  1. I know his agent and he mentioned that Kieran is very happy in the North West and enjoying his football.

After recently falling out with football (possibly something to do with not being selected)......he is know happier with life and has indicated to the club that he would be happy to accept a contract extention.................

.................the only trouble is that Oldham have not offered him anything yet!!

  2. My first game was Crystal Palace around 84/85..............it was a ticket sent to the local schools for increasing the gates

Things I remember most about the experience was the deafening noise from the old woodern stand in the Chaddy (Top of the Chaddy - fenced off after the Bradford disaster) and Roger Wilde blowing a kiss to the crowd...........Latics won 2-0

  3. was deffo a pen imo and his goal was well taken , the thing is if taylor gets caught he goes down and it works why complain, if tounkare would have done the same at brighton we would have had a stonewall pen but he stayed up and missed the shot, most people have been saying get a grip taylor ( inc myself) and now he is putting great prefomances in get behind him and the lads not continue to find faults !!!

Exactly................our clubs supporters never fail to disappoint me.............I know lots of opposition players that get on my nerves, but I'd rather have them that not (one such player manages us now).

We won yesterday and certain opposing fans don't like the way we acheived this.......Get a grip, I don't know many fans that would'nt.......

Latics are not going to have a succesful season playing gloriously whilst topping the fair play table...........I know we have brought in players from the premiership but please do not think we can compete on that level.

...........and one more telling fact - being trained by PD will only increase our aggressiveness which will undoubtedly incur the wrath of further opposition fans from venting their spleen when things haven't gone their way!!

  4. As for PlayItLivo I would normally have done this by PM but he has that disabled and so I must resort to more public matters. He has considerable previous for acting in a Troll like manner and it's only through our previous policy of allowing banned members to return under new identities as long as they abide by the rules (far from dictator like, I think?).fair enough that will explain why you did this in the public domain

However in recent months it has become apparent that members have been abusing the more relaxed approach we've adopted, to the detriment to OWTB as a whole (to the extent that once I know the site is in safe hands I'm walking away, as I've lost all love for Latics and this hate-filled place).sorry to hear this, like I said I think you do a thankless job

This is not a policy I would expect to last forever, however it was not something we could avoid at the time.hope not.....my son will want to join in a couple of years

  5. Tried it, didn't work. So we've locked the doors and we're culling the trolls for the benefit of the masses. The member above has been banned once for acting like a spoilt child and will be banned again if he goes down that same path (this is not an extreme example of those actions, merely an indicator that they remain his MO).

........Hmm I've read through many threads on similiar issues on this forum but I'm not convinced this is the right course of action...........I know you have a thankless task and god knows you guys need saint hood for the agro you put up with............but this attitude has all the attributes of a dictatorship and lets face it - you mods knew what you were letting yourselves in for when you accepted this responsibility.

New, old or existing members should be able to come on the 'Official Oldham Athletic website' to vent their anger or joy regardless of their disposition.............if the doors are locked (as you put it) and the trolls are being culled (next you'll be claiming that I'm a troll)........then how can Oldham Athletic condone OWTB as their official site?????........the site needs to be open for all fans unless they fail to abide by the sites AUP.................Your reply to 'PlayitLivo' was an flagrant misuse of your authority and didn't warrant the response that you given............if you need an excuse to (culled) somebody I suggest finding a reason that doesn't leave a bad taste in the mouths of existing members............ :disappointed:

.............and I happen to think you do a great job moderating / administrating this site........please don't lose your way!!

  6. Stop. Fishing.

You've had several public warnings now, don't make be ban you again. It's tiresome.

There has been loads of nonsense on this board about people taking things far too seriously and needing to lighten up a little......................I think our admin / mods need to learn from this example :disappointed:

.........whoever the fan was, it's clear he wasn't speaking for the majority of us.............how the feck do we turn a great result today in to another disolusioned thread?

