  1. Lomax started poorly and had his worst game for us.

Does Richie Byrne play left back I'd give him a dabble.

Don't slag Kelvin off, he's a right back learning the game playing in the wrong position.

Eards would be equally poor if deployed as a left back.

Stilll top of the league and some players have not hit peak form yet.

  2. Clear red my bottom.

It does look worse than it is but he wasnt the last man, its not like it was two footed, hes lucky he didnt connect fully with the lad otherwise then it would have been a straight red, for me, its a careless tackle than looks worse than it is.

I was there and it was a stone cold yellow card...the guy was on the half way line and he got up as soon as Gregan left the pitch.

The ref was waving his red before the guy hit the ground...if that was a red Gregan will get another 5 sendings off this season.

  3. It's been pretty full the 2 times I've been (I missed last years debacle thank god) so I reckon it will sell out. I'm sat here smug in the knowledge my ticket has already been purchased; I'm looking forward to a cheap pint in the Raglan Quoites club already :drinking45:

Is Hartlepool the town of strange pub names...not heard that one before!

Can't remember the last time we were going into a game knowing even a defeat and we will probably still be top on Saturday night.

Even Stockport won at Hartlepool a couple of weeks ago so I'm pretty confident we will win.

Only Carlisle can catch us and they play Dirty Leeds.

    HAPPY DAYS

  4. Lost 5-4 On Pens .. not being funny regardless of what cup it is we should be beating the likes of Morecambe.

No more games for the squad / fringe players.

Out of both cups that you could experiment with players....the League all the way now.

Why rest hughes v burnley but play him tonight?

Am I missing something....heard he got injured too.

As long as we beat the Trannies it will soon get forgotten about !!

  5. Just seen that Thursday is now sold-out. Sooo excited - haven't seen The Wheel since the Club Academy gig which was class.

Any idea where's good in town on a Thursday night for afterwards? Have also booked Friday off! Then it's Tranny away, happy days!!!

Cheers for the nod on The Whip. Will have a listen on Myspace.

The Whip don't sound like The Wheel they're more dancey...good buzz at the gigs though.

Pre & Post Gig Pubs for the uni.

Jabez Clegg - across the road on the side street - student big screens decent music.

Kro Bar - across the road opposite uni. - bit pricey and never anywhere to sit (go upstairs it's like someones house).

Big Hands - just up from uni oppposite McD's - bit spit and sawdust but I like it - proper student gaff.

Uni Bar - just go inthe uni - cheapest bar of the lot and decent music.

Indie Clubs after - 42nd Street, Fifth Ave, The Venue, South. - Indie Madchester Classics all night!

    Have a gud un.

  6. Me and the Mrs! Will be in that pub across the road from the Uni from 6.30 on.

    WH-EEL!!!

    I'm there with the missus.

We now have an Oldham band and team with attitude....The Whip are alright as well, gave Latics a mention at the fest...think they gave us an 'ooh Roger Palmer'.

Saw The Wheel at the Castle and at Leeds fest last week....in my top 5 band I saw at the festival.

Booked Friday off for a proper sesh on Thursday.

  7. Taylor is the only player in recent Latics history to be born and bred in Oldham, support Oldham and become a very good Oldham player.

He's like one of the fans but actually playing!

Taylor is probably worth a cool £1 million in todays market.

Can anyone remember the last Oldham born player to successfully play for us.....plenty of mancs but Taylor could be the best Oldhamer to play for Oldham!

  8. I reckon we go 4-5-1 at Leeds.

Quieten the crowd and then hit the Yorkshire Puddins near the end with the young guns coming off the bench Smalley and Allesandra.

    My team

    Crossely

    Eardley

    Stam

    Gregan

    Lomax

    Liddell

    Allott

    Whittaker

    Maher

    Taylor

    Hughes

Sorry Rubes, you've been dodgy first 2 games Stammy's in....not sure about O Gradys best position yet.

Think he played better on left at Dale than upfront v Millwall.

  9. Good value better than Rochdale ^_^

    I agree, very good value.

I reckon we'll take 2,500, a la Rochdale game, make it like a home game.

Been 4 times to Turf Moor, never even seen us score.

I envisage a 2-1 win at Burnley and draw Man U away next round, get £300,000 in gate receipts and watch Hughesy bang in the winner at the Stretford End 1-0 win.

Sorry chaps I've had too many Polish lagers.

  10. Anyone going to The Masters at the M.E.N this summer?

Latics in it for the first time playing Man U,City,Leeds etc.

Has anyone heard who will be playing for us.

I'd like to see in my squad of 10:

    Hallworth

    Barrett

    Irwin

    Ritchie

    Palmer

    J.Sheridan

    Warhurst

    Eyres

    Milligan

    R.Holden

  11. It's funny how people have left the Chaddy End after competing with each other to start the Zigga Zagga song about a "Chaddy roar" that allegedly cannot be heard outside the Chaddy End. Methinks some need to go to Specsavers, where they now sell hearing aids...............pardon?

We have the opportunity to sing it together today and shake the rafters of the Main Stand, in tribute to Ernie.

Can't we rename the RRE to not incorporate the words Rochdale(Scum) in them !!

    Possible names please.

East Stand, Sheepfoot Lane End, Earl Barrett Stand (His sale paid for the stand), Joe Royle End.Roger Palmer Marijauna End.

Lets call it after our best ever player....David Currie Stand

  12. Wow them were the days I was 10 but do remember this one what a dramatic end to the season and one of the best days of my childhood. In the morning I played football for my junior team we were 4-1 down at half time 2nd half I bag a goal and then the flood gates opened and we won 10-4.

Then on to BP Do or die for the boys in blue!

Remember all the goals the mexican wave the southampton fans joined in even the sponsors in the executive boxes joined in Le Tiss bags a hat trick which must be up their as the best performance by a player on the losing team against Latics ever. He nearly sent us down on his own. Utter pandomoniam at the end a mass pitch invasion and as someone has said a proper lap of honour. It is the one premiership game I remember most about.

I still have the highlights on match of the day somewhere incidentally that season we were the 3rd highest goalscorers in the Premier league and because of that Trevor Brooking said we didn't deserve to go down.

    Great days.
