  1. :curtains:

    :hooked:

    No denying it.

    SORRY.

A thesis on Social Networking ranging from Internet forums, networking sites, chatrooms and levels of personal privacy on the Internet meant I had to do it. Honestly, I thought that this would be sussed within weeks, but I guess the lack of 'photographic evidence' and no 'expert' assistance from my teenage daughter all contributed to it's downfall.

If anybody cares to track the the history of "TRIKKINIKKI", they will see the evolution from tentative postings through to downright cockiness. Even when people started to 'twig' that something was not as it should be, there was still that level of 'maybe, maybe not'. I gave enough clues, especially in the Chatroom and I presume it was only the change in my syntax that finally clinched it. Or maybe the sheer horror of a female knowing too much about football was too much to take!

My argument is that an older male/female, posing as a younger male/female will not be challenged by males/females of the target group. It takes someone of a similar age and maturity to recognise the impostor. I notice on here, that the levels of security and moderation have lessened and that has brought more abusive language etc. I really thought the Adult Avatars had gone unheeded, which was surprising, seeing as you don't know the actual age of the people using the forum. Still, you recognised the potential problem and have addressed it.

One thing you haven't done, is throw an outright accusation, which means either you were still unsure, or you respect individual privacy. I hope it was the latter.

Feel free to delete the account, I won't be using it again, as next time I join it will be as a genuine male participant.

Good luck to Joe and the team tomorrow.

Nothing worse than Blokes getting rumbled is there !! wink.gif

Some learn, some continue.... Its all aprt of the fun laugh.gif

Not really, just depends how thick your skin is.

  2. And if she saw your Avatar, you'd probably get a slap and be sleeping on the sofa.

From a female point of view, if I was married to you lot, you would be in for a shock because I would rather go to the football. My walk in the park would have to be Boundary Park. A romantic meal could consist of a pie and a nice drinky. I might even wear something romantic a bit later on in the shape of a Latics top with some fancy trimming.

Ha, ha! Which one of you boys got rumbled?

As the above quote shows, I did point out the potential pitfalls of said Avatars a long time ago. :stretcher::tongue1:

  3. Why would he leave a Prem club too come to a club in turmoil? I wouldnt want to go near Oldham playing wise if I was a football

If you were a football I'd hope you do better than the other footballs we've had.

They were rubbish. Not wanting to fly into the net and all that.

Think I'm a bit giddy, now.

  4. With the exception of his one year at Man City where he dragged them out of this level kicking and screaming he then went to Ipswich and was sacked in the summer of 2006 for being a fottball dinosaur and playing to much long ball football sound familiar? One thing is clear is that he would never have got the time now to build the team and the success he did then the messageboard mafia who have never been in a football dressing room and think that football management is a doddle will just have hounded him out.

As much as I agree with the Internet giving fans more access to information and having a greater voice, I don't for one minute believe that what we say on here influences the decisions at the club. They may read this board because it is linked to the main site, but no businessmen with any sense would base a decision on what they read on a forum.

If we had beat MK Dons on Saturday, John Sheridan would still be in charge. I think that maybe the directors had contacted Royle with a "what if" scenario and that scenario ended up being played out.

What the fans do and say on here is just an outlet for our views and expressions and not a business template for the Directors.

  5. Well, what a revelation.

Obviously Wright is staying as assistant. I wonder if Ritchie or Dowie will be approached for the permanent position.

On a philosophical note, if we don't achieve promotion, it won't be Joe Royle's fault, if we do, will Sheridan get any credit or will Royle take all the plaudits? Silly question, I know, but one that has to be asked. :)

Should be an interesting end to the season and it's my chance to see what all the fuss was about.

  6. Just a point re:Alessandra.

He has not been given the opportunity to form what could have been an effective partnership with Hughes.

    Hughes/Alessandra

    Old head/young head

    Power/pace

    Confident/Confidence growing

    Goals/Goals

All we have now, is yet another young player with no confidence. Hence, he falls over.