  7. Personally, I don't care how bad the team is, how poor the atmosphere is or how big a dump the ground is - it's part of who I am.

In my opinion, going to watch my LOCAL team, week in, week out makes me better than most other people, certainly most other so called football fans.

There is nothing, nothing that anybody could do - owner, manager, player, fellow so called supporter - that would make me cut my nose off to spite my face and stop going.

The worse it gets the more steadfast I become.

The worse it gets the better the last minute winners, the little chinks of light get.

To be fair until this post, I thought you we just a wind up merchant.......Alas I think I understand you better!

..........and this post perfectly sums up my attitude towards everything Latics

  8. Its often said that you are not a bad team if you can pick up wins when you have not played so well. very true

Did not think Bournemouth were as good as people are making out. Both managers had done their homework and to some extent cancelled each others tactics out. Referee was as poor as I have seen for some time and that did not help matters. disagree.....we were second to every ball today....my mate said it was just a bad day at the office....my reply was centred around Bournemouth not allowing us to play........hence I thought they had a good gameplan and were executing it perfectly........that was until Dickov shown the faithful that we do infact have a plan B :)

Straight cough from Eddie Howe. It was a cross and not a shot. Brill knows he was in the wrong and I cannot see how it does any good some people booing a player. yeah not to happy about people booing him.....I had an argument with a fellow fan that just couldn't refuse abusing him.......yes he is dropping clangers, he is also savings one on ones.........but c'mon fellow tics........abusing a player whilst still on the field is a disgrace and not doing his confidence or the teams any good............still it wouldn't be latics if we didn't have a fall guy when we are losing ........I also seen some other numpty hurling abuse at a young ballboy today......and it's becoming more and more widespread........

Like people say your only have to see the clangers dropped recently by far betters keepers to take this mistake into context.

I believe that Brill is playing far better than when he came at first and has pulled some great saves off already this season.

Great wing by the boys today and the most pleasing aspect is the way they worked for each other near the end. At one time I am not too sure we would have made such a comeback. agreed, i do believe we have a plan B.......well done boys, i'd say more of the same next week, but I would like to see a better performance as well.......god i'm hard to please

    Barry

  9. Let's have some transparency.........how easy is it to show what we will in all probability be starting off with.....be open with the fans.....it just might work!

    Absolutely..........thats my point

Let the fans see what the club intend to build and not it's potential and let the cards fall where they will................I'll be there come what may, i'd just prefer to have my expectations realised and not extinguished

  10. The picture I used was one that was used today to show how they WANT to build the stadium

Yeah I understand that but it's clear that some people see the presentation and think YEAH I like it (with corners) only to be hit with the harsh reality..............oh well lets hope they WANT to spend a little more or get future investment in to build the corners

  11. This 2 tier / 4 separate stands stadium has been done to death............. :ranting:

Nothing has changed regardless of what the OS is trying to say..............it's going to be a 4 seperate stand stadium......not a horse shoe like some are suggesting - the corners (all 4 of them) will be filled in when needed or when future investment is made.

Whilst becoming a supporter of the new stadium, I have got to ask the question......why oh why do we keep seeing the horse shoe / 2 corners linked design in the fly by presentations as 'underdog' has mentioned .............can the TTA not show us what we are really going to get or are they trying to sell the potential of the stadium instead of the unglamourised 4 seperate stands.............

'Wardlelatic' - you too keep mentioning and posting links to this horse shoe / 2 corners linked design..........that is not what we will be getting built..........for a realistic veiw please refer to the PDF shown on the OS (new stadium look)

  12. Lol...Sheridan will never learn...

Don't expect Casper to come out fighting for you when you need it! Another bottler like we saw from many under Shez when March came along...which conincidently (or not)...you've just experienced yourself!

    Completely agree.........good luck though Danny

  13. It just makes me laugh that when we signed him people were slagging him off before he had even kicked a ball and now he has turned out to be one of the best loan signings we've had in a few years, all those people have suddenly gone quiet. Maybe the lazy :censored: abbott should take note of the effort guy puts in every single game and learn something from him.

