  1. just because he leaves them out of a cup game!!! get a grip ffs...

if they pick up a suspension and miss the huddersfield game, then we will get slaughtered...it was hardly a weakened team was it.....plus feeney scored...

read the managers comments on the os.seems he has ripped into them at half time and fulltime over this....

if you want to question anybody, question the players, there hunger and there desire, thats what was at fault...turning up with the,oh its only a league two side...

they beat us last year so whats the big deal...get over it.

i think you're the one that needs to get a grip!

as i mentioned in an earlier thread our only sort of income will come from a cup run or selling players. Dropping Furman may result in us losing Furman in January. If a good realistic bid comes in for him in January we won't be able to turn it down; if we had beat Accrington and managed to get to the third round and get a reasonable tie we may have been able to gain enough money to keep Furman.

Lets be serious now, our chances of promotion are pretty slim. Id say there are at least 5 or 6 teams better than us and even if we managed to scrape in the play-offs we would struggle against some of the teams in there.

If somebody before the game had offered me either a win in the 1st round of the FA Cup & a 4-0 loss to Huddersfield or a loss in the FA Cup and a draw/win against Huddersfield i would have taken the first. This club needs any sort of income it can get and promotion doesn't look likely.

I agree the players should take a good chunk of the blame but Dickov made a big mistake yesterday and Im surprised he hasnt mentioned that in his interview

  2. Probably the best player today but only because everybody else was crap (Evina was average). After the performance today my initial thought wasn't that he's going to be amazing and we would sell him for a lot. He is only 17 and has potential but he should have been stronger in the tackle for the first and he looked a bit suspect defensively at times in the second half. Some good runs in the 1st half though. Average performance todat which may have looked better to people as everybody else was crap

  3. Disagree there, thought it was one of the poorer 0-0's i've seen, neither keeper made a telling save, that somes it up, was end to end in a fashion but never neared any end product.

Sort of happy with a point, had it been early September yes, but just remember Wednesday have lost four in a row, a Southampton team that hadn't won for yonks won there, Carlisle won there recently and they've lost 2 on the road.

Agree with the first point. Think people are thinking it was better than it was because it was a fairly good result and quite a good atmosphere. The game itself was dire! Thought they were poor and we were happy with a draw although I think we should have gone for it a bit more as the 3 points were definately there for the taking. Dissapointed in Stephens at the moment, can't remember him having a good game since he signed his contract; gave the ball away a lot and slowed down a couple of promising attacks

  4. 1st game I have made it to and I am in shock. I was expecting Brill to be :censored:e from what I have read on here and that was confirmed tonight.

Gregan was failry solid but Ruben looked like a 16yr old making his debut, nervy as anything.

I have to say thought the main area of worry for me was midfield. Whoever stated we had signed better centre mids than Allott during the summer wants shooting. Worst midfield (non)display for years. The two centre mids just held infront of the back two and produced nothing while the wide men looked lost.

Abbott was decent, Parker is not a better option than Blackman, Lewis or O'Grady IMO.

Special mention to ex Man Utd star Kieron Lee. Kieron is soooo good be didn't need to warm up all game despite the others doing so for most of the match, he got called down and stripped to come on but when they realised he'd been on his arse for 80mins they made him warm up instead. Not wonder he doesn't catch.

Oh and why the hell was Blackman stuck out of the wing? Clueless.

Agree with pretty much everything there. I have no idea why Penney is playing two defensive midfielders in :censored: and Worthington. It should be one or the other with somebody more creative with him, i would say Furman but today he sat very deep and wasn't as attacking as I would have thought. No idea why Parker keeps getting into the starting eleven either.

Check out this guy. Could be another good addition as a loanee (I know we need a defender!)

I have a friend who is a staunch FC St Pauli supporter (German league 2) who watched him play last season. She rates him. Looks like he might make the first team this season though which might be a problem. Worth a punt?

By the way FC St Pauli is a very interesting football club based in the red light district of Hamburg. There are some similarities with Oldham i.e. poor club with fans that have lion-hearts.

Played and scored against Gillingham in the Carling Cup, then came on as a sub against West Ham in their last match. Won't be able to get him.

  6. Well if he's too lazy! <_<

Oldham manager Dave Penney was happy with his side's creativity in the opening-day goalless draw at Stockport.

The Latics, who paraded eight new signings in their starting XI had a frustrating afternoon, beginning when penalty appeals were refused after Pawel Abbott went down in the box.

Penney said: "We had 11 shots on target so you have to be fairly happy when you have created so much up front.

"The first 30 minutes were not great but then we started passing the ball much better and played some good football.

"Their keeper made great saves but if we carry on making so many chances they will start going in sooner or later.

"I'm especially happy with the clean sheet because that is something we have struggled with in pre-season."

  7. Skysports.com understands Liverpool defender Robbie Threlfall is poised for a loan move away from Anfield.

A number of clubs are thought to be keen on signing the talented left-back, who is also equally adapt at centre-half, after Liverpool made him available for a loan switch.

The 20-year-old is highly regarded at Liverpool and the Anfield coaching staff are willing to farm him out again so that he can continue his development.

Threlfall, who had loan spells at Hereford and Stockport last season, endured a frustrating campaign last term with a metatarsal injury, but he is now back to full fitness and has caught the eye in pre-season.

His performances have not gone unnoticed with the player being subject to several enquiries about his availability ahead of the new season.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez is keen to send him out on loan as he continues his policy of farming out his best young players so that they can regular first-team action under their belts
