Well, if that’s true- I’d guess at the others as,

    Langley £500

    Couto £500

    Harrison £800

    Bren 1K

    Dan £1500

    Green 1k

    Tollit £800

    Windass £500

    Mikey 1k

    Hope £800

If I’m anywhere in the ball park - that’s 8.4K a week off the wage bill.

    What does that get us?

    8 ok players on 1k

    5 good players on 1.5k

Even with this fag packet guessing it’s not difficult to see how difficult it’s going to be in the summer.

Someone posted this, don't know how accurate it is:

  2. I was miffed a few weeks ago when Melon was asked what he needed to do to get them playing with more urgency and consistency.....

    He said:

    "I don't know"

Which got me worried;  of all things, why would you say that?

He needs to be looked in the eye and asked if he has any real ideas now and if not given the Irishman's farewell.

If he does have a plan, give him till Christmas and we shall see.

What happened to 1 year rolling contracts?  We can't keep paying the buggers off.

  3. Just think were we would have been if we had binned Unsworth earlier.  😐

Not having the pots aimed at Sutton, one of ours, good attitude, out of position and the youngest on the pitch by a mile.   there are regularly 7 players who should catch it before him.

Players with hundreds of league games behind them.......yet regularly shovelling shit from one bucket to another.

Imagine trying to make your mark in these teams over the past three seasons.

    😂😂

If you want everyone to agree with you- just say so. I countered your question with my own, because I don’t agree with you.  That’s the nature of debate.

If you believe several individual title winning/promotion winning/played higher players are all now shit, and can only play against chesterfield and the like then that’s fine. But their careers clearly demonstrate otherwise. Maybe they played in teams that suited their game, maybe they didn’t get rotated after playing well, maybe they played in their proper position consistently. Maybe they built consistent little partnership’s with their teammates.  You complete dismiss players without looking at the many nuances that contribute to their form.

Players reflect their manager and at the minute every player looks lost, and half arsed. That isn’t form or they’re suddenly shit.

Yeaterday is perfect example. The midfield was awful for the first 30 minutes, why? Because the tactics completed bypassed them- they got no foothold in the game, and gave the impetus to Flyde. That has nothing to do with them being shit- that’s tactics. The strikers looked completely ineffective- why? Because the only service was high balls to two midgets. That’s not them being shit or not being able to jump. It’s tactics. We go 3 down and fighting for a bit pride they stop lumping it- played a bit and got a goal back. That’s proves they can play. They then go down to ten men and still look the better side.

There is a reason why they all come with a reputation and don’t do it, and it’s not because they were good, and they’re now shit.

Yep, we come back to this:

Alex Reid said Unsworth was always at them to get the ball down and play.

Mellon says he is always calling for more football.....and yet, at our worst, our fallback tactic is kick and head it.

    Mystery.

It won’t be fine, It will be as hard as ever….You’ll have maybe Barnet or Bromley, Southend, Hartlepool, Halifax, Rochdale, Sutton & Forest Green.

Not to mention Gateshead, Solihull & Altrincham

Yes, I think so as well.  I always did think it would be a 5 year job at this level.   Sad to say it though.

Still we have a club  and hope for the best and fear of the worst.    I will carry on supporting it,   come to far to dip out now

Also, grown adults caring about someone's social media profile photo is really, really weird behaviour

    Yep.

Grown up professionals bantering with punters on social media is bizarre.   Whatever message they send out to the prats will not be received well by the sensible majority.

The prats will either not read it or not understand it.

Quite a bold move by National League TV to not show about 10% of the actual game. I'm not seeing it catching on in sports broadcasting though.

Lost first quarter of the last match - asked for a refund but they refused and said they were

" happy to see that you've got access to the stream"

PS - they can stick it....

    1973/74 Title-Winning Reunion - 50th anniversary

Players from Latics' 1973/74 Third Division championship win will return to Boundary Park on the evening of Friday 19 April.

The reunion takes place the day before the league fixture against Wealdstone, which marks exactly half a century since Jimmy Frizzell’s side secured promotion with a 6-0 victory over Huddersfield.

Latics went on to secure the Third Division title on the final day of the regular season at Plymouth.

Of the 19 who played during that season, there are 14 surviving members, with all but two due to be in attendance.

Attending will be Ian Wood, Ronnie Blair, Alan McNeill, Ian Robins, Tony Bailey, George McVitie, Paul Edwards, Keith Hicks, Mike Lester, George Jones, Chris Ogden, and Colin Garwood.

Thanks,  I will be sorry to miss that.

I remember Chris Ogden as a fellow apprentice at Avro's, though he left fairly sharpish to concentrate on his football, I think.

His father Fred, also played for Oldham in goal, in the 1950's.  He did a lot of local coaching and was the kind of man who always treated players the same, talented or not.  I remember him with great affection,  as one of the duffers.

    .

  9. Unsworth got 12 months in the job and that's the absolute minimum for any manger at any club, unless he rogers the Chairman's cat.  Don't blame Mellon for keeping schtum, he knows how the usual crap comes across, lets hope he saves his voice for the players.

The idea that Frank could, or should, keep paying off managers off like a cheap rent Abramovich, is crackers.    I think we have to hope for the best and fear the worst, situation normal (AFU).

    Jumpers for goalposts, gymslip brides.

Good player, strong as well.   There was a lot of tut-tutting at the time about his choice of bride;  her interrupted education etc, etc.  His reported comment:

She does not need any education as long as she gets my tea on the table.

So fair to say, old school rather than woke.   🙂
