    I know. But that’s a myth.

We sold circa 4000 season tickets last season at £280 a pop.

    That’s 1.1 million.

There’s no way we set our budget off that last season.

    Norwood

    Nuttall

    Reid

    Kurt

    Fondop

Them five alone would be the best part of a million in wages. So what pays the other 20 odd players in the squad??

In the article on the official website it says our average home attendance is 6800- that is what the playing budget will be decided on.

1.1 million in season ticket sales divided by 52 - £21.5k a week.

Circa 3000 POTD paying £25 for 23 games- gives you 1.725 million.

    1.725 million divided by 52- 33k a week.

Our playing budget is therefore anything up to 54.5k a week. Which is far more realistic with a squad of 30 players.

I'd say <50% of season tickets are full price seats - there's a hell of a lot of concessions, whether youth or pensioners etc within that element of the fan base .. that said, with almost the same number of POTD's, it's still a fair amount of money coming in

Wasn't his total over a million last time?

I'm fairly certain that someone/some organisation is doubling it all up - assuming at the end?

The 1st team home hadn't even got to 6 figures when they hit dry land and there were 5 of them rowing ha ha

  3. Mouldy ol' dough is my ringtone and has been for several years now - I know of others that have it too!

Fanfare, will always be my favourite with regards to when the teams come out. Played over a decent PA system (yes, ISZ needs some work in that respect) it really has an effect and stokes memories of our great times ...

  4. Forgetting the result - we generally lost! I remember one particular visit to Brighton where a number of fans congregated in the local pub/hotel named after the ground iirc.

Anyways, the barman had a bit of a fall out with his manageress and promptly walked off leaving the bar unattended .. not the best idea they ever had!

Our lot took full advantage and my endearing memory is a replica shirt adorned fan acting like the head barman at the savoy ha ha ha .. it resembled the ale trail when the last train home was about to arrive .. I've never seen so much drank in such a short time ha ha

Yep remember that well and the chaos after the game with the tube shut! Seem to also remember winning 2-1 at Derby's new ground the round before, with Clyde Wijnyard scoring an injury time late winner!! Great days....

I was just going to mention that as much as i enjoyed the result at UP (club coach so travel wasn't an issue) i can't remember the round before apart from the fact we won! Great times

Phone up and ask! I have nothing but guesswork!

To be honest living as close as I do I'll never need to phone!

It's going to be a major decision to get my refund for several reasons, not limited to the great group of people who i sit in or around (won't know till tomorrow what they're planning to do), I have a great seat with a great view which I'd hate to lose and like I say, living behind the Chaddy, it'd be VERY hard to ignore match day lol  ... I've been in that seat 20 years this year ( it was my 1st priority after leaving the RAF ) and a fan a lot longer having missed out on so much in the late 80's/early 90's ..

I don't have an issue with anyone and what they choose to do, it's just I'm still a little too wound up to make a real n proper decision right now!

It is what it is, and it'll be what it'll be!

Isnt there a 2 week cooling off period with purchases like this? That could be the cut off?

I've just found the crappy paper reciept (like the stuff you find in them corner shop/post office/off license style places) and said reciept says it was bought on the 1st so that's the 2 week window gone ha ha

    Sorry.

I should have quoted jorvic_latic post.

I am not sure how the club would be legally obliged to refund a season ticket purchase in a random or general way, but only in specific circumstances.

If refunds are being made outside certain peramiters it shouldn’t last long - unless nobody is bothering to look.

We've posted at the same time lol

    Cheers for the info!

     No answer?

I'm not being funny, just I'm in the 'bought mine last week and now annoyed' group so I was wondering how easy or for that matter difficult, it may or may not be to get my money back ..

Interested to know what the loophole may or may not be and how long I've got to 'cash in' ha ha

The 3 symbols on the shield are Oldham though not MGS.

yeah like i say, it has some similarities .. the pendant/medal has 3 red roses for one, but besides that it's extremely similar so thought the OP might want to divert their search somewhat!

Their Founder was a bloke called Hugh Oldham too ...  there's possibly a link in that way?

Hopefully Lemsagan sees it, accepts it and will allow Scholes to completely rebuild with his own players.   I doubt we have the funds to achieve this although I’m hanging on the assumption Scholes wouldn’t be here unless he was given guarantees this will happen.

My concern then is even if he has full backing, what happens if we don’t secure promotion or a play-off?  Is Scholes off?  One way or the other I don’t see him extending the 18 months and we start again.... I really hope I’m wrong and this is the start of a new, positive, chapter.

This is what concerns me tbh!

We're caught in a catch 22 situation - as you've rightly stated we need to start with a rebuild (with someone doing the recruiting who knows what players will be good enough!) .. funds are needed to do this obviously, but that's the crux for me! Where are they coming from?

We've paid the season ticket money already - no proof but generally when we pay this 'early' it means it's needed now rather than later! .. The pitch is a high priority - you could even say #1, again where's that money coming from?

I suspect Paul Jewell walked away due the shambles that is our club and how it's run, why wouldn't PS? Yeah he'd look like he's not tried that hard, but another season of dross (simply because next season could be run on a shoe string and a 'hope for the best' attitude) wouldn't appeal i don't think and there's the seemingly infinite problem - the circus starts all over again with some other 'FNG' who's expected to make do and get on with it!

The players have give up, fans are giving up .. why wouldn't PS?

IT'S A SHIT STATE OF AFFAIRS THAT'S FOR SURE!

Why would you think Scholes would get offers elsewhere? Is it based upon his performance so far?

Not based on anything at all! Between now and then anything can happen, and who knows, as much as our club is seemingly a continuous mess, there may be another chairman who thinks he could do a job under more controlled conditions!

AL has put his flag firmly in the ground with regards to player recruitment and I don't see that changing anytime soon - for anyone!

Could be the biggest recruitment in the clubs history. Even some of those contracted to 2020 could be paid off or sold

The OWTB transfer rumours page will run to a million posts.🤔

Depends on who's doing the recruiting?

I 100% sign up to your thinking of them giving up, but not because they necessarily know they WON'T be here next season? .. who's to say that one or two know they WILL and don't have to worry about getting a gig somewhere else!

Our biggest issue will be if PS gets offers elsewhere and laddo gets players in the door before he brings a new man in! .. you know, a bit like in January!

I wonder who the Latics fan currently the farthest distance from Boundary Park is...

I think said person would have to be potentially in NZ (South Island) or even maybe the Falklands? .. if the latter is the case, I claim Jan - May 96 ha ha

Edit :  just checked on a website and i was kinda right! For populations of 100k+ it's Dunedin NZ (19,004 kms) with the 1million + as Auckland NZ (18,133 kms)

So there's a few that have answered my initial posts that know people in that locality to claim that 'title' lol

  15. Thanks for all the helps ... Christchurch is on the South Island - and as much as I know that if my parents managed to get from Royton to Howick, it's possible that someone could travel north from the South Island! .. my dad is a complete eeejut at times, chats away with someone, tells them his 'story' but doesn't bother to ask theirs!

He got the impression (please see above statement) that they were locals - Howick is about the size of Royton so being across from Auckland City is believable?

Ah well ... maybe next time!

He doesn’t often sound arsed about anything to be fair.

If you watch the 1st series of that Salford City, quite early on during a meeting he has a little moan and says " what the f**k have we bought a football club for? " or something along those lines!

We don't need some ex premier league footballer who's bored, we need someone that wants to put his all into it! He doesn't strike me as being 100% committed to us ..
