  1. its, allegedly, a bit of a walk from there to ground tho

If u were to walk down Oldham Rd from the station then i'd say a 10-15 min stroll at most. If u were to walk to the top of Hardman Lane, then turn left onto Dalton St, then walk to the end of street (past my house) theres a entrance onto the back which is no more than 200 yards to Broadway (facing where the new ground will be). That will take 5 mins approx.

  2. Doesn't bother me in the slightest. If anything, on a personal selfish note, its closer to where I live now and it gives me one less reason to make a trip towards Oldham town centre

Couldnt get any closer for me. More or less live facing the lancaster club. I also only ever travel to Oldham to watch football. Love the club but hate the town.

  3. Agree. Similar situation for me :)

Me too. Only a 2 minute walk to the lancaster club. When all this talk about Failsworth started, i thought everybody meant the waste land on Moston Brook which i live back to back with. If so, then i think i would've been against it. Would'nt like a stadium right on my doorstep plus i like the privacy that we get with nobody overlooking us. Lancaster club would be ideal for me from a biased point of view.

  4. Rob Purdie's best position by his own admission is on the right side of midfield and Taylor is the best we have to play on the left. I agree that we are one good striker short, but if we are considering making judgement on what we have then in my view Smalley is the best of the rest. We have a great looking midfield. I would have thought that Worthington will be the holding player and the others including Smalley as the second striker come 5th midfield player will be able to interchange and support Abbott up front. The opening day of the season will certainly be very interesting. Based on who we have, I suggest the starrting line up would be

    GK- Flemming (initially)

    Back4 - Eardley, Hassell, Gregs & Jacobson

MF - Purdie, Worthington, Furman & Taylor

    ST - Abbott & Smalley

We are all speculating on the new lads until we have seen them, but I'm sure you would agree that it looks quite promising.

Who's Hassel and Gregs? Are these the other 2 new players?

  5. Its not really freekicks we have a problem with... at least we score a few off them its all these corners i worry about. we must of had well over 100 last season and how many did we score. 1 i think coming from reuben hazell. we really need to sort our corners out.

    Taylor header away at southend.

  6. Eardley wasnt blameless, however the keeper takes responsibility there imo. He can see the whole picture whereas Eardley had his back to the opposing player etc, Supple said nothing but rushed out and got nowhere near the ball, if your going to come you commit and take everyone out and get the ball.

thats exactly how i seen it. keeper error.

  7. My wife aint that arsed about valentines day. I hope!! My wedding anniversary falls on the start of every season (aug 10) and not only that, weve booked a holiday that falls on the playoff weekend. Im gutted. I cant get out of it. Shes counting down the days. Im not the only stupid 1 though as my mate has organised his stag weekend that same weekend. lol
