  1. Behave : he had loads of chances under Dickov and was :censored:e. He was much better this season...

If you think he was :censored:e what did you think of JYM and Byrne who were the pairing when we managed one point out of twenty seven points when Dickov was in charge. This is where some Oldham fans don't give the young lads coming through a chance to develop and just slag them off, just like Mellor, Winchester and Miller. I back Tarkowski to prove these Oldham wrong.
  2. If he is going to go in January then I hope he goes to a team that actually play football, Stoke give me a break, what good is a ball playing CH in a team of hoofers, as for Newcastle, they have ruined too many decent players. A team like Swansea would be ideal for him. Just hope he stays because LJ will bring the best out of him, at his age regular games under a decent manager will do more to progress his career.

Totally agree he would be better staying put and get regular football under his belt and develop more under LJs football philposhpy.
  3.

You're new here and, therefore, don't realise how cruel this is to me if you've made it up.
I hope your info is legit....
I have no reason to wind anyone up. I will keep you informed if I hear any news. A Tarky fan?
No! But do know of him through junior football.
  4. We couldn't score for toffee! How bad is your memory?

So your saying there was no problem with the defence even though it was one of the worse runs for years. So Tarkowski could have played in that run and you would have been happy with his performance?
  5. Was cliff one of the centre halves who let the ball run accross the box for their goal on saturday?

Was cliff one of the centre halves who went walkies, then stood there like a lemon not willing to get back in line?*

Was he the one who decided to be 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defense playing someone onside, but run with his hand in the air playing the offside trap??*

*This one managed to get man of the match too!!

For the record I thought tarky had a decent game on saturday. His positioning is appalling though. Sitting on the side it really highlights this. I'd love to see statistics of goals conceded and results with and without Tarky in the side. I very much doubt it would be favourable to him.

I think he has all the atributes to be a decent defender, if coached well - and has a partner who will help him.

Was Tarky the one who was centre back when we managed one point out of twenty seven last season,no,but Byrne was.
  6. LJ attacking tactics are going to put the defence under pressure with both full backs pushing right up on the flanks to support the attack which will leave no cover to support the CBs especially when the opposition was the calibre of Derby. Admittedly the CBs are young and not very experience but what they do have is the ability to pass the ball as shown over the recent games. I think LJ needs to let the defence drop a little deeper and sacrifice at least one of the full backs pushing up to much to provide more cover. As for Bryne coming in due to his experience I don't agree as his career so far has been lower league and not use to Championship football and is not as quick as Tarkowski and Mellor. What Derby did last night was to play deep and we found our forwards struggling to penetrate. I am happy to continue with the attacking policy as it is enjoyable to watch which makes a change over recent seasons.

  7. From what I saw in the game yesterday was Tarkowski in the ear of Mellor/Brown all the way through. Now that's not something you learn.

I truly believe that the Tarkowski/Mellor partnership may be a stroke of genius, what we have to remember yesterday we played virtually a 5-5 formation, we could have had Baresi and Moore at CB and we would still have conceded

Your spot on with your post. When you are committed to attack like we were yesterday and play a high defensive line you are bound to be more vulnerable at the back. I rather have footballing centre backs than someone launching the ball into the stands. Keep it up boys, great entertainment.
