  1. Wow.....football for sure is about opinions!

Everybody had stinkers today with the exception of an industrious Kelly......but I don't agree with 'Melia' when you said Connor was one of our better players and that he should of stayed on the pitch.

I have been one of his strongest advocates and desperate for him to get a chance but he had a mare today....he constantly gave the ball away and looked awfully nervous against there right winger (Laklovic I think).....gutted for him today but he looked far worst than the rest.....I thought Lee would of subbed him at half time to be honest!!

Bad day at the office tonight and will need a big improvement if we are to get anything from Scunny!!

  2. Harsh on Trotman boys, way too harsh! He defended pretty well from where I was sat, and between him and Hazell we looked very solid. Great work defensively from the full-backs made for a good day of defending all round.

Think you are giving Taylor a bit too much kudos too. Not that he played poorly, but I thought at times that he could have been better served giving us som more width - not meant as a stinging criticism though because he had a pretty good evening.

Signing Morais should be a priority, we need to keep as much of this team together as possible because they have a real spark. Thought the midfield two were excellent despite it being pretty congested in the middle of the park and relatively little movement in front of them when they had it deep - but conditions were tough and they were athletic and big across the pitch.

All in all this is a great side to watch, I'm loving the committment that each and every one of them shows every week. Reid looked very sharp, Evina is a proper footballer and a great addition too. Really like the whole team celebrations and was loving Hazell's enthusiasm after Reid got his goal - maligned for being a bit of a stump but he loves it and that counts for an awful lot.

This division is there for the taking, and our squad looks as strong as any I've seen at the club for ages. Bringing on Reid, Jones and Feeney? That says to me that we have options, and we have so much pace and skill in this team that we really could beat anyone.

Overall a really good night, and a massively impressive win against a team who are difficult to look good against. First half here and the performance at Brentford suggests that we are toughening up a little, so hopefully Carlisle was a blip.

If we had another couple of thousand through the gates things would be rosy!

Agree with that.......beginning to see a very good partnership at the back with Rubes and Trotters.

Happy with all aspects of the game tonight...............and with regard to signing Morais up for the rest of the season.........I'm sure the club are doing what they can do under the circumstances

After what happen in January's transfer window, I have complete faith in Simon Corney's dedication to this club..........I am sure he speaks to Dickov often and has seen first hand the performances of Morias - therefore I am confident if the signing was possible he would be trying to make it happen.

  3. it certainly warms the cockles seeing people losing their jobs in the middle of this recession

If they don't have clubs - I see your point. However with the financial restrictions at Oldham there is no place for sentiment and besides this settlement is mutually agreed and should give the player time to find a new club instead of at the end of the season when out of contract.

Anyway I am willing to bet most will have clubs already, I know Jacobson has been offered and signed a deal at Accrington...........and remember a player out of contract can sign out of the transfer window!!

  4. Just spoken to a current Premiership scout friend of mine who told me Abalimba was the best young prospect he had ever seen when he recommended him from Southend a couple of years ago.

I notice PD is adding pace in abundance to his squad.

Todays football is all about pace and power!!!

  5. Thanks for your efforts Kelvin and I wish you well in finding a new club.

Is it wrong to be very happy with the club at this moment?.....Dickov has built a good footballing side on meagre resources and in the same process got rid of all the driftwood / deadwood.......I am feeling very happy with the club at this moment in time!!!

    Missed anyone?

    ............and if by magic 'voila'

Thanks 'prozac'..........incidentally your sig mentions your first game being Crystal Palace - Free schools tickets right  it was my first game too

  7. Amos

    Holdsworth Hazell Trotters Black

    Lee Furman Jones

    Morais Taylor

    Brooke

Stephens & Tonk need a rest. Just cant see feeney doing anything, Also allows us to control the midfield more with either Lee, Furman or Jones sitting infront of Hazell of Trotters when attacking as Holdsworth and Black will be further up the pitch acting like wingers when attacking, with morais and taylor making it into a front 3, with 2 of the 3 CM's pushing up the pitch

A rest as in drop them?.........they can't be knackered they have just had 5 weeks off!!

I do agree with you though, they are short of confidence and need to find it with a stint in the reserves.

  8. That may be the case now but it wasn't when you posted originally

You've changed your response. This reply does not make sense..........of course the status quo has changed........he has allegedly been offered a contract extension........?!

I originally posted to say that (according to his agent) Keiran wanted to stay and that he was still awaiting and hoping for a contract offer from Oldham.........nothing more!!

Just recently I posted to say that he has recieved an extension to his contract which he is considering........what gives........... :disappointed:

I could keep this information to myself........but I figured fellow tics would be interested to know where contract negotiations were at.

If I were Kieran or the club though, I'd be mightily pissed off if my agent was discussing confidential information with all and sundry!!

'All and sundry'.........never been called that before .........however I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it!!

Regarding Keiran, his agent and the club.........I wasn't told in confidence and he didn't go out of his way to keep this a seeeeecret...........and I am neither Keiran, his agent or the club.........but yeah I guess I'd be a little pissed off being talked about in the public domain.......therefore I will say no more.

Other than to say he should sack his agent (he's no good anyway)

  9. You speak as if that's a fact, was that a nod, wink or actual verbal indication ;-)

Although this still is not fact (just a nod, wink and verbal indication), I have it on good authority (his agent) that the club have now offered Keiran an extension which his agent is recommending!!

Looks like we are building for life after this season

  10. 4609 it holds. Take into account they was stood up all game, which covers the views of alot of seats not being sat in, and their was a few spare near the end of stand, + the yellow JD banner which takes up over 100 seats, you probably could

I forgot about the banner..............but still didn't we say that they had sold 3700 tickets and there was still pay on the day!!

Smells a bit fishy thats all......don't matter either way I guess

  11. OMG 3-0 down WTF is going on!!!!!!

Just goes to show......leave your best 2 players (this season) out in a cup we need a financial windfall from!!

Even the Latics commentators are talking nonsense...........we are 3 down and they are taking about needing 2 goals

Last time I looked, the FA cup was played over 1 game each round unless and replay was needed.......therefore can we score 3 fecking goals please Oldham

    Edit......3-1..........thats a start!!
