    Gets us up - he stays, and rightly so.

     

    Gets us in the playoffs - Hard call to

    make. Wouldn't begrudge him getting a deal for next season.

     

    Anywhere below playoffs - get someone else in.

    I was asking myself the same question last night as I watch the FAIL fans streaming out, and came tot he same conclusion as sjk2008, except that I would give him the deal if he reached the play offs.

    I've done it. Happy to lose my stake but makes for a nice consolation if Latics lose.

    Exactly my reasoning on the subject. My pension pot got a significant boost from Barnsley winning on Saturday and what a silver lining it was!!!! If I had lost the bet I would have been happy anyway.........

     

    When you bet, you want to win. Name any other team whose current form, misfortunes, injuries, attitude, and general state you know more about than Latics. There have been 3 or maybe 4 games this year where I knew Latics would either win or lose before the game just from being a Latics fan. Cash in while you can!

    This is often said. But it's bollocks.

     

    Harbin did a great job. We haven't a fitter squad of players since and their stamina meant they often scored late goals against tiring opposition. But fitness alone doesn't get you to the top end of what was a strong division that season. There's no way Harbin should be given more credit than Dowie; also, it was Dowie who brought him in, wasn't it?

     

    Bollocks, well your entitled to your opinion of course but it's important to remember that Harbin wasn't just in charge with fitness though, he is also a Sports Psychologist. I lost track of how many games in that season that we got extra points out of in the last 10 minutes. Fitness and mental toughness being key factors to playing the full 90 minutes.

     

    The only time we have had sustained success has been with real partnership between manager and main coach; Royle & Donnachie. Dowie and Harbin were a very good partnership!
