I totally agree with the chaps who said in earlier posts that the 'no cash for Porter - no transfer market activity' thing makes no sense cos, as already said, if we were going to keep him surely we would still be signing players.

That said, I hate agents, I'm tired of Portergate and I think the whole thing's unfair on the supporters.

I know I'm not saying anything new here - but I wanted to have my say anyway, so there you go!

I recall seeing him land on his backside, but he somehow managed to collect the ball with both legs while sitting on the pitch, juggle it from foot to foot, then flick it up in the air and volly a pass back to the midfield - all while planted on his bottom...

Victims, and their relatives, have to cope with this every day.

There is a big fuss about Lee because he is a footballer. If he was an electrician or a baker etc etc etc nobody would know or give a hoot.

My two cents: There would be nothing unlawful about his early release, and he is entitled to take up his previous line of work if the opportunity is there. I have sympathy for the victim, but there is no reason why Lee shouldn't play professional football for latics.

Finally, I don't think shouting abuse at him from the stands, as is certainly going to happen if he plays, is going to help anybody, including relatives of the victim.

Bloody hell, just had a look at his myspace website... it looks like he logged on to it today. Shez and the boys should fire up the internet in Boundary Park and send him a message. They could start by telling him to pull his trousers up and put his shirt back on.

Andy Richie - my favourite player ever...

I remember when Graham Sharp was manager - and Richie was banished from the club. I was sickened.

Then, before the next season began, Latics played a friendly against Cobh Ramblers in Cork.

Being from Ireland, it was a treat because it was no hassle getting there. Just a couple of hours drive.

I remember being a young lad standing by the Latics subs bench when my dad shouted BRING BACK ANDY RICHIE at the top of his voice.

The look on Sharp's face - as he stood six feet away - is one of my favourite Richie memories... and it was brilliant when we did get Richie back.

Apart from that, I'll never forget my first game seen from the Chaddy end. Richie was magnificent and scored a penalty and set up two others in a cracking 3-3 draw with Coventry.

Richie - greatest Latic ever.

That Mark Hughes goal still makes me feel sick... and I've only seen it once - live on telly. I had the match video taped and watched it hundreds of times but always stopped after Pointon's goal... The thought of Hughes ruining it for us still rankles with me - and he should have been sent off for two yellow cards at that stage anyway...

I'm delighted to have found this forum... didn't know about it until I saw a link to the Chris t-shirts on another site.

I've had a little look around and it's good stuff.

I'm actually living in Ireland where Latics fans are - well - possibly non existant other than myself.

So I'm looking forward to a bit of banter on this site - I've supported Latics since the pinch me season.
