  1. It got cancelled, get over it!

Club does not need to apologise to fans - the referee inspected the pitch and made the decision, not the club, yes we asked for the inspection but we didnt call it off, the referee did after he told the FL about his findings and they gave him permission to call it off.

We might not like the fact that it was called off, i certainly didnt, but the club didnt call it off, the referee did.

The club asked for the early inspection! All we want to know is why when the forecast was for something of a vast improvement in temperatures!

  2. Using skills of english comprehension, I inferred from the official site article linked to in this thread that the decision was taken so early so as to prevent Swindon embarking on a wasted journey. Surely whether we would have incurred any of their travel costs is irrelevant?

Why do people think we are being facetious for wanting to know why we were called off 26 or 27 hours before kick off when the forecast was for quite substantial temperature increases. Should we be worried about the Swindon team - who by the way could still have travelled after a saturday morning inspection, having a wasted overnight journey - i don't think so!

  3. After all the bad feeling and trying to second guess the reasons for the EARLY postponement of Saturdays fixture, the least i would have expected was an early Monday morning explanation on the official website as to why the decision was made so early! I may be wrong , but i'm pretty sure that if the decision had been left till Sat am, the game would have been on! Does anybody else feel the same?

  4. Two for me.

Went to Derby, mid 80's on Sully's coach. Called off at chippy on way home and it 'ended up on fire!' . Police stopped us and it took forever to get home.

The other was obviously the QF v Southampton in the Littlewoods cup run. Went down on official Latics Liner (train) but with no ticket as it wasn't all ticket game. Went in pub only 100 yds from ground, and then found out Southampton opened some of our away end to their fans. Hundreds and hundreds locked out. Went back to pub and landlord said we'd equilised when we hadn't, needless to say the place got absolutely wrecked! Got in the ground for last couple of mins when they opened the gates to let southampton fans out - just in time to see Stitches second equiliser - amazing day! My pal got arrested that day, and had to go back to court in Southampton, and we then just made it back for the FA Cup replay at Goodison Park