  7. Where is he? Has he gone back?

If not, why put Liddell on in place of Taylor? Surely Jones would be better with Smalley on the opposite flank and Golbourne at Left Back.

Why play a 19 year old loanee instead of our own established player?

Why persist with Kabba instead of Alessandra?

    Puzzled.

  8. Still 1 point off the play-offs, with a chance to overhaul Tranmere on Saturday.

Poor last 2 results, but as we are still very close to the play-offs. If we keep theis current run going then I'll 'give up' this season, but whilst 2 wins from the next 2 results would likely see us back in the play-offs I still believe.

The only problem is, Latics are in poor form, Tranmere are in good form.

  9. The directors will decide because they have the final say. From a personal point of view, if this incident did take place, then it's a disgrace and discipline needs to be handed out. Sacking members of staff will not do the club any favours regarding the promotion challenge, but then again, after the shambles on Saturday, I think that may be a pipe dream anyway.

Just how much this "incident" had to do with the effectiveness of the performance, the apparent injury to Taylor and the jaded players, I don't know. One thing is for certain, the club, publicity-wise, has had an absolute battering over the last seven days. All that hard work with the Breast Cancer aid will now be forgotten by the nation's press.

One outcome I can see and I don't condone it, is Sheridan getting sacked and Tommy Wright/Tony Philliskirk being asked to take control for the rest of the season with a "no pressure, just do the best you can" from the directors.

  10. Yeah, try Millwall, Leeds, Cheltenham, Tranmere, Herefore, Scunthorpe, Northampton, Southend, Walsall, Crewe, Hartlepool, Stockport, Northampton, Millwall!

Oh, hang on, we won those, so they don't count!

I'd bet me life savings that if and when we beat Tranmere and Franchase, you won't be coming on here slating Sheridan!

    Fickle lot on here...

I'm sorry, but praise WHEN praise is due, and a moan when moaning is due. You cannot argue with that!

Joe, Shez is bound to get some stick on here after that and to be honest it is deserved. He will get more abuse than he deserves though so in that sense I can see where you're coming from.

Like you say he will probably put it right over the next couple of games, but then results like todays just get more frustrating and the Shez abuse is then fueled by that as opposed to quenched. It's funny, I think we could have the same amount of points but if we collected them a little differently then Shez would be much more popular!

Fact is many football fans will berate whoever the manager is for every mistake made. They get upset about the game because they care so much and feel better for venting their frustrations through typing whatever about whoever. Some even get upset enough to resort to berating him for phrases used in meaningless interviews and being a manc. If it makes them feel better, leave them be! That is what I have slowly learnt!

Agree on the Windass change, not a good signing Shez! He's slowing us down (in more than one sense!).

Yes, because having a moan gets it out of your system. It's not a personal attack, it is justifiable discontent.

  11. Awful performance, full of mistakes, lack of confidence, lack of ideas. Not good enough!

    We'll beat MK next week!

I think this week has been the tipping point of our season.

There has been a lot of damage done at the club this week and in my heart of hearts, I can see us dropping out of the top six.

All enthusiasm has gone after the lackluster Leeds match and all the hoo-hah over Windass etc.

  12. To say that Sheridan picked the wrong player to replace Taylor.

Why no Golbourne at Left Back and Jones on Left Wing? Why not give Lee a start instead of pointer?

Why can't we play at BP?

Why was Windass even on the bench?

Why did we have NO shots at all in the first half?

Why did we concede after only 2 minutes?

Why will we still be in Lague One next season?

    Very disappointed. :disappointed:

  13. The same attitude which saw us scrape a play off spot two years ago despite auto being in reach going into the Easter weekend...

Of all the teams in the playoff zone, we are the most perilously placed. Having played the most games, MK Dons, Millwall and Scunthorpe (7th at the moment) could be higher placed if they win their games in hand. Obviously, I would rather have the points on board, as playing catch-up can bite a team on the bum.

Just keep winning. I hate these points targets. Winning is and should be the aim, let the points take care of themselves. With thirteen games to go, anything could happen.
