The noise greeting Ngoo coming on to the pitch is without a shadow of a doubt racist....non malicious but nevertheless racist[/quot

It's the same noise I've been greeted with by my mates for years!

Thanks so much for making me realise they are really a set of racist wankers though!! I don't know how it never dawned on me!

    Oh that's right, it's because I'm not a bellend!

  2. What do we think the chances are of being able to obtain a back 4 or 5 row seat for someone that didnt have a Lookers season ticket?

    Slim to none?

I suppose it depends where you want to sit. If you're not precious about which end you're at then I reckon you should be ok.

My wife went for me & a group of mates this morning & by 11am the furthest back we could get was the row in front of the yellow corporate seats.

We sent her with a brief to get as close to halfway as far back as she could & that was the best she could do.

If you were happy being right at one end or the other you may be ok.

  3. Is it just me who thought we were actually pretty poor in the 1st half? Looked half arsed, not really up for it & lacking any quality at all.

2nd half we were a completely different team, came out really fired up, all over them & were superb.

Thought Rachubka & Kelly were top drawer today. That clean sheet will do us the world of good!

  4. Montano is on film clearly admitting that he was deliberately trying to get booked, that in itself is an act contrary to the best interests of his employer. Therefore we have no issue as far as I can see for sacking him on the grounds of gross misconduct.

That misconduct only becomes a criminal offence if / when it can be proved that i) he made a gain or caused another to suffer a loss due to his dishonest act, or ii) that he entered into an agreement (a conspiracy) with another to carry out a dishonest act to make a gain for himself / cause loss to another.

Therefore it is perfectly conceivable that we can sack him, but there not be enough evidence to prosecute him, yet both decisions still be correct.

  5. He looked dreadful at Col U 1st game, I then didn't see us until Fleetwood at home in September & the difference was staggering,

He really is the heartbeat of the team, keeps everything ticking over. Without him we just grind to a halt.

We've been through spells where we've lost big players - Elokobi, Forte regularly for a game here & there, Mike Jones has missed a couple & we've coped, but the last 5 weeks have shown that Liam Kelly is the difference between us being in a relegation scrap or a playoff push.

  6.

    Yes.

    A new ground for many.

    A chance to stand.

A day on the piss in Blackpool.

This is only the third away game between now and then - 2nd if you consider how many won't go to MK Dons.

I'm getting my ticket ASAP before they go.

Add into he mix the role that we're on and the feel good factor around the club at the minute. People won't want to miss out.

If we've got the tickets then get them on sale, while things are going as well as they are, and adding in the points that Harry made, I've never been more certain of anything that this will be sold out well in advance of general sale.

  7. Yes he needs games if he's to make a career for himself but with us? No thanks.

Better left back than Mills? No

More effective than Forte on the left of midfield? No

Better at CM than Jones, Kelly or Winchester? No

If he was to get that run of 25-30 games with us we'd have gone backwards from where we are now.

  8. Bad feeling given our history but Tranmere must be :censored:ting themselves.

Six rearrested - was Montano et al never charged then?

No. They were due back on bail on Tuesday 8th April but as the police do regularly in serious cases (whether justified or not) they will find new evidence a couple of days before that 'justifies' a re-arrest to catch them off guard & also try to make sure that they turn up!

As fans representative you walk a very tight rope within the club at times and who would expect you to burn your bridges.????????. Your mannerism and apporach matters a great deal and you would not last two miuntes with the "union" approach as someone suggested.

    Barry

Why? Do you walk a tight rope because you fear that you'll be 'kept out of the loop' if you dare cross the estate agent & accountant that run the club? Or do you walk a tight rope because you're so in their back pockets now that you don't want the fans (who you're supposed to represent) to realise that you don't actually represent them at all??

  10. What a dick

Why am I dick? What's with the acting all smug & delighted about a 1 month loan striker who has a career average of worse than 1 in 4? Acting like it's signing of the century! It's embarrassing!

Just like the overreaction to Saturday's win & still banging on about it during the Wolves game, embarrassing!

Have we all forgot that today we've let our best player go to Brentford, yes that's right, Brentford, no doubt for absolute peanuts again!

  11. I can accept we won't win the league

But is it really unrealistic to expect that we should be higher up the league I think as far as the league is going this season we are under achieving.

I think people on this thread are underselling this team I think it's far better than it is showing.

I can accept that this season is a work in progress.

I can accept that we won't push for promotion

But surely we haven't stooped so low that we can no longer expect to not be disappointed by home defeats to Colchester and Shrewsbury?

I think we should be 7-8 places further up the league am I really unrealistic to expect that?

    Exactly that.

People seem to think that because I'm not happy with where we're at currently that I expect that we should be running away with the division. Far from it, but what I do expect is that as a fan base and a club in general, we should strive to be better, we should want to be better, we don't accept the mediocrity that we've become used to. It seems to me that too many Latics fans are too happy to say 'we are a bottom half of league 1 club, that's where we should be, we can't compete with budgets of the like's of Wolves, Sheff Utd etc etc' that is what winds me up.

The clubs that I referred to above, that are all of a similar size to us, with similar fan bases and similar (certainly small in comparison to the 'big clubs' that have come down into this league) budgets to what we have year in year out. They achieve success because they believe in themselves, they believe that they do have a right to compete with the big boys and that they are in this division because that's where they deserve to be.

I got slated for being disgusted with our league performance at Wolves, people telling me 'you're deluded if you expect us to compete with Wolves, they had Kevin Doyle on the bench earning £40k a week blah blah blah'. I wasn't upset that we lost, I was upset at the manner of defeat, the fact that we went there believing we had no right to win that game.

Yes, this season is a transition season, I accept that, but really is it turning out to be any different to any other season? We're not improving, yes we pass it a bit more, but at the end of the day it's a results business and we still rock up at home and turn in piss poor displays against teams like Col U, Shrews etc. This squad that LJ has assembled is a decent squad, I think it's actually one of the strongest we've had in a while, that is what I find so frustrating.

So what we're going to Anfield on Sunday! It won't mean :censored: on Monday morning when we've been hammered and as with every year all we're left with going into the second half of the season is a battle against relegation. Oh well, it may at least be strong enough to win League 2 next year.

  12. I don't expect anything.

Do you think the Scunthorpe, Yeovil, Southend, Col U (need I go on) sides that have been promoted from this division in the time we've been languishing in it all had the same piss poor attitude that we have? This ridiculous acceptance that a relegation dogfight plus a trip to Anfield is what we should aspire to every season?
