  1. Wow, that was strange, I live in Melton Mowbray and have for the last 17 years, I moved from Royton. I have supported the latics for a large part of my life. Hence porkpie blue! For your info Mansfield have a tie up with Brooksby Melton College and their youth train and learn at their fantastic new facilities. By association I have been playing football there for the last few weeks and from time to time the Mansfield boys play. We had our first 11 a side match last night against a local school team (staff) and that's where I was. One of their youth was watching and he is likely to be on the bench today. Just remember the latics have eyes and ears every where we go

  2. I played in a team tonight with Adam Murray, John Dempster and Scott Rickards, I was talking to them about tomorrow's match and they sounded confident that they could win it depending on our approach to the game. If we come with an high and mighty attitude this is what will will them to win. They did say that they have watched us and were impressed with our football. Lets get behind the boys and help them win. By the way John is the guy that got sent off when we last played them, he is still a good player!

  3. I can't imagine that many league 1 footballers would subscribe to this approach. It's pretty simple really, get the ball, keep the ball, move it towards the oppositions goal and put it in the onion bag, step two is repeat what you just did and step three is something similar. To achieve this we will need a team I repeat a team that can run faster than the opposition and that has the necessary skills to put the above instruction into play. During the weekly training session we can work on getting and keeping fit and to work together as a team. When we start winning games we will know that our plans really do work.

  4. Only three people know what happened on that night in May 2011. What is clear is that Ched was an idiot to get himself involved. He is paying the price for his foolish behaviour. I believe he has the right to clear his name if he is truly innocent of the crime he was convicted of though this will be a tortuous path. I don't believe that our club is doing the right thing if they sign him as a player. Ched Evans with a clear criminal record would not be on our radar as he would be courted by bigger clubs and this can only mean that our club is targeting a cheap investment with a view to a bigger return on that investment. In other words its a cheap trick to profit from the situation and that doesn't sit well from a moralistic perspective even if it works from a business perspective. That being said it is the media that has made this such a controversial and emotive subject, I can't recall any club officials claiming that they are in the process of actually signing the player. Let's hope for their sakes that they see sense.

  5. Good club to be associated with. They are very much a fans club. They have a lot of similarities to us. I have regular dealings with a St. Pauli fan. We talk about football a lot. They nearly went out of business like us but their fans rallied and helped them to survive. They have a lot of paying fans and that has something to do with traditionalism and the fact that is cheap to watch football in bundesligue 2.

  6. In for me. Pre-season shows that we are capable. Some silly mistakes have knocked confidence but this is unlikely to continue. I expect that we will see some more palyers come next Saturady but I guess that will depend on who goes out too. If Taylor and Smith are not the answer I think one or both might make way for someone like Clarke. Keep the faith, we are only a few points away from being OK and let's face it for us L1 is where we are likely to stay unless someone changes our financial position (more fans or new investment).
