Cheers singe, it's really early stages again. Like I said we have set up a working group and we haven't even met up yet..haha. Anyways An update on that particular space.

Rent is aprox £75k a year...I'm not brilliant with business, so apologies for my naivety...over 52 weeks is £1,442 per week in rent. We then have to factor:

Two home games an average a month and the place can hold a good 100 plus pre and post match.

    beverage/food cost and profit

    Staff costs/door security (maybe)

    sky rental

There is potential of us having a temp rental contract especially if it's just sitting there generating zero.

profits would be for the trust warchest and any other fan funded initiatives, rent would go to the OEC as it is separate to the club. Yes I know this might not sit well with fans too.

Like I said it's really early tentative steps again as we need to see the snagging list. That alone might end thus site as a possible location.

however other fans suggestions coming through gives us good for thought too

cheers to you and all so far who have posted

I think a fans bar is a great idea and much needed. However based on the figures mentioned 75k, that equates to just under £3261 per home game. Factor in possibility of at least two home games over the three cup competitions that reduces to 3k per home game to just pay rent. That doesn’t include other running cost to pay out. Anyone have any idea how much the bar could take off past experience?

  2. I didn't see what happened for the first yellow but the ref had his number from then on.

He slid in on there player trying to make a challenge, missed the ball and got caught with trailing foot which cut his head. IMO it was a foul for recklessly diving in, booking maybe a bit harsh after getting booted in head.

  3. People are forgetting that when you call in sick you're probably not fit to play. Also the team travelled to the Shresbury game in the afternoon, so maybe he was left behind and told to train with the youth team (even though he didn't do) he could still be sick.

There may well be more to it but why is everyone trying to blame someone when it could be that simple.

  4. I can say one thing. I SUPPORT THE CLUB! It's in my heart and who ever they put at the helm, whether I think it's right or not gets my support. We haven't even given the guy a chance.

Johnson was unheard of and had a good start but went flat due to the Evans saga and Barnsley approach. Gotta give Kelly a fair chance, he may prove the doubters wrong. Plus it was obvious we were gonna take the cheap option as we aren't a big club and we don't have a pot to pi$$ in!

  5. I think people need to realise one thing! Two lovely young females tragically lost there lives performing their job and Cregan shot them dead in cold blood. I had the privilage to work along side them as a serving officer for Tameside and the trivial point about where in GMP it happened is farcical! Many colleagues including myself are struggling to come to terms with their deaths and trying to go back to serving the public.

  6. Brill has to take some blame for the goal, he set the wall and from where I was sat behind the goal I saw the foot gap on the rhs of the wall were the ball went.

Saying that people do need to lay off with all the grief they give him. If we attacked better and scored goals and even held the ball up in midfield, then defence would have less work to do. Attack is the best form of defence!

  7. I have used the Teamcard at the club when buying shirts, tickets, etc and it works well I got £30 off my new shirt but when I've tried using it on-line I have never recieved the points and had to chase things up (with Alan Hardys help). Due to it never working I have lost interest and will only use it at the club and will get the discount off my shirt from buying season tickets. KTF

  8. Don't know if it is much to go by (maybe just a random number) but my season ticket number today was 4861 and im guessing there wont be many more than a hundred or so than me so could we be pushing the 5000 mark for season tickets?.... The RRE looked pretty much packed out i only had 2 sections to choose from with about 30 seats in each....But i don't understand how are 4 sections of an almost sell out RRE going to relocate to the smaller section for the games against leeds and hudds??? Surely there wont be enough seats for us all...

Its wishful thinking I'm affraid bought mine and my Mrs ticket the other week and we sit together (obviously) and the book numbers are 3236 and 2437, just books given out randomly to all who chose to risk there hopes and dreams for another season.

  9. I'll be staying in the Chaddy End, I don't see why the NSM people dont fill the gaps in the main stand and CE this would IMO help build a better atmosphere because the fans are all together.

  10. IMO Oldham's problems have only been enforced by the rise of the red scummers in the late 90's whilst it was also our period of decline, many potential fans jumping on the glory train. Whilst the loyal Oldham suppporters carry on following through thick and thin.

We have had little to cheer over previous years but look how crowds do rise when we get the big games over the years ie. play offs, prem clubs in cup runs or LDV trophy Northern-final (As it was then).

What I am saying is you will always have a hardcore fan base you will get glory seekers no matter what club you follow.