Here we go again........Abbotts the fall guy now........priceless - you my friend are a feckin retard

Nothing against Guy, he always puts a shift in and I hope we can secure him for the rest of the season but learn from Guy........you have been on the weed mate. Although Abbot has not been at his best recently, he does what all target men do and may I add with a bit of finess too - Besides Gregan, he has been the player of the season you nugget.................but lets face it you wouldn't be a Tic if you didn't have something to complain about!!

It make me piss how people all need a fall guy nowadays and to pick Abbott, well feck me we are scrapping the barrell..........go back to watching prem football......I hear Berbatov is not needed at Manure.

  14. I remember being impressed with the City away end......THE OLD PLATT LANE......it was immense to see the Latics faithful filling it and approx 1/3 of the kippax........the game was a mixture of emotions..........going in front and then having to equalise to take it to a reply but a real footballing day with the earlier semi result..............i would give my right arm for a day like that again

  15. Tense game today, both teams played like dogs fighting over a bicycle, neither knows why they want it or what to do with it if they get it.

Brill pulled of a couple of saves, good to see the lad bounce back.

Glad Black played, a few crap balls but he has a left foot which isn't a bad starting point for a left full back. I hope he keeps his place.

Gregan - do I need to say anything?

Rubes was back to the Rubes we know and love.

    Lee played well

Millar, not as bright as Tuesday but linked up well with Lee, a good performance.

    <space purposely left blank>

Stephens was quiet, did what he needed to do and set our goal up.

Taylor, the boy looks wrong, something is the matter, injury, booze, flu or whatever but this is not Chris Taylor

Abbott good to see him put a shift in. Also good to see him telling their bloke to pick on someone their own size after Millar had flattened them.

Guy was lively and got the goal.

Whitaker, but than Worthington, nearly got one himself.

Eaves, would like to see him given a chance but maybe now isn't the right time, does ok when he comes on but does need a goal.

3 points in the bag, did what we had to do, confidence looks shot but hopefully today goes some way to getting some back. The crowd was small but got behind the lads, a few boos at half-time, perhaps Ferney kicks out early these days?

Couldn't agree more.................although IMO Lee played better than 'well'......has been putting in some great shifts recently!!

  16. good post prozac......agree with all comments bar the one made about a young Mr Lee - i think you are being a little harsh on Lee. Personally I thought he did well yesterday, he looked acomplished and linked up with Colbeck pretty well.......might have been at fault for their goal by getting caught up field but I am fine with that - we were actually pushing on trying to force a winner.

Although most of the season has been sh*te, I actually took some heart from the performance yesterday.............. B)

  17. Just recieved Alan's reply:-

    Paul

    Thanks for the email.

That is just the kind of feedback we are looking for.

Thanks for taking the time and trouble to pop down on Thursday, I thought it was extremely useful and I am really excited about the plans, when fans see the full site layout, after we have completed the full consultation process, I think they will be even more excited.

    Regards

    Alan

I am becoming very excited myself

Cracking post aswell prozac.........sums up my feelings perfectly

the boys hanging on at prenton park as well............the positivity is gaining momentum.......

  18. before the plans were even graphite in a pencil some people were saying "I don't want a bowl" whilst others were saying "I don't want 4 stands" and most were saying "we want unique" - unique is not determined by how many corners the ground does/doesn't have - there are 4 sided/1 cornered /2 /3 cornered and full bowls. The main stand proposal is what will make it unique.

Fair enough, although I have not read that in this post..........my posts are regarding what I found myself. I went to the stadium to see the plans and what the club had proposed......I was very happy with what I found only to get mixed messages from the fans on this forum the same night. Although I thought I had seen the plans that were to be submitted plus some revised planning tweeks, I will now await the so called FINAL plans that are being talked about.

