  1. Yep. And replace him with, er, erm...

I'm sick of having to make these points every week, but:

    1. Those who want PD out - Who do you suggest we replace him? Who would genuinely want to come and manage Oldham Athletic? Most realistic replacements: Another ex-player looking for his first shot at management, á la Dickov, or a run of the mill, mediocre lower league manager á la Moore/Penney. Which would take us absolutely nowhere.

    2. He's a young manager, working on an extremely tight budget, with a young squad, and a large number of crucial injuries, who still has us 6 points outside of the relegation zone, with 2 games in hand. We haven't been good recently, granted, but any one who wants Dickov out is, quite frankly, an idiot.

The best thing we can do for the moment is give him time and allow him to build. 1 and a half seasons is not time, despite what some might think.

Thank You. Somebody talking sense. I have no idea what people are expecting when a club with such financial restraints as us loses 5 of its best players to injury. If we were in this situation with 1 or 2 key injuries then fair enough, but the amount we have out you can't go blaming the manager

  2. Sometimes I wonder if any of our fans know anything about football!

He did nothing wrong today so how some can come on here and say he was dog:censored: is madness. He was average today and he will be average for as long as we have our half decent players out. You could see from a nice bit of passing with Lee down the right that he needs the ball at his feet and intelligent players to play off him. Whilst Furman and Simpson are out he won't have that and im afraid will continue to look average whilst idiot fans start whinging about what he adds.

  3. That she definately saw Tom throw up after he had scored?

    Did anyone else see that?

That was just his celebration making light of what happened at half time. Came out at HT holding his stomach and bending down like he was about to hurl again with the ref seeing if he was ok to start the second half

  4. Strange how people see games so differently. I personally thought Lee had one of his worst games this season, I thought Weslowski was one of our best players, I thought Kuqi was pretty poor and I thought Parker showed a lot of promise. It was nice to see somebody who could get past a player with such ease; hopefully him coming back will push Taylor a bit more as I think he has been average at best this season.

  5. M'Voto has steadily improved, Diamond after an iffy start has gone down hill and already needs a kick up the arse. Yes, M'Voto like last season started the season slowly but he was MOM for me against Hudds and since Hudds has looked more like his old self in the two games I've seen since. I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

Jesus! I realy hope more of our fans disagree with you than agree. M'voto was the worst player on the field yesterday. No question for me, M'voto should definately be the one sat on the bench next week

  6. Correct. M'voto was poor too. The others put a shift in. Adeyemi showed glimpses of real ability. Kuqi will become a cult hero and that was never a red card on a million years

Just seen the red card on Sky Sports News and it looked like a deserved red card. Went in with stoods showing and caught the guy high on his ankle

  7. "To add to my rant. Feeney is a pile of cr#p!!!!!"

"It was a very poor decision by Reid to play Feeney up front on his own today. He's just not good enough."

"feeny definitely not a goal scorer reminds me of earl jean the way he falls over all the time"

"Id swap Feeney for a mop head and have that put on the penalty spot all game"

"I was gutted we signed Feeney and saw nothing today to change my mind."

"I've always thought Feeney was an awful player and I saw nothing today that changed my mind. No pace, no skill, rubbish in the air, can't hold the ball up... garbage signing by Reid"

"Feeney, for me, was again a disapointment"

"Feeney - 3/10, never stood a chance forward by himself"

"Up front- shocking. Feeney wasn't determined enough to latch onto the midfields balls, and I feel he should have scored a goal in the second half to make it 2-2. As PL2 said, a dissapointment, why sign him on a one year deal when we could have him for a trial month? "

"Feeney was a waste of a shirt today. 2 shots on goal that I can remember that my Gran could have got more pace on."

Just a few thoughts from the Plymouth fans after todays defeat.......most of them in the thread title "We need a goalscorer"

  8. put ya dummy back in eh....tetchy pants

stephens ran the game for them did he....wrong,just like you wrongly stated at the top he scored 2 goals, when in fact he didnt..his goal he was in the right place at the right time....go check the bbc website and see how few mentions other than the goal he got...

and i think you will find that chris taylor was our top scorer....dont get much right do you...

he isnt championship class yet....but in another couple of seasons he might be,the fact southampton didnt take up the offer on him says a lot...

yes last season he set off like a train, but then went hiding and people on here,me included were saying he should be rested,as he didnt seem interested...then he came good again and buggered off to southampton,so we didnt have to pay bury more money.....

haha brillaint!!! you tell me to put my dummy back in then come up with a reply like that :D

how do you know he didn't run the game? the fact they have given each player ratings for yesterday and 99% of them gave Stephens the best rating. the fact they have started a thread raving about how good he played seems to suggest to me that he had quite an influence on the game. your right he did only get 1 goal, the bbc stated he had two, as did teletext so I was wrong there. but you tell me to go to the bbc....opening paragraph of the match report "Dale Stephens scored one and set up another on his Charlton debut as they comfortably overcame Bournemouth" funny how they mention his name in the opening paragraph to give the summary of the game

oh im sorry ill re-edit it. "Our top scorer when he left the club" pretty hard to score goals for us when he's not here

"he isnt championship class yet....but in another couple of seasons he might be" exactly. you pay for potential. he's a very good player now and he's only going to get better

  9. Whats wrong with starting a thread about where Roger Palmer is when Im trying to cheer up a sick friend?!

    "NICE"

I wont be coming back on this board again that's for sure if you are a representation of what calibre of fan frequents it.

Apologies. I just looked down the page and picked random titles. I hadnt actually read your thread. sorry

  10. what was the fee?

Him and Green went for 750k and it was widely reported that Green went for 400k so 350k

So everytime he has a good game we are going to have this discussion?

No, but as it was his debut and it appears he ran the game for them, I thought it was worthy of mentioning it

    Ordinary? You sure?

Was our best player, made things happen. Not much happened today.

Agreed. He was our top scorer, created lots and im sure he had a few assists. Even if he was having a bad game he had the ability to create something from nothing, which we can not say about most of our players.

  11. and???

It's called a topic starter. Mentioning how one of our former players has started. How he is worth more than we received for him.

Next time should I start a topic about Scholes not playing for us? or his thoughts on the coming season? or one about John Eyre? or where Roger Palmer is?

I believe my first post is a lot more relevant to Oldham here and now than a lot of the threads on here yet youve chose to reply negatively to mine.

    NICE

    NICE

  12. Im confused. The link to the Norwich messageboard said Bournemouth were hoping ot get him for £200,000, to which the Norwich fans replied saying it was a bit low. I read somewhere Charlton had offered £500,000 for him. We havn't been able to pay the players/staff the last few months. How the hell are we going to afford him?

  13. Harry Dowds Green Shirt.... yes some of the others may have played bad today and in other games, but when was the last time you came out of a game saying Brill had a realy good game today. He has a wooden leg, he doesnt come off his line and he hasnt been doing much shot stopping. Look at Arsenal, lots of players have the odd bad game and some more than others but everybody knows they won't win the title until they get a keeper. We are the same, we have no chance of promotion with Brill in goal.
