  1. Personally I think the prices are too high but I think that is probably the same at most league one and possibly championship clubs. Especailly when Wigan and Bolton (two Premier League clubs which are closer to me than Oldham is!) do very goo offers.

I have in fact emailed the club today informing them of an offer Bolton are doing for their upcoming fixture against Fulham. A dad and lad ticket for £12. To me this is a bargain and an offer our Marketing dept should look at.

Be interested to know your opinons on the offer

  2. Atmosphere was really poor too.

We go 1 nil up I think one maybe two chants was sung from the Rocky Rd nowt from the Chaddy where I was and then just murmours and groaning.

Chaddy doesn't seem to wake up until the lads are shooting towards us.

Surely the atmosphere must deflate the players they score want us all excited and we're sat not giving a flying monkeys and when opponants score we're even flatter no crys of come on oldham trying to encourage a quick response

  3. absolutely gutted.

A true gentleman. Passionate, humble, polite and funny.

Lived for football and I could listen to him talk about football for hours.

A hero in every sense of the word and a role model for all young footballers/managers/humans

I hope we have a min silence or applause on first game of season, it is more than deserved.

RIP Sir Bobby, you'll never be forgotton.

    Omerod - 1/10

    Kabba - 4/10

    Supple - 9/10

    Ferreira - N/A

    Windass - 6/10

    Hines - 1/10

    Golbourne - 7/10

    Budtz - -2/10 :l

    Byrne - 5/10

Bit disappointing really. majority have come to strengthen team and bring quailty and majority have come from higher divisions and bar two cant see how they have helped the squad.

If we were to sign any think only Supple and Jones would be definates, maybe Golbourne and Westlake (I've not seen enough of him to say yes or no).

Who would be to blame for poor loan signings is it the manager at the time or scouts who recommended them?

  5. My choice would be Smalley/Alessandra because they came through the ranks and on the odd occasion they play together seem to compliment each other.

Yep agreed. Unless we sign someone else thats who I'd be looking at. Although Joe says he wants to look at Kabba more so that to me suggests Kabba plus one

God dammit I can never get this quote thingy me bob to work!!!

  7. Mark Crossley Goalkeeper Keep only as coach/third choice

Neal Eardley Defender Keep and try sell for a decent amount

Scott Golbourne Defender If Reading released him on a free I'd have him, think he's too good for L1

    JP Kalala Midfielder Release

    Stefan Stam Defender Keep

    Danny Whitaker Midfielder Keep

    Mark Allott Midfielder Keep

Lee Hughes Striker Like him to stay but no hope in that now

    Steven Kabba Striker Release

    Chris O'Grady Striker Keep

    Kelvin Lomax Defender release

    Greg Fleming Goalkeeper Keep

    Reuben Hazell Defender Keep

Shane Supple Goalkeeper Keep looks a real quality keeper if we could get him

    Deane Smalley Striker Keep

    Lewis Alessandra Striker Keep

    Josh Bell Goalkeeper Till: Keep

Paul Black Defender Till: Keep/Release? cant comment never seen him play

Fabio Ferreira Midfielder He'll be back with Chelsea

  8. this really suprises me for a number of reasons

    1) Royle says we've no one to score goals apart from Hughes, then doesnt put him in squad! Surely have him on bench at a minimum

    2) Surely this says to the players I dont think your gonna make playoffs so I'm gonna try things, which in turn means players wont be arsed trying

    3) Why is Royle looking to next season when he is only manager til end of this season, surely its for new manager to decided who he wants and how to play! Unless Joe knows something we dont about his contract.

    4) With only Smalley Lewi and Kabba doesnt give us much option if we need to change things due to injury or losing etc

    5) Royle was brought into to push into play offs not look to next season, we may as well have stayed with Shez in that case.

I'd be really interested to see Lewi and Deano up front together. Bags of pace to trouble defences. If we are planning for next season would like to see COG recalled (if possible) and have a look at him with Lewi and Deano. Not convinced with Kabba myself but I believe he was better 2nd half on Tues so maybe Joe has seen something in training.

Ah well here is to League One football next year!!

  9. Back to Eardley :ranting: Did anyone see towards the end of the game when the ball was knocked towards the chaddy on the right hand side and he could have made it to the ball before the defended but decided he couldnt be ar*ed..... Well he copped a load of abuse for it and looked like he half enjoyed it, as if to say up yours.... I actually thought he gave up on the ball to antagonise the fans that give him stick either that or he really was bein a lazy bar*tard... eitherway I think his attitude stinks

That was the point I decided to go. I have never left a latics game in the 12-13yrs I've been watching Latics until then.

I walked out questioning why I pay money to watch players who cant be arsed and aint interested in anything but their own personal gain. It was also the point I realised I'm falling out of love with football!

  10. I don't want this comment to appear sarcastic, but have you ever played y'self?

If you have, did you never react like that at such moments?

Aye I probably have but I aint a pro and being a pro means doing your job first. No point in a keeper making a great save if they gonna go score immediately after cus your too busy celebrating

  11. missed yesterdays game due to being ill (a blessing in disguise possibly?) so I can only comment on his Stockport performance and that was outstanding. One of the most creavtive performances I've seen at Oldham in years, he looked absolute class and never stopped working all game.

Think the more games he plays the more match sharp he's gonna become and more dangerous he will become.

I also think he gives us a edge mentally. When an opposing defence looks at team sheet and see they are up against Windass and Hughes they know they're gonna be in for a tough game

  12. i think the players may have learned from celebrating with the keeper after the pen save against Orient. He made the save and they all went jumping on him instead of constrating on the rebound which was eventually put in backof our net with half the team out of position!!

I'd rather they all concentrate on doing their jobs and congratulate each other at the end of the game!
