Tarkowski really had no option but to go believe me. I wish him well for his future and hope he can carry on developing as he has done over his time hear especially this last year where he was given a chance by LJ.
-
I have a spare ticket for the match tonight in the latics end. If Anyone is interested leave your phone number and I will phone you.
-
I would pick six. The core of the team Grounds, Tarkowski, Smith, Wes, Philly and Clark Harris.
-
Could someone who went to the match give me a assessment on how each player performed and what changes need to be made for next weeks game.
-
Totally agree he would be better staying put and get regular football under his belt and develop more under LJs football philposhpy. If he is going to go in January then I hope he goes to a team that actually play football, Stoke give me a break, what good is a ball playing CH in a team of hoofers, as for Newcastle, they have ruined too many decent players. A team like Swansea would be ideal for him. Just hope he stays because LJ will bring the best out of him, at his age regular games under a decent manager will do more to progress his career.

Always had the ability but just needed to fill out and gain strength which he as. Plus stay injury free and keep his concentration levels up.
-
No! But do know of him through junior football.
I have no reason to wind anyone up. I will keep you informed if I hear any news. A Tarky fan? You're new here and, therefore, don't realise how cruel this is to me if you've made it up.
I hope your info is legit.... -

I have good information that he is still an Oldham player and will most likely will be tomorrow.

Not 100% but I don't think any.He did, didn't he?
-
So your saying there was no problem with the defence even though it was one of the worse runs for years. So Tarkowski could have played in that run and you would have been happy with his performance? We couldn't score for toffee! How bad is your memory?
-
So what was the problem. The defence wasn't the problem during that run.
-
Remember last season Byrne played in that great run of games of one point out of twenty seven.I think we'll finish a lot higher with Byrne putting in another 40 appearances at RB/CB than we will if he doesn't.
-
Excuse my spelling. His grandad was Polish so I would have thought so.HIs. Grand was Polish so i would have though so.
-
HIs. Grand was Polish so i would have though so.I take O4U's stance on Tarkowski, additionally his fitness levels have improved dramatically and his leadership qualities are coming to the fore.
Incidentally, does anyone know if he qualifies to play for Poland at under 21 level ?
-
Oldham 3 land of the giants 1 ! Reasons for Tarkowski's improvement. His feet problems he suffered previous years are behind him allowing him to be fit, physically bigger and playing football instead of launching the the ball forward as under previous manager.
-
I believe a new team in Carlisle.
-
The forward was running away from the goal, Tarky had him covered but the goalie should have stayed. Will also add the player dived as I could see from where I sat and as viewed on TV . Tarky was arguing the point with the ref.

Was Tarky the one who was centre back when we managed one point out of twenty seven last season,no,but Byrne was.Was cliff one of the centre halves who let the ball run accross the box for their goal on saturday?
Was cliff one of the centre halves who went walkies, then stood there like a lemon not willing to get back in line?*
Was he the one who decided to be 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defense playing someone onside, but run with his hand in the air playing the offside trap??*
*This one managed to get man of the match too!!
For the record I thought tarky had a decent game on saturday. His positioning is appalling though. Sitting on the side it really highlights this. I'd love to see statistics of goals conceded and results with and without Tarky in the side. I very much doubt it would be favourable to him.
I think he has all the atributes to be a decent defender, if coached well - and has a partner who will help him.

Quote of the night, Twenty minutes into the game...
":censored:in' hell Johnson, get that big Latvian on, what the :censored: have you paid all that money for..."[/ Have you seen him play and you will know why!

LJ attacking tactics are going to put the defence under pressure with both full backs pushing right up on the flanks to support the attack which will leave no cover to support the CBs especially when the opposition was the calibre of Derby. Admittedly the CBs are young and not very experience but what they do have is the ability to pass the ball as shown over the recent games. I think LJ needs to let the defence drop a little deeper and sacrifice at least one of the full backs pushing up to much to provide more cover. As for Bryne coming in due to his experience I don't agree as his career so far has been lower league and not use to Championship football and is not as quick as Tarkowski and Mellor. What Derby did last night was to play deep and we found our forwards struggling to penetrate. I am happy to continue with the attacking policy as it is enjoyable to watch which makes a change over recent seasons.

Your spot on with your post. When you are committed to attack like we were yesterday and play a high defensive line you are bound to be more vulnerable at the back. I rather have footballing centre backs than someone launching the ball into the stands. Keep it up boys, great entertainment. From what I saw in the game yesterday was Tarkowski in the ear of Mellor/Brown all the way through. Now that's not something you learn.
I truly believe that the Tarkowski/Mellor partnership may be a stroke of genius, what we have to remember yesterday we played virtually a 5-5 formation, we could have had Baresi and Moore at CB and we would still have conceded
-
Only got one point out of twenty seven when BYrne was on the pitch. At least we won.
-
No far from it ,I think the Tarkowski and Mellor are more of a football playing partnership than previous pairings and it suits LJ style of play which is attacking and will leave the defence more exposed. As they say you can't have your cake and eat it too.
Tarkowski. Do we need him back?
