  1. This has really got on my nerves in recent seasons.

Wolves and Coventry doing these landmark away attendances at MK of 7k and 9k.

I know there are practicality benefits of their stadoum but give your money to a more deserving club.

Perhaps their view is to take more support than the home team with the hope of beating them.

  2.

Got to love the threats people make behind an anonymous username its not a secret who i am and its quite well known who i am....

I make no apologies for what i write on here its a fans forum your no more in the know than i am and its called banter if you choose to believe what dribble is written on here then so be it.

Wont be at Walsall tomorrow as i am in Dublin for the weekend but ill be there Wednesday and next Saturday if thats not convienient ill be at Bury as ill be at V Fest for the 2nd home league game i cant make it any clearer than that...

    FFS

So you do have a crystal ball then?

  3. must say I have thoroughly enjoyed this weeks chaddy end memories on the official site .

I was lucky enough to be there for most of the games , late 80 s early 90 s but these clips have really brought it all back .

just watched 30 mins of blues v Southampton to stay in premier league

we had to win , palace had to lose by 2 goals plus at arsenal

    what could go wrong

    I actually got nervous watching

Despite holding a ST in the Chaddy, I was forced to go to my cousins communion and missed the game.

  4.

Are you saying there's a flaw in our recruitment system whereby quality players have been available and wanted to sign but we've had to drop our interest in the one's who wouldn't pay for their own transport?

£50k transfer fee? - no problem.

    £2k a week? - no problem.

Last minute EasyJet flight? - :censored: off.

    Yes.

Or they don't pay for travel for overseas players or the budget has already been used up?

You'll have the same issues in the biggest companies in the world. They may spend millions on something which might not prove to be any good, but won't spend £100 on something that will give lots of value, because there is no budget for it.

God knows if this is the case, but you can't assume that the club cannot afford something by the decision it makes.

  5. I'm familiar with the phrase.

But I'm not convinced that this is part of the mandate that PlayerShare collects for.

Doubtless a small amount, but I think it's something that should be considered should a similar request follow.

    Yes i'd probably agree.

That was my point. The club may have decided not to fund travel costs of trialists as small amounts add up. Which may have been why DK went to Playershare, as there may have not been a budget for it.

So yes, quite agree that Playershare needs to consider the same, do they have a budget for this?

N.B. It seems an odd thing to ask for generally, but it could make a good story in the future: '£27m Hiwat signs for Real, had his plane fair paid by Playershare'!!!

  6. Putting my bean counter hat on here if someone invests in a business whether it be a gift or a loan it can't be in included as turnover it's merely recorded as a capital asset for the company.

A way round it and I would imagine the way round this for most is if the money is recorded as sponsorship I.e. Owner sponsors ground for £X although I believe at Uefa level atleast this is scrutinised.

I always use Hartlepool FC's FAQ on the SCMP which has proven to be very useful, it says:

'Any donation to a club can be included in the turnover figure, as long as when the money is given there is no expected repayment by the donor – clubs can’t rely on large cash loans to include in their income.'

  7. Just listened to Kelly's LP interview on the back of the St Mirren game.

You can tell he is trying to keep everything positive which is important at such an early stage, the problem is he is answering questions before even really thinking of an answer and is generally just agreeing and repeating what the interviewee asks...I understand it's a default response to keep the tone upbeat but it lacks sincerity and I don't feel like he has convinced me that he has a clear way of playing or a plan, or indeed his own opinions to share. He talks about buying into his plans hard work a hell of a lot...

He might not have a clear plan for a while.

  8. I have one source, that is a football agent for a company that represents some of the players at Oldham. I wouldn't trust what he tells me as gospel, I am sure the club wants agents to know as little as possible. He is sometimes ahead of the game, but also told me Dowie was a done deal!

I wonder if some of the sources talked about on here are as tenuously linked with the club, that is why we hear such grade A bullplop.

I agree. Most of the time it will be individuals speculating based on partial/limited information and their own opinion.

  9.

Well that was a quick response. What a decent bloke.

Simon Wood @SimonJWoodUK 2m2 minutes ago

@kent_latic More development Ill work with the club putting menus together and being present at special events more updates to come though!

He was quick - we sorted that out well between us ;)

Though there is quite a bit of stuff on the interweb that suggests that executive chef and head chef are similar/the same in my defence.

I'm sure I've heard the term 'Development Chef' being used before for his kind of role???

  10. Just to point out Jim, Exec Chef and Head Chef are very different jobs. As others have said he will be in charge of creating and developing, but will rarely cook for the customers.

I am sure it will be for the OEC. Though the fact the catering is coming in house, could be a good sign that he will have more input than normal.

Agree with others. Copy the Delia or Kidderminster model.

Sorry Singe, plenty of info if you google 'Executive Chef' that suggests the role (in general) is heading up the kitchen.

He's confirmed on Twitter that he will be cooking (though to what extent we'll see).

As you say, I'd imagine it would be for the hospitality in the OEC.
