If he happened to go back to Citys youth team and break his leg, my heart would be a little more glad. He now falls in the category of Oldham reject, City :censored:
a bit harsh
something has gone on somewhere probably that he expected to walk into the team and didn't
looks to have ability on the ball but Montano is flying at the mo and Sid is improving so unless we played him off a front man or CM not sure where he was meant to play.
Not really bothered either way but the big build up now looks a bit OTT
-
What about the other after them that kept going in...to the keepers hands?!
yeah i agree he was hitting them with venom but to many favourd the keeper
if he could get them with that kind of pace and dip just a little outside the 6 yard boxes for players to attack I think we would be a real threat from them
-
one of the best shot stoppers ive seen at BP also very good at pens and one v ones.
dodgy kicking and not great on crosses but id have him back in his prime now!
-
well the rumors are growing shame that vale keeper saved his effort at weekend would have liked to see him drill another goal in
never seen a player so lethal from 20 yards at this level nearly all of his goals were from that range
-
hmm still not convinced by Brown. He looks to be filling out physically but his passing is still awful and he isnt comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Tarky has been great so far much just did the basics yesterday and did them well
-
Baxter should start against Tranmere.
why??? id be interested to hear why you would change a team that had 20 shots on goal 10 on target
-
end to end at times dont think we will see too many 0-0 scorelines with this squad
Montano excellent early on fantastic touch and cross for the goal and played some more decent balls in
Mills struggled with Myrie Williams just couldnt match him for pace but OK on the ball and posative going forward.
Tarky and Grounds did OK with the physical threat of vale but Grounds overplayed a bit too often which led to the pen. Defence still a worry really. BUt vale didnt play football so it was just a case of being strong and they were.
Brown did well overall - Huges was in full pantomime villan mode trying to wind him up and get him sent off. Huges is a decent footballer but a grade A knob and his pen wasnt great HAHAHA
Dayton i didnt think was in the game much but great finish for his goal
Smith and Wes worked themselves to death and really turned midfield into a battleground
JCH - Beast! Held the ball, pace to burn caused Vale all sorts of problems and unselfish for Roonys 2nd, His time will come
Roony - Great performance leath in the box worked really hard. Give him service things will happen
Baxter - nice little caemo with the game won still time for 20 smash at goal... but we looked better with 2 out and out forwards.
-
a lot more than baxter. just watch how easy it is to smother baxter out of a game and count how many times he gives the ball away, 250k ? i would snatch their hands off. not that anybody will offer it, nobody wanted him for nowt in jan,
play him as a forward and then try it.....
being played as a CM just isnt his game
-
Some peoples, not most
I'd be happy if a decent loanee came in and it resulted in Mellor coming back into the team in centre midfield
Me to. If Smith gets license to roam. Mellor can sit a little deeper and who knows that might just be the balance we need. Mellor looked decent last season as CM. Its annoyed me slightly that LJ has said he didnt want square pegs in round holes and the straight away we start with a young lad whos never been given a run in he prefferd position shoe horned into CD
-
AS long as this isnt "jobs for the boys" i dont mind - if he impresses fine - but have we not got enough midfielders
-
Maybe mellors injury will be a blessing and most peoples major team concern will get addressed
-
Thought tarky did well yesterday may only complaint was he sometimes took too many touches seemed like he never wanted to be rid of the ball untill he took someone on. Other than Smith hes the only latics play to come out the game with any credit
-
I didn't go to the game yesterday I was at work. I've just watched the highlights from the game and from it you would think Oldham were unlucky. Had plenty of chances to score, good chances too but didn't. Walsall had a couple of chances and scored from a well worked move that got a bit of luck and was finished very well.
Yesterdays result looks more frustrating and disappointing than worrying.
In fairness tarky had two good headers and thats about it. Sid had an effort inside the area under pressure and sent it well over... we didnt create enough and had litle quality on the ball.. It was frustrating but the manner of the defeat was the real issue it was just like last season under Dickov
-
Awful today.. as others have said just like watching Dickovs team. Hoof ball and no one to win it.
Tarkowski did well but hes tendency to overplay could be a problem but well played overall today and looked our best chance of a goal which is sad really. Byrne looks way over the hill despite being only 31/32? can barley move and doesn't look match fit
Brown should not be a first choice right back at this level - awful on the ball and often a week link
Smith covered every blade of grass but cant do it on his own - needs someone alongside him
Baxter is not a CM - i don't want to ever see him here again - hes lethal in the last 3rd play him there!!!!
Mcdonald and Rooney AWOL - that strike force will never work if the ball is played in the air constantly. Neither showed any great movement off the ball either
Dayton - poor lacked effort.
Montano not sure why he was taken off - wasn't great but better than Dayton and had a couple of promising situations
SId - some lively touches early on but didn't find anyone with his crosses
Lots for Johnson to think about hes talked the talk but that was dire today. Walsall pressed us quickly and we couldnt handle it - if thats all a team needs to do for our passing game to dissappear this is going to be a long slog of a season. Back to the drawing board
-
dont think we will see JCH for a bit shame i was looking forward to watching him
-
slim i reckon
-
He may get a chance on the wing hopefully.
hes looked better as a forward - id keep him up there chances permitting
-
Dont do what the guy at stockport used to do and repeat every sponsers name twice . ..."thanks to todays match sponsers manchester airport - manchester airport toadys match sponsers" i dont know why that sticks in my head or grates so much but it really used to wind me up... Everybrand corprate sponser got a double mention and it was really annoying..
Huddersfield announcer used to read out nicknames when they came out here "comes Clarkey....and Boom Boom Mcoom - thought that was a bit cheesy to be honest
-
hmmm hes played right back a couple of times - gave away a pen in one game
still not seen enough from him to suggest hes worth a contract - he has some ability on the ball so like Lee it might become a strangth for him but he doesnt seem strong enough cant see it working as a defender
i hope it goes well for him
-
fine with this big chance for him, looked very lively at the end of last season if he can find some end product he may do very well. All on him now
-
DOnt know if anyone has posted about this yet but how the hell are we rated so highley. Crap facilitys in the main and i would have though we were diffcult to get to - as for the atmosphere.....
-
to me we seem to have signed a lot of creative players who might be ok on 1 game in 5 i think we could be a little lightweight
time will tell
-
Are you basing that purely off Football Manager?
and whats wrong with that?
-
always hated him when hes played against us but keep things together and gets up and down well
how many midfielders do we really need tho. Thats all we seem to be being linked with are we going the flase 9 route
sssh! referee for crewe

we are going to be 6-0 up by half time so we can afford to give a few pens and red cards out