And does the look of the stadium in terms of having/not having corners affect whether people will support at club even by the tiniest margin? Nah. I don't think so.

It shouldn't but I can't speak for the fickle fans amongst us!!

A question for you though...........are you happy with the plans that have been posted on the OS / available for veiwing at the ground and the possible money generating spin offs ? .......afterall the club are asking for your opinion....my issue is that it seems they have not shown me what some are saying is going to be submitted for approval

Therefore my answer is YES, I'm very happy with the plans I have seen............oh wait a minute, we are not building that are we!!

  19. But hey, some people need to find something to complain about. If it had all 4 corners, it'd have been the "didn't want a bowl".

OMG some people just can't resist it..........REAL, I usually have a lot of respect for your posts but that comment is tosh

are you really suggesting that people should veiw whats on offer and accept something completely different

I, like DAZLATIC, walked away from the stadium plans thinking 'get in there, i'll go for that'...............that was no tale.....so was that wrong of me?

.........and before anybody starts with this negativity drivel, I am behind whatever keeps this club afloat..........but when the club ask fans for their opinion - i'll give it to them without glossing it up

  20. I just dont get it. I really dont.

I havent read everything on this thread so it may have been explained - however I really dont understand why a bit of curved masonary makes so much difference to peoples lives? If its a capacity thing, fair enough, however for most people seem to indicate that having two corners will make them contented little souls, whilst 4 stands will make them angrier than Gene Hunt after someone has keyed the quattro....

Whats not to get.........I am trying to explain that they sold me the idea of a stadium as shown on the OS site (horse shoe) they still have............if that is not what they had in mind to build, why not show the plans for a 4 stands stadium at the out set.........it's false advertising............nowhere is there a plan of a stadium with 4 seperate stands...........post one up and maybe I will be as excited and people can decide for themselves

I know if I went to an audi garage and the salesmen shown me a Quattro and further down the line sold me an A3 - it would be parked back on their car park with an angry customer wanting what he was promised

  21. I am just puzzled as to why Phase 2 was rolled out on the website to the public before Phase 1 has been seen there, I've never known plans presented like that before and some might say it's putting a fine spin on things and suspect Phase1 doesn't look too eyecatching.

........because phase 1 would'nt have looked as attractive as phase 2..........making it's very hard to sell phase 1 to the doubters

I have trolled through all the posts and veiwed the OS plans...........and its as clear as day

EXPECT A STADIUM WITH 4 SEPARATE STANDS............THERE IS FOOKS CHANCE OF ANY CORNER STANDS BEING BUILT NOW OR IN THE FUTURE

It's a shame really because as an original Failsworth doubter, I suddenly found myself dearing to believe..........that was until I read through the posts in this thread

LAGS is right........it's all smoke screens and mirrors...........if you are going for planning permission for a stadium with 4 separate stands (phase 1) - why show the fans a different set of plans showing corners (phase 2)........

I have never been so emotionally drained as I am at moment...........earlier tonight whilst veiwing the OS plans I was giddy with excitement and for the first time in ages I actually believed our fortunes could be changing.........I got a buzz FFS

A note to the TTA........oh forget it, i'll probably say something I will regret in the morning..................Is it wrong to want the best for my club?

PHASE 2 LOOKS AMAZING AND GETS MY FULL SUPPORT...............phase 1 falls considerable below that beit a new stadium or not

  22. Said in the summer when we signed Pav, he wasn't an out and out target man - he's done brilliantly in the role though but he enjoyed his most prolific spell playing off Andy Booth at the Galpharm - hopefully he'll be equally as productive alongside Price.*

    * As long as Penney doesn't play him at left-back!

Good call that........there were my thoughts also..........if Pav gets the knock downs and flick ons in the box, he'll pop then in the onion bag.

Too often Pav has tried to link up play away from the box which negates his quick thinking and silky skills where it matters - baring down on goal
