  1. He's a McDonald or a Vernon, sure. But he's no Redfearn.

Was going to say let's not put Smith in Redfearn's bracket.

Aside from an icing on the cake penalty he also won more points and scored more goals for us in our Championship season than our entire defence and midfield put together this season.

  2. Good point disjointed what people say on here won't impact totally on my decision but with homes games costing me over £70 with travel and ticket costs threads like this 'dont help'.

As leeslover said people on here don' know other peoples situation. I look at £70 on a home game versus 400 nappies for my daughter. In very tough times thats how some fans have to look at whether they go or not.

Thanks again O4U and I haven't lost the plot thank you. You are a very pleasant person aren't you.

  3. Cannot understand wanting United now. If we get through the replay we're ninety minutes from Wembley and I want Barnsley at home. No disrespect to Barnsley, but apart from us (and Brentford who've still got to win two ties including one at Chelsea) they're the weakest side left in the competition.

A bit of me thinks we will stand a better chance though at Goodison if the winner is drawn away to United. Purely on the basis that Everton must surely fancy their chances to win the thing, and if they know the reward from beating us is the sternest test that they could face then it might knock the wind out of their sails, whilst a home tie against the proverbial lesser opposition may act as a further incentive.

    Been thinking exactly the same.

I know a few Everton fan's and they would hate the thought of united Away in the 6th.

  4. Yeah watching MK slide at the minute is good.

On Paper and in an interview this guy would wipe the floor with anyone.

His post match interviews are comedy gold.

Some of the excuses he has come up with at North End have been enjoyable to watch when he isn't managing your club shall we say.

My final word on this is I don't want him either but.... Let's see what he does when he leaves North End and gets a club with a much smaller budget.

  5. Looks like he might get sacked from North End this week.

Before he got the North End job you would have looked at this guy as a good option looking at what how as doing on a budget at Stevenage.

He has a 49% Win Rate throughout his management career including is shocking 60 match run at PNE.

Also helps fund transfers at his clubs from his other business ventures that have made him millions.

I have a lot of mates who support North End and they think the guy is crazy on every level. Can't help thinking he will leave Preston and manage a club on a smaller budget and get success again in this league.

  6. I always remember a Stockport County mate of mine going to a fans forum when Carlton Palmer was incharge. He walked in the rooms to a full room chanting 'We want Palmer out'. 2 hours later he left to 'There's only one Carlton Palmer'. Now this guy couldn't half talk a decent game but was the worst manager most County fans can remember.

For the record I don't think Palmer has been anywhere near Edgeley Park since he left in 2003.

Be interesting to see how much we see of Dickov in a none media paid for capacity.........

  7. Billy Kenny???? Are we talking about his league debut against Charlton where him and Richardson ran the show? I remember an interview with Royle after on GMR saying if he's that good when not 100% fit goodness only know what he can produce when fully fit.

His range of passing that day was something I hadn't seen before at latics, and haven't seen since....

One of the biggest waste of talent's I have ever seen...

  8. Welcome back Lee!

It amazes me how odd some of our so called faithful fans can be.

One minute they are moaning that crowds are so low, and then we get a fan back who has tried something different and they still moan and try and make the fan feel unwanted. Guess what the fans who no longer come aren’t all sat at home listening to latics player they may well be tasting what’s on offer elsewhere.

I say credit to Lee for being open and honest about how he gave something else a go but couldn’t match that feeling you get at BP. The only thing Lee did differently to a lot of other people was be as honest as he was to admit to everyone he was off to watch some footy at COMS.

I live a few miles away from Fleetwood and guess what I quite fancy taking a trip to Highbury and who knows what that may lead to…. Does that make me a shocking fan????

  9. Its been an amazing few days worth of transfer activity which has showed yet again the level of support SC offers OAFC.

One thing is for sure we wont end this season thinking if only we had given it a real go in the transfer window.

A Top 6 finish is looking more realistic by the day.

    Thank you yet again.....
