  1.

    Really?

A solid, league one player. Should be good if he stays. Good goal scoring record for a wide man. I'm not particularly excited though.

That's why I put 'exciting'. It's not exactly gonna have thousands pouring through the gates to see him in action, but he's a good skillful winger at this level.

  2. On the one hand this looks a good signing.

On the other, I can't help but detect the whiff of Kevin Maher about him.....

Yeates is one of those players that I always feared us coming up against. I didn't even know who Kevin Maher was until he joined us.

Of course, it might turn out to be a signing of Ricketts-esque proportions, but on the face of it he's one of our most 'exciting' signings in recent history.

  3. I would love to hear Malcom Tucker's take on this shambles.

It's a bit of a shame that Iannucci decided enough was enough really. There's always so much material available! I'm still disappointed that Malcolm went out with a whimper, but I kind of get where they were coming from with it. It reminded me very much of

    Omar's death

in the sense that they're these big characters/personalities, but ultimately they're actually just a tiny grain of sand in the grand scheme of things.

Not quite sure why I felt the need to offer that piece of fag packet analysis. Sorry.

We've signed Dunn & Burn, kept Forte, Cassidy looks good and Kelly has done a couple of decent interviews since those dark, dark days......

Clearly the bookies, journos and pundits would be surprised.

Finishing 9th in the table would not be failure; it would be progress.

Who said anything about being happy with 16th? Mind you, if we've got 5 games left and we're sat in 21st I'd be delighted if that's where we ended up.

And yes, I think it's perfectly reasonable not to 'expect' to get in the play offs given how often we've reached them over the past 20 years.
