Sorry but he's had near on six month, signed six players, exiled at least half a dozen and we are undoubtedly worse. Why would you waste another season we are rudderless and he keeps picking the same incompetents.

Do you think we should have stuck with Thompson and Redfearn, was it no losses in 6 games with them 2.

Is the club making too much of this? Following procedure that's it, the fans are making it out to be worse. Slap on the wrists and move on. He has been stupid/naive.

The incident has become a national story, it was mentioned more than once on Talk Sport yesterday, I think both players should be made to apologise, Reid has been injured since November and Mcgahey was out for over a year, and both players no doubt picked up a wage from the club during that time.

Perhaps some time stacking shelves in Tesco as a punishment might give them a better understanding of the privileged careers they have.

Yep, the 'wingers' Mellon harped on about in his interview.
He knows what he needs to do, let's hope the board backs his requests.

Yep, because Green is not a winger, how many crosses does he put into the box, decent or otherwise.

Tonight we went down to 10 men, played long high balls up front and left Fondop on the fucking bench, who would at least win a few headers and give there 2 CB's something to think about.

I tell you what….Curle and Sheridan had a rough ride but signing this lot between them is unforgivable!!!

Collectively, at any one time, that has to be just about the worst set of players I’ve every seen at this football club!!

Which players do you think they actually wanted, or was it down to what the numpty dumpty's who owned the club at the time wanted to sign?

Really hope he doesn't follow the non league  path of Andy Sweeney,  Matty Wolfendon, Carlos Roca, who were all very good at youth level. Incidentally, Carlos is now doing very well for himself as a UEFA B License holder / FA Youth Module Licensed Coach / Director Of Pro Football Academy Ltd / Football Consultant / Scout.

I liked the look of Wolfenden when I first saw him play, but he never stepped up, didn't he end up at Wrexham?

Undoubtedly the squad is collectively not good enough and there are clearly some players who should not be getting anywhere near the 11.

However, I do think more could be achieved if we accepted what we have and keep it simple so our mostly limited players are not over exposed to their weaknesses.

for a start, it is so clear that Clarke and Anglo are not wing backs. Clarke gets plenty of criticism, but if he was just left to do the job he is best at (ie full back in a back four) he would likely improve. The same too for Angol.

that then means it’s four at the back, so pick your two best centre halves. We’ve got loads to choose from!

then a solid midfield two who stay close together, get up and down the pitch and play as a partnership. From what I saw today, Sheron and Cooper would do a job, it’s not a dynamic midfield that will drive us into the play offs, but my God we look so exposed in that area and it needs sorting out.

then you can play two ‘creative’ wider midfield players, both of who, still need to support their full backs (eg no Bahamboula type performances allowed) and hold the shape when we don’t have the ball. Tollit is clearly one of those players, take your pick on the other.

Then it’s two up top. Abraham played well today, and he put in a proper shift. Him and Fondop could do a job, and there is still the Bolton lad and perhaps Hope is a week or two away.

after that revolting cameo from Rooney today (completely responsible for their second goal), I don’t see where he fits in. If he doesn’t work (or isn’t fit yet) then he doesn’t get in, however lofty his reputation.

we need legs, desire, organisation, simplicity and a bit of skill. We’ve got enough OK players to get out of the shit and bumble around in 15th, but if we can’t sort out the basics and continue to play like we did today then we are going to get sucked right into the relegation mix.

I blame Clarke for the second goal, he gave the ball away from a throw in by kicking it in the middle of the pitch to no one, Halifax picked up the ball and went up the pitch and scored.

But as so many have pointed out already, this team isn't good enough.

Cricket score next week against Wrexham, these players are shot to bits.

Don’t we count the straightforward headers that Sheron and the lad from Stoke missed then? Or the fumbles from the Chester keeper on to the woodwork?

Btw , did Norman have a shot to save in the first half?

We had enough chances to win that game.

I was surprised we didn't test their keeper more when he fumbled the ball in the first half.

Today was the first game I have seen under Unsworth, I get the defensive approach, especially as we were shipping goals under Shez, keeping possession and moving the ball, whilst looking for an opening to exploit is nothing new.

The ability of some of the players to pick a pass is lacking, Gardener struggled to find a pass for the first 15 minutes of the game and Rooney sits deep, this leaves Fondop and Toillit up front to hold the ball up and create opportunities.

The second half was the real worry, the first 10 minutes or so we could not get hold of the ball and we sat deeper, we had lost our shape with Clarke going off, we then went from a 5-4-1 to a 5-3-3 then a 4-4-2, Luamba was playing at what a one point looked to be at wing back, he then got moved up alongside Fondop, where he seemed to cause Chester some problems.

It is pretty obvious we need to sign some quality players, someone with a bit of creativity and a decent striker would be a start, young kids aren't really the answer, although I do like the look of Carragher, which in fairness to Unsworth is one of his signings.

Overall, there is a lack of confidence in the team, that is evident when it comes to making the right decision with the ball, sometimes the short pass is the easy option and for most of the time yesterday, even with the clocking running down, that short pass saw the ball going backwards.
