  1. My 13 year old daughter is staying with me this weekend and I brought up the football conversation with her, though I have took her to BP on several occasions she is now a Scouse red fan due to her mothers family and I understand though I would love to alter her alegence and understand she has been whitewashed by others would love to show her the great loyalty we show as a fan base she seems to associate going to watch Latics as an excuse to get a Pie, yes in past I have bought her a pie when she has come with me to BP but how do I convert her from Pie eater to loyal Tic?

  3. Though the Chron is clearly doing all to again hinder the club in any way possible, reading the report worries me as to the short term cash flow. If the club is really so strapped for cash as to see the wages being a struggle because of a postponment then things are obviously worse than previously admitted. If the Swindon postponment put the club in such a financial problem then all hands on deck should have been requested in the run up to the fixture to ensure it was played. As for boxing day and the Dale game, is it too much to ask for the club to work with us who would gladly help in anyway to protect he future and make sure the game goes ahead?

If the cash flow is that strained then a look at covers ect must be thought of as £80000 is a massive sum.

Isn't it about time that the local so called newspaper worked with the club and actually for a change helped Latics in some way rather than scare mongering and gloating.

As for Latics "Keep us informed more!!!!! if there is a chance of a Boxing Day game with the help of snow shifters tell us now and ask for helpers, if the cash flow is that bad ask for the Hair Drier brigade and ensure at least the short term safety of our beloved!!!!!!

  4. Though I have returned to the UK having missed the first two games of the season.(wife's 40th birthday) Having read the posts over the last week am I right in thinking the commitment and passion from the team is there this season as it wasn't under DP? I assume the truth over how good we have been is a happy medium and we are showing good signs but both games have seen our defence exposed though we have managed to win. I feel from the forum the expectations are running high throughout and really now can't wait to get back to BP and beyond for the first time in months.

  6. I've attempted to get to the key criticisms you have made of penny:-

So, 3 managers, all seem to get the same type of stick from some of the fans. What's the common factor? Maybe the fans who like to chant for managers heads have got what they wanted - no decent manager will come and we get what we can get?

RM finished 10th - hounded out by fans

Shez finished 8th, 10th, sacked at 8th - hounded out by the fans

Now we've got a manager who has us at 17th. The "fans" weren't happy at 10th etc, so inevitably they are not happy at 17th, they can start it all over again, see another manager out and another new one in. I wonder what will be happening come March 2011?

Quite right, how many managers have to be hounded out by our fans, this season is and always has ben a transitional season and no matter if we had been tenth at this stage, Penney would have been hounded by the boo boys
