes me want a change of management.

I can’t appreciate how bad it was in the flesh, but it’s not the worst result we’ve ever had. I’m not inspired by Bunn’s press conferences but he’s clearly got a difficult job. I expect us to get tonked tomorrow, but Bunn needs more time.

Agreed. He’s been important and I really don’t think we’d have gone down if he’d stayed fit.

Assuming someone has spoken to the PFA, they’re well within their rights given how many times they’ve been paid late. That’s the right channel to go down & isn’t a public complaint on Twitter. 

Its fair enough whoever it was.

Not many of us would accept it without seeing a union rep.

He could be suspended for refusing fitness training if that’s true.

Either way, he’s saleable asset so why would we bad-mouth him publicly when we’re holding out for a decent fee?

All of it could be true or none of it. 

Someone might speculate but only Byrne can be 100% sure. I agree that he should go if he meant it, but if he’s just crap at tackling but was really trying to impress FB by showing commitment, that’s another thing altogether.

Where is that coming from?

I’m not his biggest fan, but a look back through these posts shows how fickle we are.

One minute, he’s amazing; the next, he’s terrible and we want him out.

Maybe, just maybe the truth is somewhere in between
