  1. Bad news if it's true. Maybe it's to do with receiving cash back and the ticket therefore costing less than finance?

Would be a real kicker, if true. Have used this service for the past few years and it's been great.

Not a good time for me to splunk £350, but would happily sign on the dotted line for the finance to be arranged once these 4 games had been played and the discount is known

  2. Interesting and thank you. If you speak with him again just ask, "If they liked him so much, why on Earth did they not bust a gut for him then?"

Because, frankly, many players did not PERFORM as though they held him in great esteem - or if they claim they did then we are relegation certainties and they are just very poor players.

Didn't ask at the time, but it was clear he thought the board hadn't supported Dunn (as appears in my original post). Maybe other players thought the same and their lack of conviction was towards the board and not towards Dunn at all?

Like my original post also says, vicious cycle and one it'll be tough to get out of for a while (hopefully sooner rather than later)

FWIW, I quite liked what little I've seen of Eckersley on the pitch. He's not first choice granted, but I'd have him in the squad :)

  3. Not sure where this would fit into the plethora of current threads, but just had a quick chat with Richard Eckersley. Few tidbits that might be interesting to those who are errr.. interested in these kind of things:

    - He's still with the club, just getting over an ankle injury

    - Players absolutely loved Dunn and were 100% with him

    - ..but it became clear quite quickly that he was in over his head

    - Intimated that Dunn didn't have the full backing of the board during his tenure

    - Acknowledged that it was a vicious cycle of results/crowd/board pressure and that Dunn should've probably just been a player post-Kelly

    Nice chap, overall.

  4. Higdon barely fits into his shorts never mind the team. We dont play a style that suits, that doesnt mean he has no quality....

I thought Higdon looked much fitter on Tuesday night than he has previously. Didn't have much of a game and was easily bullied by Mansfield's centre halves, but still..

  5. Kean's knee injury seemed to come about from Kusunga sliding into him studs first in clearing the danger.

Which Kusunga wouldn't have had to do if Kean had sorted his :censored: out in the first place. I wanted so badly for him to shake it off and man up. He didn't. He ended up pretending to've taken a hit to the face and limped off into obscurity.

I half think we won't see him again, a la Paddy Kenny.

  6. Was hoping our equaliser would come as a 'deflection off the back of the head of the guy Lockwood had just elbowed in the face'-type goal, alas..

I enjoyed us today, aside from comedy defending and not an ounce of luck or killer instinct in front of goal. Truly disappointed that LJ and Tommy have proven themselves to be the underhanded :censored:bags I'd hoped they weren't. No humility or respect and deserved all the abuse they got / will get whenever they return to Boundary Park.

Sadler was decent (but basically to Mills, what Lockwood is to Wilson, J) and Woodland looks excellent. Really proud of how much we wanted to win today, but we can't rely on Dean to lead us forwards. Don't think it's fair on either of us.
